It does take quite a lot of time and patience but I do enjoy it. I'm experimenting with different ways of teaching at the moment to see what method works best. This week I'm just playing it through really slow without talking. I still have to find my way of doing it. :-)
Love the fact that your teaching this type of music. Just tried Telestar and your lesson is easy to follow. Never tried to play with a backing track but I'm looking forward to do so with this peace. Hopefully I can bring it up to speed. Thanks
Great job! Perfect tempo for a novice, and we can see where to place our fingers easily. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH !!! Can you please do walk don't run ?
Thanks Joseph, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying my tutorials, by the way I have already done 'Walk Don't Run'. Here is my tutorial: ruclips.net/video/szv8rcZ8aE0/видео.html Here is my cover: ruclips.net/video/2ORFOYd1Lmk/видео.html If you need tabs: kenmercermusic.com/product/walk-dont-run-tab/ My website has a categorised list of all my RUclips tutorials which can be accessed here: kenmercermusic.com/guitar-tutorials-guitar-lessons-free-guitar-lessons-hank-marvin-the-shadows-the-shadows/ Good luck with 'Walk Don't Run' I hope you have fun with it! All the best, Ken
I've said this before, by far the best tutor for Hank Marvin / Shadows tunes. I personally would say this is one of the "easier" ones I've learnt to date, thanks to your lessons Ken. If you're taking requests, how about FBI or Cavatina? Thanks again for sharing this Ken, it is appreciated. Have a great bank holiday weekend mate. (Is a backing track available for this tune?)
Thank you Alex, I'll see what I can do for the tunes you have mentioned. Please drop me an email for the backing track. mercermusic(at)hotmail.it I hope you had a good weekend buddy.
Hello my friend, look out for next weeks Friday release, I have covered 'Shindig' as you requested and the tutorial will follow the week after that. Thanks for your kindness, all the best. Ken :-)
Hello, yes I am aware of that thanks! If you check the description of the video you will see I credit the Tornadoes for this beautiful masterpiece. My version was 'Shadows' style. Thanks for watching. :)
Excellent tutorial. I love it. Have you considered doing The Ventures "Blue Moon"? I don't think I've ever since a Tutorial on youtube. Thanks for all you do.
Hello rrgguitarman, you are very welcome. I enjoy teaching and playing music so it's a pleasure for me. I haven't heard the Ventures version of 'Blue Moon' but I'll certainly take it in to consideration! Thanks for your kind message, all the best, Ken :-)
I was experimenting with different ways of making tutorials and this one was a 'silent tutorial' to see if people were still able to learn from it. I won't be remaking this one with a voice over but the tabs are available on my website: www.kenmercermusic.com All my future videos will be with an explanation. If this video is too fast there is also the option of slowing down the playback on the RUclips settings panel, if you are unfamiliar with this feature it is the small gear cog on the bottom left of the video window where you would change the video resolution. Clicking it once will give you a new menu and clicking on 'Speed' will enable you to choose a slower playback. Sorry I can't be of any more help with this one. Kind regards, Ken :-)
Hi Ken you have a lot of patience in making these tuition videos, which are very clear and easy to follow. Cheers Phil

Shadows ? They covered it, but the Tornadoes had the hit with it. First British band to make the Top 40 in America, before the Beatles.
