Beautiful car Welbilt well put together if I wasn't watching I would never know it was a kid car if I see this sitting on the side of the road or in the parking lot
These cars have been on the market for over 10 years and I have never seen a performance video. I have never seen a video of how the engine sounds on take off, how the suspension handles, how well the brakes perform, or a drag race.
I don't have access to a track or drag strip. All the things you mention will be different on each build as well dependant on the parts fitted. Braking wise - Solid feel but not servo assisted so needs a fair push, but stops well but expected with 4 pot calipers on a lighter car. Suspension - Again I cant comment on pushing to the limits but then as well as this, the grip you have will depend on the tyres you fit as well as if you set up the suspension yourself. Sound, again down to the exhaust you have made. Its not a racing car in terms of all these things thats for sure, but in terms of driving on the road I dont have any issues.
I wasn't implying you should make a video of these things (that would be nice though). It would be nice if Diego and the DDR team did one. A car with the name GT behind it generally means performance.
Wow!!! Saw a vid about this kit and have been looking for people who built it and came across your channel. I see it's quite old now have you still got it? I have so many questions that you've probably already had a million times. I was blown away by the details you've added. Hats off to you
Congratulations! Thank you! Some DDR music videos do such a disservice to the designer: because incredibly sorted examples *(like yours) exist. Haters should see these build videos, and reserve judgement until they see them running Sandhills, the Silver State, Lime Rock, Willow Springs, Sebring etc..... Production exotics have a slightly longer wheelbase, are a bit wider, well lower/flatter, but the exorbitant costs of their insane, space saving designs are passed on to the buyers. The DDR's meet somewhere near the middle between a full exotic and a less costly 2+2 production designs like the Porsche 968 or Nissan 370Z's that can be upgraded to full supercars w/ big turbos or (as in the case of the 968's), LSx swaps. I reckon you'd be able to, especially to the GT8 chassis design. The other Gt4 chassis design has had a Chevy 6.2l small block with porsche transaxle fitted. so Anything is possible I think as the engine bay is certainly big enough
@@killerferret666 Youcan have any LS chevy small block, I believe. I'm having one built with an LS7.
