Over saturation is ebb and flow. It’s all about getting tot the right audience and producing what they either want to hear or the opposing side of what they hate. Preferring to have both sides that feel strongly on either side
I don’t think it’s too late to start a RUclips channel. I was told this a long time ago: Someone out there needs exactly what YOU have and how YOU deliver it. Yes, you might be talking about the same thing several others are talking about, but your method of delivery is much more relatable than what others are doing. The channel you start today may change someone’s life next week, next month, next year, or next decade!! 😊
This is really inspiring! Just because one style works for a lot of other people doesn’t mean that your own style won’t work much better for you. Everyone is unique and has massive potential for success on RUclips, but a big part of the journey is finding out what fits you best and how to best approach your own unique style and personality :)
Two year plan, use SEO to plan videos and titles, found Canva cheesy so made my own thumbs, scripts - learn to write, take a public speaking course, editing using Casey's principles, story with intro, hook etc. experiment..
08:44 That's the best advice. I've done it without thinking about it. I uploaded different types of videos and then a few of them started to get lots of views and the others didn't. So I focused on the ones that did and kept going in that direction.
5 minutes in and I'm hearing great advice. Keep it simple. Don't stress. Just chill. Commit to 1 upload per week to start. Don't overthink. Be true to yourself. You don't have to do what others are doing.
Is it too late? No way, I just started mine! Thank you for another solid video. This has been years in the making for me. You guys are killing it and have been a huge help in my journey.
4 years into my channel and still learning. Committing, making it a part of my life was hard until it became my normal. Starting is always hard, but if you start your channel today, next week you will be 1 week in.
That was my story as well. It was hard and so awkward the first video now I’m just rolling and don’t even notice the camera. I’ll only get better. I’m daily posting. But I hit 30 days and was like wow 30 days already….moral of the story…START & DONT STOP.
Some great nuggets here. Loved the question about what pitfalls/mistakes to expect when starting out. Key takeaways for me: 1. Consistency is key. Some videos take off after 100 days. Videos compound like interest 2. Just post something. Don't take a leap of faith. Take the next step 3. Hire a thumbnail expert for $10/thumbnail. I'd personally do this after the first couple of months so I can understand what's actually involved 4. Break down your goals. For example, if you want to make $2,000/mo and your RPM is $22, you would need 91,000 views per month.
I really love hearing the advice in this video. I definitely stress way too much over editing, and it really slows my process down. I know it has been shown and proven in many Think Media videos that the most perfect uploads are not needed to get views and subscribers. The content itself, and it's ability to connect with viewers and provide some form of value, is what matters more than anything else.
I can relate on this, my best edited videos get the lowest views ^^ and the one videos I almost did no edit to goes really well :S Mega strange, sure some of my love videos it shown and the stats its finally catching up on them :)
I can relate! I was a professional musician for over 20 years and always used to limit my solos to one take (I was a saxophone player). I would get stuck for hours trying to record, re-record, splice, edit, etc. I eventually had enough and limited myself to lay it down in one shot. I just recently started my channel (today) and am going to stick to the limited editing mindset. Best of luck on your journey!
Great advice... reminds me what my writing coach told me - just write. It might be a mess, but you can always edit, reshoot or what not. You can't get better if you don't start. That being said, I'm starting a new channel as an extension of the podcast my wife and I have. I'm concerned I won't be able to put in all the time necessary to make it a success.
“The dept” and your niche is the culmination of your essence.” I watched this twice now. This time taking notes and what you said here deeply resonates. I use essence for everything, to understand and express the “real” reasons or to describe the life or meaning behind “the thing.” This helped me understand me a bit better. So, thank you! 🙏🏽
I’m starting a business and I’ve earned 3 certifications in the field, was able to connect with Codie Sanchez and ask 4 questions about business and now I’m flying to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 to focus on my coaching business. I’m considering documenting my trip for RUclips to practice while away. I’ve bought two domains and working with AI coaches for prompt engineering and coaching classes.
Amazing video with valuable tips and insights on how to succeed on RUclips and make a sustainable income. You guys never disappoint with your content, and I can't wait to apply some of these tips you mentioned (I am also using a bit of Famester), and see enormous growth on my channel. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep up the great work.
This was RAD! Ive joined VRA and have been slow to start implementing what I've learned this far. I am my husband's social media manager, so my main focus is there. I learned here WHY he has only 1 video that has done well and now I need to get him on board making more these kinds of videos (Instead of a hodgepodge) so we can monetize what we've started about 8 years ago. His industry is changing so we need to step-up our game! Thanks for the motivation to move forward guys!
I didn't start my channel with the intention of making money. It was really about doing something completely out of my comfort zone and showing people what I do to stay physically active for a better quality of life as I get older. Also enjoying life with family and friends! Hence the name "Fitness and things". The more I do it, the more I enjoy it. The whole process. I'd have to say out of all of it, editing the videos is my favorite part! Never thought I would say that being that I'm technologically challenged, but learning more with every video I create! Now if I were to start making a little money someday, well that would just be icing on the cake! Good luck to everyone in 2024!!
This video is reminding me of why I started my channel in the first place. Thank you so much for all the little reminders and nudges that I needed to regroup, refocus, and get back out there this year. Be Blessed, Audrey
Thank you so much! Biggest take away for me was make it easy and just start. I over analyze, I over think. I definitely get analysis paralysis. I haven't started a channel yet but I will just start making things and see what happens and what I niche in. Also, I love the culture of think media to have scripture involved. I know that's not for everybody, I know that not everybody believes in the Bible, but I love that you guys include it. Thanks for the call to action. What's my next step. I love it
I like what you said about the editing! As a small RUclipsr, I used to think that more fast-paced edits, sound effects, etc. were what I needed to hold an audience’s attention. A couple weeks back, I ran an experiment on my channel where instead of doing my usual scripted, edited videos, I did no script (just bullet points) and only jump cuts for editing (cutting out breaths, silence, etc.). In the end, viewer duration was VERY similar to my more edited videos! I think the big thing there is that people still enjoy slower-paced videos with more authenticity. I do plan to do scripting and editing in my future videos, but my goal is to keep things feeling more natural and authentic while only doing edits if they truly add to the video
Was looking up info on how to grow my my channel I started about 2 months ago. Y’all have great info and are straight forward with it all. Definitely using the advice y’all talked about! 1:25
This so good. I’m 52 years old just started 2 RUclips channel 3 weeks ago trying to find my niche . Fitness motivation has been my life you have to move !! I appreciate this advice so much value
I wasn’t sure if it was too late, but knowing that we are the only one that can deliver our message in our own unique way makes me know if done correctly, success can and will happen! 😊
I do not think it's too late to start a RUclips channel. I think if you have clarity on what you want to create and systems that help to simplify the process coupled with an open mind to track and tweak results you'll build momentum faster and clear the clutter from what's out there.
Just starting out and got so much from this video! You guys do a great job of explaining how RUclips works and not to give up if a video doesn’t take off in a month or even a year. Lots of golden nuggets here!
Yes!! I believe there is opportunity!! And if there is no opportunity I create it!! One of my favorite mantras " I always find our create a way! If others have then so can I. Just because the street is crowded doesn't mean I can't get through! Daily progress is the key. Keep moving forward! Decide-shoot-post-learn-adjust-rinse and repeat!
Lots of nuggets here, thank you! I joined VRA 2 years ago but haven't implemented it the way I should due to health challenges and more honestly inner resistance. 2024 feels like a game changer though! I'm feeling healthy now and ready to move forward into the next season. These videos are super inspiring and helpful, thank you guys all so very much for all you do!
Very helpful! My next action step is to identify the obstacles holding me back and brainstorm a list of solutions. Wishing everyone success on their RUclips journey. ❤️ Hang in there and don't give up! Growth 📈 takes time. 🌱
This is CRAAAAZY good info in here! 100% agreed about keeping at it. Most of my videos didn't catch until a year later. Like Sean says, RUclips is a marathon, not a race!
This was great. So much knowledge being shared here. This is motivational, for sure. I hope we can teach monetization, as we continue to learn and try to improve our content. There are so many content creators here on RUclips with big dreams. Keep chasing your dreams, folks!
I have been sitting on the fence for years as a YT Creator want-a-be, I need to punch fear in the face, get my niche defined, learn how to edit, learn the SEO and move forward. I am a 'hard-acholic", I need those baby steps and make it easy - thank you! Most of all, I am a YT acholic, love the culture. Yes, I need the free pass for the 'discovery session'. The fitness parallel is perfect analogy. I am committing to one video per week for the next 4 weeks, just have to start as a YT content creator! Thank you!
I created several videos months and months ago, but keep "meaning to" title, edit, and caption the videos, so I've never posted them. Ugh. This gives me the reminder to just start, and make it easy.
Im just now hitting 200 subs after having my channel for over 3years and its very discouraging to have been going for so long with no results until this year I’m just now taking this group seriously and ive chosen to stop procrastinating and I’m ready to grow
Thank you SO much for the incredible encouragement, direction, and clarity you shared!! I have now attended your 1K Challenge as well! Because of this video and what was shared in the Challenge, I am so grateful to say that I have now started my RUclips Channel. Thank you so much to everyone making this content possible!!! 💗💗💗
this is the best video. not just cause of the technical content. But because it feels like we're there with you boys. including NATE! God Bless you gents.
I relate a lot to making things hard for myself! And at the end of the day I don’t do anything because I want to do something big every time. One step at the time. 😮💨
I am shifting my podcast to video first in 2024. I have two seasons and 22 episodes so far and most have video (recorded virtually via Riverside). Is it worth going back and editing all of the videos and posting them as entire episodes, or is not worth it and I should just turn the audio into audiograms with strong titles, thumbnails, etc.? Have you all tested audiograms vs. talking heads? Thanks for all of the great content!
I needed the reminder to not get hung up on the parts that discourage me, like editing. I also need to go back into my niche - I kind of deviated from it - and it didn't pay! Thank you!
Lol you talk about starting keto and that's actually my channel idea. Not exactly groundbreaking, I know, but I've lost 80 pounds (yes, 40 kilos) and learned how to fall in love with diet and excercise after 30 years of hating both. Now, after 2 years of educating myself on diet and training based on scientific literature, I'm planning my career switch. Should be fine cuz I worked years in graphic design, social media and video editing, but who knows. Thank you guys for all the advice.
I am going to be more focused on my YT channel in 2024. My live journey started in 2023 and today I have 164 videos in my live section. I am going to re-edit and post a lot of value videos in my Video section. Also going to start doing 3-4 shorts per week. Though its a bit difficult to make so much content, but will try my best to achieve that. Maybe every Sunday schedule for the whole week. Will follow a system like Sean says.
I have been watching RUclips videos before the copyright laws strike the channel since 2014; I am a consumer of the platform, and back then, making RUclips videos was harder to make without proper equipment. Fast forward to current times, and you can upload a RUclips video through your phone. The accessibility of uploading video has become so much easier. These features are not as advanced but it does make the video process less of a struggle. I am working on a Let's Play type of style for my channel and am learning how to use the 3rd person camera app to record. We can post videos more effectively nowadays. The" just do it" phrase means you are making the first step of doing something new and putting action not so much as a commitment. Activity is better than not being active on RUclips. I started a FB gaming channel back in 2021 as a livestream and I discontinued it because I didn't like how I recorded it and want to fix the production. I didn't know anything about using the camera effectively. It is more about how you can improve after you make the "Just do it" phrase and then you can make improvements into what you want to see through your content.
I'm hoping that it's not too late for me to start a RUclips channel. I've been struggling with things and being off and on, but listening to this video has given me some ideas and hope.
Omar, I think part of the reason that people watch your podcast is because we've been getting to know you from Think Media. So if your video pops up it's like let me see what he's talking about. So collaboration is another aspect of being on RUclips that can help you grow your channel.
I think I needed to hear that. If something is keeping me from keeping up with my once a week schedule... scrap it, at least for now. But build that consistency, then add it back.
This was such a great conversation. There were so many nuggets in this video. It's like being a fly on the wall of such a deep convo filled with tips. I loved that Omar was like amateur hours with the RPM but he's crushing it. Just goes to show that you don't really need to nerd out on the numbers. Just do the thing.
01:20 I think it's kind of 50/50 with the "it's harder to break through". Back in the day people would break through because every content was new on the planform and people would blow up because they were the first to do it. Now there's nothing new, somebody has already done videos in your niche and became popular. But what makes it not so hard now is that there's already a path, an algorythm that you can follow. Just watch what the popular youtubers are doing, how they are doing it, and make your videos as similar as possible while developing your own style.
I don’t think that it’s too late. As Sean has said many times, “Just get started”. You won’t hit number 1 on just your first video. If you are doing something that appeals to others, you will get there.
Come on Pastor Omar!!! I promise I am going to make my first two tonight! Literally have been an information hog! I am committing to ACT! Always love the videos!
The point about phases/seasons really hit home for me. I can definitely see how my progress up to now is the entry point for building skills and the ability to create consistent content. Hopefully, after participating in the Think Media RUclips 1k Challenge, I am moving into the next phase where I will begin to understand how RUclips works and I can position my videos to perform better.
Your channel has become my go-to as I move towards growing my channel for Holistic Trauma Healing in 2024. My heart is in the right place to suport healing and I trust this is GOD's work. Thank you for your gifts!

Thanks to think media I now have nearly 140,000 subscribers
Yep, they motivated me to finally start and find a good, cheap, set up 👌
Awesome. I just crossed the 1,000 sub mark a few days ago... not even trying.
I just 50 subs yesterday
Thats awesome. Congrats!

I’m just now taking this group seriously and ive chosen to stop procrastinating and I’m ready to grow
I really like your advice about keeping it simple when starting out and knowing you can break the rules at times.
I don't usually watch "podcasts" but this was such a blessing! Thank you, God bless
I’m tired of being a loser on RUclips 😢 2024 I will tackling my RUclips goals!
Rs
Go Getter!!!
This was really good. Thank you!
Great content and advice. Real and personal. Thank you!
I like the insight that you don't gain wisdom until you take the action based on the information or knowledge you gained! Powerful!
I needed the reminder to not get hung up on the parts that discourage me, like editing. I also need to go back into my niche - I kind of deviated from it - and it didn't pay! Thank you!
This happened to me.
My first ever video launched to 20K views after 2-3 months, and i thought it wasn't a good video.
JUST START!!!!
I started my channel by looking at the guidelines provided by you. Thank you so much for these
Every moment is special when you can do it for your self 😊❤
Number 1 recipe for winners 🥇 , never get discouraged!!!
Looking to grow and stay concistant this year. Here we go.
Great content! I started 2024 really motivated to start my channel, I have 13 followers and I will celebrate each one of them!
Such a great discussion. Think Media have been an incredibly valuable resource since I started my channel. Thanks so much for all the tips and advice.
Great overview of the Opportunity that lies ahead for us all in 2024.
We are headed into a time of great opportunity for content creators
It sounds like consistency is the key..🙂 Diet, exercise, record, and uploads!
Omar, I think part of the reason that people watch your podcast is because we've been getting to know you from Think Media. So if your video pops up it's like let me see what he's talking about. So collaboration is another aspect of being on RUclips that can help you grow your channel.
I love how they talked about consuming youtube even if you are a creator to help you know how the platform works, Thumbnails and many more.
It took me over a year to figure out what my niche was, but now my channel is doing amazing
I absolutely love that you added scripture into your video to make your point. God bless you guys!! 🔥😍
Such good information! Thank you!
I think I needed to hear that. If something is keeping me from keeping up with my once a week schedule... scrap it, at least for now. But build that consistency, then add it back.
This is what i have done for about 2 years… need more consistency but i have seen constant growth
So excited to dive deep into my RUclips channel this year, thank you for ask this valuable information!
Here from 12 days of Christmas!!! READY FOR 2024!!!!!!
I don’t think it’s too late to start a channel. Just need to find what you are interested in and share that with folks in a meaningful way.
