It was music like this that inspired me to pick up the guitar ! With all the emphasis on playing blazing guitar solos, crazy fingerstyle guitar tapping and drumming on the guitar, using banjo tuners etc. Even classical guitar with orchestra etc. Julian Bream etc. All that and then some! I’ve heard tons of truly great guitar music! It is super duper melodies like this that really bring back the time period when I was a kid and loving music so much! I don’t think that these kind of melodies can be matched, they are in a WOUNDERFUL class by themselves! Thanks for playing this true gem!

Phil i have just watched this lad play Telstar ,he did it but it sounded really basic, not like, Your version ,your version seems to have much more going on, he was plucking the strings and the song was there, but yours is so much lively, and seems to have more in it. Phil i don't know what i am trying to say here, do you have an answer for me, do you do other things while you are playing Telstar are you playing more fancy chords and fancy picking. Thanks for your great comment on this one - I always put off recording it as I thought the Tornados played it on a keyboard not guitar but I may be wrong. But then the Shadows did it on guitars and they got away with it. Lol I started playing in 1964 when I was 13. Very few guitars in the shops then compared to now :-) All the best.. Phil

I was 3rd year apprentice with Scottish Gas ( 18 ) then sitting my Intermediate City & Guilds ! By then I`d come a long way in music as i started buying records in 1956 and saw and heard all the pioneers . I`ve always been into music but my regret is not playing .My mate then and still see him now was Johnny Devine who played with Phil & The Flintstones an Edinburgh group .Phil Clarke jnr was the singer . Johnny still has his `62 Strat in his attic with the Vox E 30 ! Come over to my channel ( subscribe ) .We`ve usually 3 per week on the 2 juke boxes and you`ll probably find new ones too as I`ve seen you comment to Dave M that it`s new to you .I now realise that with your age . Geoff .Terry & Pino are all regulars and we chit chat back & forth . Good interaction telling what we think about the songs & tunes .Had The Cougars Sat Night At The Duckpond up on Wed . You`ll be most welcome as you seem a good regular guy . I can do anything from 1956 to 1990 but mainly 57 to 70 . Cheers the noo !

Phil i have just watched this lad play Telstar ,he did it but it sounded really basic, not like, Your version ,your version seems to have much more going on, he was plucking the strings and the song was there, but yours is so much lively, and seems to have more in it. Phil i don't know what i am trying to say here, do you have an answer for me, do you do other things while you are playing Telstar are you playing more fancy chords and fancy picking. Hope you and your family are well. Phil just played your version of you're my world by Cilla Black, my favorite Cilla song again Phil fantastic as usual.

Hi Roger - would you believe Spam again - I think it's the empty lines near the bottom of the comment Lol. Thanks for your great comment on this one - I always put off recording it as I thought the Tornados played it on a keyboard not guitar but I may be wrong. But then the Shadows did it on guitars and they got away with it. Lol I started playing in 1964 when I was 13. Very few guitars in the shops then compared to now :-) All the best.. Phil

1964 when you were 13 .That makes me feel old ! I was 3rd year apprentice with Scottish Gas ( 18 ) then sitting my Intermediate City & Guilds ! By then I`d come a long way in music as i started buying records in 1956 and saw and heard all the pioneers . I`ve always been into music but my regret is not playing .My mate then and still see him now was Johnny Devine who played with Phil & The Flintstones an Edinburgh group .Phil Clarke jnr was the singer . Johnny still has his `62 Strat in his attic with the Vox E 30 !
Come over to my channel ( subscribe ) .We`ve usually 3 per week on the 2 juke boxes and you`ll probably find new ones too as I`ve seen you comment to Dave M that it`s new to you .I now realise that with your age . Geoff .Terry & Pino are all regulars and we chit chat back & forth . Good interaction telling what we think about the songs & tunes .Had The Cougars Sat Night At The Duckpond up on Wed . You`ll be most welcome as you seem a good regular guy . I can do anything from 1956 to 1990 but mainly 57 to 70 . Cheers the noo !
