I can't see why anyone would gripe about a free guitar lesson. I've been playing for 7 decades, and this instruction is to me, well set out, helpful. Wish id had this in my first year or two. Thanks, buddy!

@@DENNISREID-r7t I am genuinely humbled by your comment. Thank you so much.🙏

@@rookieg thank you so much!
Hey Sean,
The 1,5,2,6 Triad Chord progression for all inversions on the 1,2,3 - 2,3,4 - 3,4,5 string sets is my goto exercise which is not exactly what you have hear with the Dmaj, but having a song to get under the fingers with this in mind is really cool.
I've seen this before and thought I would watch it again and I got my Cowboy AHa moment.
I hate to say this but the Cowboy chords don't work for me yet, and I am so jealous when I see a template chord progression with the bar chords but sound terrible when I try to play them.
This seems to bridge the Gap very eloquently.
Much Thanks
Woohoo! Triads! The foundation! The fundamentals! The source of all music.

I have always believed the best was to PRACTICE is to play songs. And I've struggled trying to find a way to practice triads in a song. Thanks for an excellent triad practice routine.
@@axe-ologist thanks a bunch! I appreciate the comment
Any song with ‘chords’ has triads. For me triads are the ‘color notes’ in the song. Usually 3 notes makes a BASIC chord. He’s showing triads from chords (for shapes different positions on the neck.. Even studio musicians having (bad day) Improvising or structured over orchestrated cinematic or ugly German death tech. (Amazing when it sounds ugly musical. Because they stick with formula (music) ‘outlining the chords’. Use Triads to outline the rhythm chords when solo. Sometime you stop figure out details every chord . Triads!

Awesome! Thanks so much🤗
Cool lesson! "Hey, Joe" is a great song for this. The major and minor triads aren't too hard to learn but until you practice USING them in the context of a SONG, well, you don't know what to do with them when you're playing songs. 🤣 And this song is familiar, accessible, not too fast: this isn't beyond anyone's reach and yet the exercise is one that even advance players could benefit from. (If they're really advanced, they probably already do something like this.)
@@MarkRhodesSongs thanks for the comment! And you are 100% spot on. These are things that everyone from beginners to pros can practice. We’re all in this together.
This!! Practicing in the context of a song is the secret. Otherwise you're just learning how to play an exercise without the ability to apply it to a tune.
Thank you very much! Three years at learning guitar…all online…and this is wonderful. I have been scratching at starting triads, and I think your video here will be my big push. I will watch this video over and over!
