    You're not alone in not listening - I made excuses for 2 years for God's promptings to grow a garden. When I needed one at lockdowns I didn't have one, and was then 2 years behind in learning to grow one.
    I've learned from that experience.

    Wise words. And the beauty of homeschool is that you can take a day (or 3!) to work with produce and have the kids help. May be the most important lesson you can teach. Blessings!

    You are not alone. Gladly, I see that I am not alone. I'm in Florida and the heat, humidity, mosquitos and ants are kicking my 64 year old butt.

      I feel for you! I know what that is like.....but you are most likely a bit hotter in FL than we are in SC. Many times the garden reminds me of my age and that I am getting older!

    Went to Kroger's this past weekend with my husband and there were no vegetables to speak of in the organic or non-organic section. It reminded me of the plandemic years. We just stood there staring.
    I have a huge garden but the deer have eaten everything. I'm going to keep planting.

    Listen, you are not alone. Although my children are grown I do work a full time job and just today I'm trying to figure how I'll keep managing the food preservation. I am trying to shift my focus from mass in season food preservation to crops that don't require immediate preservation. Potatoes, cabbages, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes. Keep going, you're doing great!

      That is very smart! I love those crops that can be harvested and then just put on a shelf. Now I just need Nate to build me a root cellar!!!

    Sweet friend. At times we’re all immensely overwhelmed and unable to see a time when our burden would possibly be easier to bear. The repetitiveness of our days can bring restlessness. Often It seems our days are not ours. But in my heart I know the why to our journey. It’s not about being successful or even doing a task well done. It’s about being obedient and maintaining an humble attitude before the throne of our Father. At least, for now, the fruits of our labor, our harvest, is solely ours. If we loose our purpose the harvest and the ‘pursuit of producing’, can become an idol of sorts. You make a difference in my life. Because of your humbleness I don’t think you see how God uses you to bless us. You have a gentle wisdom that I recognize as coming from your spending time seeking God and exhausting yourself to please Him. Weariness is real. When you’re a natural born leader, following won’t come easy. There is rest when He makes us lie down beside the still water. The key word is that He must ‘make’ us lie down. But the reward is phenomenal. I appreciate all you do to encourage me!!You’re in my prayers.

      Wow! Your comment is so moving. I appreciate all your amazingly kind words. I am glad to know that I am an encouragement and that you enjoyed the video. Sometimes it is freeing just to speak in the moment of what we are feeling. I definitely did that in this video! I am looking forward to the winter season and I know I will look back on the summer and be thankful for all the Lord allowed me to accomplish. Thank you again for your very wise and thoughtful comment:)

      You are so welcome! Sometimes it is nice for me to just share the reality of what is happening in the moment. A lot of my garden videos with voiceovers make the work look so easy, when in reality it is actually pretty intense work:). I am so glad you enjoyed the video!

    I so appreciate all of your videos! Here in Australia, we are in the best time of year in the garden. The winter garden was so slow and lovely. Now I'm planting all the seeds and getting to watch them germinate. Reminds me of Ecclesiastes 1:9 "What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun."
    There's a seemlingly endless cycle under the sun. But our hope is in our heavenly Father above the sun, who makes all things new, including our hearts of stone. And we can look forward to the new heavens and the new Earth!

      I just pray that Jesus comes quickly. Our world is so quickly crumbling around us. I will say though that these last few difficult years have really allowed me to grow closer to the Lord and to have meaningful conversations with my children about His word and what His will is for His children. After all, if we only have good times, we would not rely on God, but would rather trust in ourselves. I am grateful for your comment and so happy you are here.....Even if you are across the world from me!

    Another great video. Please, please do not wear yourself down. Burnout is real. Always remind yourself, what youre doing is by choice now. One day, it will be a necessity and you wont miss a beat

    • @MorganHillFarms
      @MorganHillFarms  2 месяца назад +1

      That is so true and very unfortunate that there will come a time that this will be a necessity. Each year I do find that I am able to better utilize my time and energy.....I hope the eventually I will become more efficient and things won't be so intensely difficult during the summer season:). I am so very grateful that the kids and Nate have been a huge help this year. I hope to teach my kids how to do a bit more of the preserving next year as well.

    I’m new here. If you know others who could come and help you around your property, give them some of the food as a way to pay or thank them. That way it’s a win for you and the other person/people.

    You are doing just what the Lord has asked. He spoke to me as well. Today the inflation report came out and they will drop interest rates in September. However, most people don’t understand that by late 2025 early 2026 , inflation will be worse because of the rate drops. Keep gardening and prepping. It will all be worth it when a can of green beans reach $3.00 a can! Remember when they said “ bread will go to $5.00 a loaf” and we couldn’t conceive that. Well here we are. Prep on my friend!

      I just filmed another video on the exact topic of the rate drop and how it will hike inflation. Im so glad to hear that Im not the only one who sees this! I know that I will definitely enjoy my winter break and I will look back at the summer season and feel very accomplished in what we were able to preserve:)

      I just saw that Costco has the Large harvest right for 2999$. I have been thinking about it but I have heard some stories about the freeze dryers breaking and HR not having great support for their customers. Do you have one? What are your thoughts about the quality?

    Great video. Thanks for being so honest. Growing food isn't easy but it's very important currently. I think the mental strain of the political situations in our countries is more tiring than physical work. If Trump doesn't win the election in November, we are all going to be in a terrible situation and that includes us in the UK. My only suggestion is not to grow such a wide variety of food and concentrate only on the basics ie potatoes, carrots, greens and fruit. Good luck x

    • @MorganHillFarms
      @MorganHillFarms  2 месяца назад +1

      I think that advice about growing only certain crops is spot on. Growing so many different things demands a lot more time. This coming year I am going to narrow down my garden to those crops that will be most likely to sustain us. Maybe someday I will invest in a freeze dryer. I hear they can make the preserving season so much easier.

    You mentioned Azure Standard… we just went to our first drop yesterday! I absolutely love everything that we picked up! Was wondering if you have an affiliate link that you could share, so that you could benefit from our orders! For yesterday’s order, I used another RUclips channel’s link and code for 15% off, as a new customer. They have a code for 10% off on subsequent orders. Would like you to get credit, if you have a link and code, though. We benefit so much from your content and would like a way to repay all you give to us!!! ❤

      I’m not sure if it comes with a percentage of savings when you use it.

    I’m thinking about the same as you. But when I talk to my family here it’s the Lord says not be in fear trust him. I’m like just do it store up and trust his word. I’m not fearful at all and I’m sure he wasn’t
