My biggest takeaway is that long form content to the tune of 20 minutes plus is just as popular as shorts. That's definitely doable for my channel. My videos range from like 8 minutes to over an hour.
I got fired for making RUclips videos at work so now I'm all in on this journey! Here are my personal notes from the video 13:46 - Do more repeatable long-form videos 20+ minutes 15:10 - Make 60 second shorts has a trailer for long-form-end on cliff hanger 16:50 - Small percentage actually clicks the related tab 21:29 - What is storytelling? 23:20 - Tapping into human emotions-Make them feel understood for education channels 27:21 - Authentic background-Same clothes 36:40 - Storytelling 39:05 - Preston Goes channel 50:55 - VidIQ - Outliers 56:30 - Creators over 40 1:03:10 - This video will find you right when you need to hear this 1:20:20 - Takeaways 1:22:15 - Live thumbnail edit 1:26:28 - Yea but once I click the video and I see that Sean is not in the same room from the thumbnail, then I will feel deceived 🤷🏾♂ 1:28:40 - Q&A Begins
1:09:18 The lawn-mowing and free yard makeover videos are really satisfying to watch imo, seeing people helping other people just feels good, and it's visually appealing
Cursive, emotional fonts! Hee! I love it. I am doing a book on Revelation, and my cover designer is fab, and she did a fab font for the title that is very girly and emotional and whimsical, and I told her to go with that font. But I have since decided to go with a less whimsical but still slightly feminine font. The book of Revelation and particularly one of the biggest events that we will cover for the first time ever in this book is so very dark and serious - the greatest tragedy since time began apart from the cross. With all of that darkness and seriousness, a whimsical title font felt quite inappropriate. And yet I hope that no one will fault me with a feminine font since the title and focus is "The Birth of Revelation," a decidedly feminine perspective on these last days.
Pain point!!!!! So many times I’ll click on how to video and I’m frustrated because the influencer is not taking to me, but talking to an audience who already understands. If I already understand, I don’t need to watch the video.
The more I learn about the RUclips Algorithm the more I wonder if building a Title around CTR and Curiosity versus SEO is a good idea. Seems like you want to make sure your video is as enticing as possible when it shows up on that personal RUclips homepage. Think of how many times you go on youtube and just click on one of the first 8 videos on the homepage versus how many times you've actually typed something into the search bar lately
I'm really interested in the idea of making shorts as a type of movie trailer for my long form videos. I think that's brilliant for the type of videos that I make, many over an hour long.
I’m only a 1/3 through but I am happy with amount of helpful information this video has. It’s actually helpful information for a me as I’m not new to RUclips so I have the basics generally down. So I’m looking for something that will actually help and this particular video has from you guys. So, thank you.
I don’t like that they’ve lumped another metric into the thumbnail test. I understand the thinking, but you could have a great thumbnail and a terrible video…but that metric doesn’t allow you to evaluate the thumbnail separately.
How to go viral...God, that's it! That's your secret to success! Jesus Christ, consistency, and hardwork!!! Hope this helps someone! God bless! 👍🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾💯
Good morning! Baby Boomer here. I need your help. When uploading my videos, I put a checkmark on both "Publish to subscriptions feed" and "Notify subscribers." However, later that day, when I go back into the video settings, the "Notify subscribers" checkmark is removed. This has happened to all of my videos. How can I fix this and make sure it doesn’t happen again?
Spectacular thumbnails? 🏅 That's my latest opinion.😮 you can have a 10 out of 10 content with 4 out of 10 thumbnail and fail. And you can have 4 out of 10 content with 10 out of 10 thumbnail and WIN.😂. My observation but please give feedback. Thanks.🎉
06:18 I've noticed this as well. I hear what YT is trying to do, but it doesn't support the deep diver. I read cards for a particular collective. The subject/topic is constantly changing and can't really be limited to a "niche", even though it is one, anything can come up. My viewers are like me, they binge-watch on the current topic. We wouldn't want anyone to force-feed listeners but it would be helpful if YT balanced this by showing subscribers videos. My videos have like a 10%+ CTR but as of the past month or so, YT is showing less than 10% of my subscribers my videos, which ordinarily I'd accept, but not when I have commenters surprised I'm still posting videos because they haven't been seeing them? I don't know. Comments are telling me my content is improving but my views are plummeting, and my subscriber count does this weird +1 then +2 ping pong game which is annoying. I also saw that my topic is categorised as "religion", possibly because of one time I deep-dove into a biblical topic which gained me a whole lot of subs. Creators in my real category fall under "sociology/lifestyle". I think that if a subscriber hasn't watched a channel for over 2 months, they should let the sub lapse. I also think they should allow the invisible categories of non-performing channels to be refreshed, given new videos a fighting chance, otherwise starting an entirely new channel and avoiding bringing Jesus up even once, becomes a serious consideration.
Any suggestions on getting more than 20 to 100 views per upload? Years ago I had a few that randomly got thousands..but now I feel like I’m back to ghost channel
I'm 4:20 in the video and none of the content I watched so far is a trend. I love think, I love the new guy on the camera but the content doesnt align with the title. Please do what you teach: deliver on thumbnail and title..
All of this is 20-30 years old.... It's exactly the same thing Google asked for with websites and ranking in search engines.... P.s Google's was always about the gatekeeping of information rather than the user (as it claims), however this has been changing over the years to direct psychology manipulation and social conditioning...
Sorry but given all of the issues IV had with not only U tube and google not for me and I'll be looking at only my music library sleeper dude library railroad library that I'll be having put on a laptop computer and hard and no more technology why its all crap technology
Think media, I would love for you all to help me with my channel. I love what I am doing, just not seeing a lot of traction. All and any help is appreciated. My niche might just be too weird
