The car's Owner is Ryan Walker. Ryan has owned this car since new. He’s shared he wanted this car because nobody has one. The car weights an amazing 1800 pounds and is equipped with a 540 Horse Power V8 engine!

Just to clarify, this car is NOT 1800 lbs. The official website itself (as well as the third party builders) says it has a complete weight of 2700 lbs after finished and ready to drive.

@@JaegerLeo Well, I was in email discussions with Grullon, but I guess I must have rubbed him the wrong way. My plan was to have them build it but I wanted to source the donor car and a remanufactured engine and deliver it to him, I guess he didn't like that. He didn't respond to any more of my emails. My "Spidey senses" started to tingle after that. I'm looking at the Ultima RS now, it would definitely be a higher performance machine, but it's so frickin' expensive even as a DIY kit. I still like the looks of the Grullon over the Ultima RS, but not gonna happen.
@@TheAeroegg very interesting. I sent an email to the company on Saturday (yesterday). I hope the communication is positive. The corvette has long been my favorite car of all time, but I'm really impressed with this car as well.

This car rocks! I'd love to be driving this baby down the road and get a gander of the stares I'd get. I love everything about it - outside and in. The instrument gauges and the seats are totally boss! I could never own a car like this though. I would lose what little humility I have left. Instead of pausing at mirrors once for a second or two, I'd just stand there. :-)
@@klasseact6663 sort of. Just as a fantasy car perhaps. Kinda like a guy might fantasize about being married to a certain movie start but they know in reality, that's not ever going to happen. My dream car would actually be a 58 Chevy Impala restore with a few enhanced tweaks. While I probably will never be able to afford one, it has the potential happening. :-)

best part is your getting the engine parts yourself so u can make any kind of LS swap and give it crazy power, just make it all fit
When DDR comes up with power passenger and driver windows Im in!!! Not a minute sooner.
you can build the doors to lift hydolicaly and just run the motor on a relay off the battery
@@livingfast2280 Doesn't work so well in the drive in food line. Talked with DDR several years ago about it and they said it was in the works....tick tock. Saleen did it in the S7 so I know the ability is there just not the desire.

Nice car with a shorter front overhang than most but 1,800 lbs is in a dream. Other DDR's weigh 2,900. GTM, SLC, and Ultima's rarely get below 2,400 lbs

If the car weighs 1800lbs, id be very surprised. Extremely surprised in fact based on my experience. That said it doesn't change the fact the owner is a good guy and its a nice car.
its an a tubular space frame and fiberglass body, the ls and porsche transmission in total only weigh about 1200 together it sounds about right to me

Great looking car, that puts out plenty if HP and the engine sounds good. Has this car have a safety rating or has even been tested? The interior looks pretty good too, maybe a tad refinement. Draws attention and why not, awesome. Will be following this brand.

You can buy these turnkey with safety inspections done at DDR Motorsports. I was offered a turnkey model around 50k.
Nobody has one!!! Except 23 other people and more on the way.

$17,000 with no motor and accepts a C8 Corvette motor. By the time you get it done completely it's around $50,000 if you do the work yourself. Now if a shop does it?? Expect that to jump up to $80-$90,000. But,....you'll have a unique car.

can tell that looks of this kit car compares to that of a Pagani or koenigsegg. So no supercar under 500k is competing in looks only issue is those cars are way faster, durable, and safe.

Agree. With nicer seats; alcantara covered dash, modular instrument cluster, and integrated HVAC controls- all all doable cheap- it would look FAR batter!
I'm not a fan of the interior dash. I would had made it look more expensive look to it I would had tried to coppy the MaclarenF1 . But I suppose it goes to builder budget. But yeah the dash looks like a cheap Toyota MR2 dash from the early 90s very squarish. Nice looking sports car though. Except the dash.

@@loucostabileThanks. Yeah I've seen many of these cars on RUclips. Great builds. I'm just not a fan of the dashboard style that seems to comes standard in design with these kit car. I'm thinking of doing a Grullon GT8 myself. Except put in a custom design fibreglass Maclaren 720s dashboard to fit. Or copy the F1 maclaren dashboard and center console style in a 2 seater configuration and doing something different to everyone else instead of LS V8. I'll go with porche 911 turbo S 4.0l 700hp motor. I love the LS V8s but I like how the porche 911 turbo S sounds and it's higher RPM range. Plus I'd be able to put a 8 speed Automatic transmission in it with the porche 911 turbo S motor along with paddle shift on the stearing wheel. I can drive the manual but I'd rather an Automatic. Just too much traffic where I live..manual would be annoying after awhile. And knowing myself I'd ride the clutch too much.
Not my cup of tea, but anyone who'd name a boy Remington already has the _LOOK AT ME!_ gene. Plus I'd be worried kids at school would tease him about going off half-cocked, as school children K-12 are known for cruelty. Not sure if it'll ever be a collector car, even with limited numbers. The power to weight ratio makes it interesting, but just seeing it at a car meet wouldn't draw my interest. I'll bet it's expensive though.

they can easily fetch around $100,000 after customizations with optionable powerplants as well and the lightweight? you could very well see a car less than 2,000lbs pushing close to 800whp is a beast of a machine.

@@loucostabile Well. You gotta admit,... there is some validity to my statement. I attend car shows year round. I've been in Hot Rod magazine twice with my 1970 Chevelle SS pro touring BBC car. My cousin Terry Cummings painted Dale Jr.'s 66 Chevelle. The only black car to ever win the riddler. He also painted Merle Haggarts Highboy. Lets just say I'm involved heavily in the street rod and classic car community in a huge way. I meant no disrespect,...its just that I've dealt with it before myself and it's a bit aggravating and disrespectful. So please dont take my constructive criticism personally. You do a great job nevertheless. It's just the approach,... I believe could use some wet sanding and buffing. That's all. ;)👍🇺🇸💪
