He asks great questions. This was a good video. No matter how many times I watch you wash a car I learn something.
I appreciate that
More DIY goodness!!!
Thanks
Had lots of fun learning and working with Yvan. Great video as always!
Thanks for inviting me!
Perfect timing guys thanks! I’m at my parents for our Christmas. And I gifted my Dad a DIY “kit”. I got him a Home Depot HDX bucket because it had measurements on the side. I got the grit guard and half a wall. Along with DIY DETAIL Ceramic gloss, quick beads, rinseless, legacy sponge, all clean, interior clean and protect. I also got him an auto fiber drying towel and rag company nice pack of microfibers for whatever. We ve been watching videos together and he s trying to learn before we go out and do it and this video was so perfect!! Thank you for creating some father daughter time something we both enjoy and my Dads new van is going to look glossy glossy!
That is awesome. I will tell you, though - I have the Grit Gurad and half wall and took the half wall out months ago for rinseless washing. You are far better off with additional room to soak and release contamination from the sponge than to have the added grit gurard area. The on in the bottom of the bucket is plenty for the DIY rinseless application.
The half wall is really designed for soap washing and the need to 'scrub' the dirt/grit off of the wash pad. Rinseless and the legacy sponge don't have the need for the scrubbing in the bucket.
That’s great, and one of the reasons DIY Detail exists, making detailing a fun family activity.
Great video Yvan! Nice work Randy. Been doing rinseless for years but I still thoroughly enjoy Yvan's wash-n-learn sessions 😊
Thank you
Great tuition and patience. Meticulous attention to detail. Addictive viewing 👌
Thank you!
Yvan, I admire your work ethic. I have a small company, as well. We distribute regionally. Most people don't realize how much work it all takes.
Thank you.
Yvan i found the gold life hack for the e foam sprayer you are using in this video. With 256:1 dilution of rinseless wash, ditch the foam tip and attach the sprayer nozzle. I tried it today and i’m betting that you are going to love the result
Thanks for the tip!
I think the rinseless wash would be great for doorjambs and other painted areas that you don't want to be exposed to a pressure washer. Except that I might prefer a smaller sponge for those areas.
The legacy sponge is quite nimble, but also you can use a plush MF towel
I use a microfiber and a drying towel on tight door jamb areas that i don't feel comfortable squeezing my legacy sponge into. Both do an excellent job on door jambs.
This is the most educational detailing channel I’ve found. Thank you for making these videos!!
Thanks for watching!
I complete up to 5 vehicles using one bucket of rinsless washing. Foam, rinse, rinseless applied then wash and dry per panel.
Perfect
Redundancy is a very good thing👌 keep doing what you dooooo!!!
Yes it is!
My first polish was a 1980 Datsun 210. Thanks for the great video guys!
Very cool! our pleasure
And about this legacy sponge , I did so many test and found that the red foam has different feels it flex easier and also leave different water trace than the black foam side , the black feels softer and more dense type foam it’s leave few water drops that’s more beads type water trace on the surface and with that i start with red and finish with the black side as i feel it works better for me , just my opinion : D
They are in effect the same with the exception of the dye used
Love the rinseless wash, allows me to keep detailing my cars in the winter!
Us too!
Great rinse less wash tutorial, enjoyed watching and continued learning, thanks. Love the way you did whole car no hose or pressure washer.
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful
Teaching young people, I love it 👍😁
Yes, thank you
Ivan, are you Canadian I see the Quebec plate. I am in Ottawa Ontario . I am new to the Rinse less wash and as a weekend worrier love the results. Love your videos too.
Yes Yvan is Canadian
i’m in palm beach too! sorry the weather isn’t as good as it normally is yvan but it beats the heck out of omaha and quebec. my neighbors are also from quebec. 👍
Yes, in Omaha at the moment, freezing and snowing.
Watching someone do a rinseless wash in sunny Florida while it’s 20f outside where I live. Can’t wait for it to get warmer so I can wash my car.
Lots of people feel this way:)
The comment about using the same towel to dry the wheels that you used in the paint got my attention. I’ve always used towels I use just for wheel to dry them.
If you’re as thorough in cleaning the paint as the wheels, there is no reason to use another towel.
Can you do a video on interior cleaning with the rinseless solution and its limitations for interior cleaning
It would be a very short video, almost no limitations,
This sprayer is really useful tool for car detailing , I use griot’s garage thing and it’s really amazing to use with the DIY details rinsless in the sprayer setting as it’s also foams a little.
Also I was wanna ask about the capacity of the bucket of rinseless wash and Thnks for answering that in the video.
Thank you
Nice to see this in real time. Can the tire shine be used on other parts of the car like mud flaps or the black grill
I would prefer Ceramic Gloss on those areas as opposed to the tire shine. To each his own.
Yes, it does a great job on all rubber and plastic
great job team!
Thank you!
Exactly!
Thanks
You mention that Ceramic Gloss provides up to 6mos of protection. Is there any downside to using it as a drying lubricant every wash, even if I wash my car every week? No risk of buildup of the product? Thanks!
No issue with using it often
Awesome! How do you like that sprayer? I ordered the exact same one and it just arrived and I haven’t cracked it open yet. My understanding is that it comes with two types of nozzles-one for spraying and one for foaming. If that’s the case, the spray (non-foaming) nozzle would be ideal for rinseless, right? Really looking forward to my first rinseless with your product, and I can already see from this video how much time I’ll save! Thank you!
So far so good, the one I received only has the foaming nozzle
@@diydetailofficial Good to know! I just opened my box and it has two different foam nozzles and one metal spray nozzle. I'm pretty sure I got the exact same bottle, so you may want to double check. The extra nozzles and a spare rubber washer came in a small ziploc bag. I don't know how the two foam nozzles are different, but they do have a different pattern.
@nokibuyo interesting, no such bag with ours
Im subscribed to both of the guys. Very good video. Rinseless wash is the bees knees
Thank you
Does the rinseless wash get rid of bugs and tar? Or is there another product for that and what step in the process of exterior detailing would you use said product?
For bugs yes, for tar DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover is best. Use it after the contact wash
Great video. Does using Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid damage your drying towels ?
If you put them in your wash bucket after use, The surfactant will prevent the ceramic from crosslinking.
What do you do about cleaning brushes? I use the green brush on the wheels and throw it in the wash bucket when I'm finished and it pretty much takes care of itself. What about the tire dressing brush? Should I clean that? Should I be doing more to clean the green brush?
For the tire dressing brush, do the same as your green brush every 20-30 details.
So if the sponge is on the verge of dripping and it is able to absorb water on the paint, since the rinseless has encapsulated much of the dirt, it also absorbs/ takes in the encapsulated dirt. Have I got it?
Yes
Did not see getting the dirty wheel wells getting washed, why is that?
This was more of a maintenance wash
If you rinse the rinseless off on a dirty car, is it necessary to respray some rinseless back on the car before the contact wash?
It’s best
With Ceramic Gloss, does using it on a dry car give better durability than using it as a drying aid?
Very minimaly
dang randy taller than I thought lol he looked smaller in his videos
Cool
How do you clean the wheel barrel with rinseless?
Could I do a traditional wheel wash and the paint I use rinseless? My Audi produces a ton of brake dust.
A bucket and brushes
Is it ok to reuse the rinseless water out of the bucket even if it’s dirty after doing a car? You said you could do around 4 cars with 4 gallons but after I do one car with rinseless the water is quite nasty.
Yes it is
How long should you wait after you put the 8 year ceramic coating before adding the 3 year ceramic coating
2-8 hours
Thank you
To save chemical, could I just spray rinseless onto the car and have water in the bucket as a rinse bucket? Or is it important rinseless wash is in the bucket as well as sprayed onto the car.
You want the rinseless solution in the bucket. It is what flushes the dirt/contaminants out of the sponge and also keeps lubrication on the surface of the vehicle for protection when drying. If you buy it by the gallon, it is extremely affordable and will last an individual many months washing their vehicles at home.
It’s important to have it in the bucket
Thank you this has been a burning question of mine for some time.
I like saying "towel lube" instead of drying aid. Sounds fun lol
Nice
does drying aids make drying towl less effective or less abosbant after few drying sessions?
It can.
So how would a detailing business tell their customers, “we wash your car and not using traditional soap” ?
There’s no need to tell the customer, they are paying for a result, not a process
In this scenario, where a hose is not used, what is the best way to address cleaning the dirty wheel wells?
You can use a bucket with a scrub brush and rinseless in it for wheel wells and wheels/tires. After scrubbing, I use rinseless in an IK sprayer loaded with rinseless to flush away any leftover particles. The rinseless wash has actual cleaning power and will break all kinds of dirt/grime down - given enough time.
Probably don't waste your time. They get dirty instantly anyway. Wait until you can do a wash with running water.
Lots of options, first is don’t do them, you can use brushes, MF towels, sprayers . The limit is your time and availability of tools.
I’m thinking of adding the green, flag-tipped brush to the rinseless wash bucket and scrubbing the wheel wells at the end of the wash-to not dirty the wash bucket early.
Perfect
When you ceramic coat wheels do you coat the barrels as well?
Yes if possible
You should sell some merch!
We will soon
Do you ever clean your tire shine brush between jobs?
Yes
Not too much, when you apply the tire lotion in the tire your tire are clean
Beyond the limits but never rinsless? First time for everything!
First but not last
This kid is soooooo slow moving. It’s not rocket science
He is methodical, and this was his first ever Rinseless Wash
And he never stops talking!
I can’t believe anyone believes this stuff. I would like to see him do his own 75k dirty car.
Once you have actually used a Rinseless Wash, you will see that it’s perfectly safr
You are very stiff with your movements while rinseless washing. Loosen up and go the entire width of the panel. No pressure is your friend. Good luck!
This was his first ever wash with any form of Rinseless.
@@diydetailofficial By the end he was looking like a pro!
First!!!!!
Thank you
oh yeah! so thats how you use DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss + TRC Liquid8r .. thank you for this!
**looks like RUclips is looking at my online shopping cart, to have recommended this video to me hahah
