      Very true, that's an excellent punch line I also picked up. These guys are even better writers than watchmakers and when we see how much knowledge is displayed on watchmaking, this is rather quite a talent.

    Believe me you don’t need to use such titles for these videos. These kinds of catchy and trendy titles other RUclipsrs use to play with the algorithm drive me crazy. I don’t want these titles to change as well! It’s extremely undeserving for a channel of this high quality; just let natural viewers come. Great video either way.

      A. B. You have a point that it could possibly expand the hobby or attract more enthusiasts, but I don’t believe a bothersome and trendy title change is the best way to do it in regard to nearly all accounts. It’s also so cheap to boil down this video or any other great video he’s made to, “Watch expert reacts to...” just like some of those irritating RUclipsrs. I believe I also saw this point on another comment, but these kinds of titles don’t seem to fit the sophisticated level of the content. It feels very out of place.

    I am a wrench monkey. I turn wrenches and repair broken machines in my factory. I was under a car with my dad when I was 6. My mom was furious when I would come into the house covered in grease, oil, dirt, bleeding from half a dozen scratches and a grin. The more complicated the machine the better. So naturally watches of this caliber are the pinnacle of my love. Changing the starter on a Caterpillar bulldozer is one thing. Assembling parts you have to have a 12x loupe just to even see is on a whole other level. Like a high school football player in the Super Bowl. Just the best of the best. Liked and subbed.

  • @aarondbritt
    @aarondbritt 4 года назад +12

    I'm not sure this Patek is finished to a degree that is worth $200k. For example @ 2:25, you can clearly see the bottom of the "4" not aligned well on the spiral dial, @ 2:42, the 8 on the upper left has a small pip missing from its lower circle on the upper left side. @ 0:17, there is clearly an indent/mark on the clock works on the brass colored metal, at the lower left side. Also, at the same 0:17 you can see what looks like dust or scratches on the gear in the middle of the screen. @1:10, there is a small bubble on the 45 marker (between 40 and 50). These are just some examples. I know these flaws only show up on a Macro lens, but for a $200k Patek, I am disappointed. That being said, it is a gorgeous watch.

    • @edd2771
      @edd2771 4 года назад +3

      Aaron Britt Despite your attention to detail, I suspect you may have missed that Watchfinder are “the pre-owned watch specialists”. They can only show the examples they have, which by definition have been used and serviced and will bear evidence of same. As for the dial imperfections, these are done by hand. Would you prefer robot perfection, or would this too preclude the watch from justifying its price? If so, there will have been no pleasing you, which I suspect may be the real problem.

    • @aarondbritt
      @aarondbritt 4 года назад

      Ed D I agree with your sentiment, but have seen better by-hand dial’s and less imperfections from brands like Credor, A.Lange & Söhne etc. That had $30k or $50k price tags, with much higher quality. Just disappointed in this specific example, and think they could have had better quality control with this watch.

    I think it would be great it you featured Christopher Ward's single pusher chronograph compared to some of its older and more expensive swiss counterparts. Either the C900 or theC9 ME 109.

    Rarely do I ever see a watch I would genuinely enjoy owning, this has to be everything I want in a watch. Too bad my broke ass will have to put up with my G-Shock!

      Glue a hi-res image of the Patek’s movement on the back of your G-shock and pretend! After all the G shock has an annual calendar (maybe even a perpetual one?) and a stopwatch! EDIT: Know what you mean though: this Patek is both everything you need and want in a watch.

      Buys a reasonable house in north Florida, though. You'd just have to insure your 200k watch against hurricane damage. :D

    This out of curiosity, the technology displayed on the watch has now been achieved. To design a complication like this with the help of computers is going to be easy in the current era. Does such technology still really command such a big price. Patek Phillipe must have mastered and achieved efficiencies by now?

    • @DM-rc4yu
      @DM-rc4yu 4 года назад

      You do know it has very little to do with the technology and very much to do with the name, right? Nothing displayed on here is rocket science.

    1:38 200000$ and yet some trace of ink between H and N
    Being in the watch industry for longer than others is not a valid excuse for a price like that. Especially if the attention to detail isn't above perfect. And this isn't.
    That being said, insane movement.

    The title is fine; it's a parody of the goofy "react" videos. The guy makes a number of other subtle but witty comments in many of these videos. Thinking that this title is being used as click-bait is a mistake. The massively reliable quality of the content proves that the videos are anything but click-bait.

    People forget youtube is a BUSINESS and attracting views is as important as attracting clients. I know you all want it to be a niche hobby between you and your rich friends, but it's not enough to keep a youtube channel going. In case you haven't noticed, a lot of work goes into it. RUclips rewards channels that play by the rules of the algorithm, so if you wanna keep watching videos like these, DO NOT complain about the title, and make sure to at least like the video.

      Nathan Carrille Music an admirable defense. However I’m afraid the title is fully tongue-in-cheek...a wink at his audience. He knows that they know that he knows better....
