    I built an 18 ft by 6.5 ft greenhouse on the side of the barn next to my garden. My cherry tomatoes have hundreds of blooms now. Should have time to make, so Im buying canning jars. I have collected about three years worth of canned goods. I am completely off grid with a solar and wind system that I pieced together before all the prices went up. Since I don't have electric or winter fuel bills, I use that money to buy preps. I burn wood in a stove that I made out of an old sandblasting tank my uncle was gonna toss for scrap. I found a semi truck tailpipe by the highway, and its welded to my stove. I'm cutting wood this week. I like your garden.

Also, be sure to have some basic sewing supplies on hand for simple repairs (needles, thread, buttons, etc)

From breed you chose to food and housing to full slaughter (don't need to show that but explanation would be nice) and butchering out/processing? I would LOVE to see and know that! The Fed is in a box now. If they had held fast on the interest rate, businesses and banks would continue to fail, and layoffs would rise, and the economy sinks. By lowering rates, they stabilize the business aspect, but inflation heats up, people quit buying, and the economy sinks. The sad part is that this inflation all started not because the economy was too good, but because the government out of control spending forced them to print too much money, driving the dollar value down. They were literally solving the wrong problem by raising rates.

    • @MorganHillFarms

      Congress has been deficit spending for 20 years now. It is not an easy job to handle all this deficit spending Congress does. Big tax cuts just makes for bigger deficits. Inflation was put into place in 2020 with the high tariffs that were put into place and Congress handing out money like candy trying to keep everyone above water during the pandemic along with supply chain disruptions and shortages. The definition of inflation is too much money chasing too few goods.

    We've been in a recession for almost2 years, and yes we'll be in a depression soon. That is, if they don't change the definition of it like they did with recession.

    • @davidadcock3382
      @davidadcock3382 Месяц назад

      Depression is when prices are going down, Inflation is when prices are going up. A recession is a meaningful and extensive downturn in economic activity. A common definition holds that two consecutive quarters of decline in gross domestic product (GDP) constitute a recession. In general, recessions bring decreased economic output, lower consumer demand, and higher unemployment. Unemployment is low and consumer demand has been very good and the reason we have had inflation. When the Stock Market goes down quite a long ways that will be an indicator of a looming recession. We are not in a recession YET!!

    The thing people don't realize is that the main thing that controls inflation is people's "willingness to pay" and "ability to pay".
    Advertisers try to make people believe they "need" a product to increase the willingness to pay.
    People's level of income controls the ability to pay.
    Increasing self sufficiency lowers willingness to pay and thus lowers inflation.
    For profit companies main goal is to get as much money from the people as possible. Inflation has nothing to do with their expenses.
    So, in depending on money to meet their needs, most people will find themselves struggling.

    Recession or depression is like a forest fire ….. the big trees burn down and it allows the light to reach the bottom of the forest floor and the seedlings then get a great opportunity to grow and flourish.. PS a question… what is a speech mark pocketbook “of the American RUclipsrs referred to a pocketbook? What does it look like? Is it a book you keep in your pocket? I have a guess that it’s a euphemism for some kind of accounting system and not actually a physical book it comes from the time when people didn’t have money but they would keep account of what they owed each other, in a book so that sounds like quite a good idea. That is correct, YOU DO NOT KNOW. Egg prices have risen because of the severe Bird Flu epidemic. For more than two years, farmers have fought a battle with a fatal strain of bird flu that continues to disrupt the U.S. egg supply. At one point, the shortage sent the price of a dozen regular eggs soaring to almost $5. Prices retreated somewhat, but they’re going up again. Meanwhile, flocks of egg-laying hens are smaller because producers haven’t recovered from losses to bird flu over the past two years, Earnest says. “It seems like they can’t get over this bird flu outbreak issue.”

    • @Damon7777
      @Damon7777 2 месяца назад +1

      Swing state Wisconsin here and gas is under $3. There may be an election component but I think it’s mainly supply and demand. A lot more people work from home after the pandemic and drive less as a result. The high inflation we had seemed to track with the price of gas and diesel so it’s nice that’s let up some. Just hope the dollar stays strong. Being the reserve currency has been beneficial to the United States in that we have been able to somewhat mask our inflation by other countries holding dollars. So as less trade is done in dollars and more of the Brics nations trading in other currencies, the more dollars will come back to the United States which will cause more inflation. The Fed may want to maintain 2% but that soon won’t be possible. Well, unless the Yuan collapses first.

    If you have room for lawn then you have room for more garden.. Get your medicinals planted.. Get your perennial gardens going for tea and herbs.. Lawns are stupid

      I agree! But pasture is valuable for livestock! I love the tea garden idea:) I’m going to look into getting that in this next year. Thank you for the idea.
