Great job! The importance of teaching triads and not just riffs cannot be overstated. You are providing a great service to any guitar player and I hope young guitarists will take this seriously. I know everybody wants to master iconic guitar riffs but doing so is fun but low in musical nutritional value. Learning triads first will make mastering iconic riffs easier. Keep on preaching the good word!

I have seen many Videos on the subject. The difference with yours is that it is instantly applicable. Here’s a song, here are shapes You can use to sound out that song in different places.
So simple, but so much better than just handing me a triad chart, and saying practice it!
My brain works much better with a concrete example. The triads are just kind of abstract unless they are directly applicable the way you are teaching them.
Again, a great job. I look forward to more and will look at your previous output.

That chord you didn't know what to call, is what I call the Keef chord because I learned it for trying to sound like Richard's. Great lesson.

Brilliant! Only Jimi could manage to write an opus and turn it into a practice routine! 😂🐐Thank you for this and totally agree this is the perfect tune to work on these and sprinkle in some 6th’s…

Awesome lesson. There are so many possibilities here. You're climbing up, but we can also climb down through the changes. Also, it's important to let the CAGED system be our guide and apply that all over the fretboard.

    Hey Sean,
The 1,5,2,6 Triad Chord progression for all inversions on the 1,2,3 - 2,3,4 - 3,4,5 string sets is my goto exercise which is not exactly what you have hear with the Dmaj, but having a song to get under the fingers with this in mind is really cool.
I've seen this before and thought I would watch it again and I got my Cowboy AHa moment.
I hate to say this but the Cowboy chords don't work for me yet, and I am so jealous when I see a template chord progression with the bar chords but sound terrible when I try to play them.
This seems to bridge the Gap very eloquently.
    Much Thanks
