Kind of ironic since HL1 was originally a mod based on the quake engine and quake was just the next iteration of the doom engine. It's like taking a step forward and backwards at the same time lol

Half-Life was already pretty darn brutal in its own right; bodies exploding into bits. Bones, guts with skull and spine pieces lying around.
All in low poly glory.

@@adviesa you dont have to use the console, there is one more portal that you didn't mention, that portal will directly start Half-Life maps (except anomalous materials because you start the game with fists which you aren't supposed to have in c1a0)
I didn't find that portal in my playthrough, any idea where it is?

@@adviesa it was right in front of you all that time, it's just near the Doom 1 portal.
Also, I got contact with the mod's creator, he says that he's expanding the mod above what GoldSrc can offer and enhancing the Half-Life experience that no other mod could do.

Fair warning. Thus mod crashes alot affter playing it for a while. So be prepared to keep booting the game up every so often
even with xash this is one of the least stable mods to download, which makes sense in a way

I love brutal half life and it needs more love and attention. And it did get an update back in January so it's still getting worked on.

I feel like there’s a discrepancy on what a Brutal mod for games are
Like for Half Life it’s maps overhauled from Brutal Doom
For Lethal Company it’s basically brutally difficult
Meanwhile for Halo CE it’s basically lore accurate violence
This mod is gold since the trio games in the 90s are the best

before you ask whats the point, just think about it. "But cant you use just one and the room would be clear?" my respons : NUH UH! because you have 2 of the biggest gun and you can take on any boss headstrong can take on anyone.
Wouldn't that just make every encounter too easy and not worth playing the game?
I suppose game modes like Sandbox or something like "casual" mode, they would make such a weapon fun to have.
@adviesa yeah your right. It should be hidden so that you have a rare chance to find it, also it would take twice the ammo since it's 2 guns.

Not updating this mod for over 5 years is a great disservice for all 5 games involved in this. I wish the creator would at least pass the torch on to someone else to continue the mod.

It's also horribly unstable and the further you go in the game, the often it crashes

My desire is see Urban Mercenary in different versions the games, Urban Mercenary is an fps game of 2001 (I use QuArK 6.0 and Qmaps for edit UM maps and you can't insert other entities like "ogre" only monsters, info_player_start and info_player_deathmatch) hope you have the time and the possible for make it

The downside of this mod is that it crashes a lot.
It’s basically impossible to get it working now, due to the 20th anniversary update to base Half-Life. But if you’re deep enough into Half-Life modding to know about this, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Shame that this mod is completely abandoned, though.
You can go back to Pre Anniversary by right clicking on Half-Life in Steam, Then Properties then Betas and selecting "steam_legacy"
