My son used to paint intricate details when he was into Warhammer collectibles. He used to use microbrushes from the local hobby shop. I find these microbrushes are great for filling rock chips. I take the brush out of the touchup paint tube, put the paint on the microbrush and dab it into the chip. If the chip is really small, I pull the "puff" off the microbrush and just use the tip.
What a great educational video! Yvan was telling the truth about water spots back when RUclips was telling us to polish water spots. For carpet of the yarn turns colors than it has been dyed and the only way to fix it is to dye the yarn again which can look worse than the stain. Glass polishing works but you may be buying a new shoulder after polishing for a few hours. Hopefully the detailing industry tackles odor removal in the future. I use to keep a box of baking soda with holes punched through the face of the box under the seats. Great tip for removing concrete and I will be adding this to my arsenal. Thank you guys for a great video.
Some of these newer cars require a windshield calibration on top of the expensive windshield replacement. So a windshield for a newer car is no longer $250 like back in the good ole days! Try $1000-2000 with calibration... I think I'll live with the scratches! 😆
Another great one DIY! The apple and sugar are new ones to me. A razor blade and steel wool works miracles on windshields with water spots, don’t use steel wool on the mirrors! I only have 50 TDS in my water, so no major spotting issues for me. Going to pick up some of your water spot remover aka mineral remover. I’m now a huge DIY fan. The best part about your company is with your knowledge we can get professional results at home, and it’s a great de-stresser (is that a word?). Any suggestion for sealing white Telsa seats, so make them more transfer resistant? Will use interior cleaner to remove existing transfer, but want something to prevent future transfer. Thx again Y & N!
i had one time my window polished for 150 euro after the polishing i still had a lot of little minor chips. after contacting a window dealer they installed a new window for 369 complete new. yeah it was more expensive but im still glad that i changed the complete window it was definitly worth it. I still regret the 150 for the polishing because the irregulations where still in the glass, and after 300000km its not that expensive for the sight you get
L W Auto detailing has a video on removing water spots from car paint, he applied meguires wheel brightner to a micro fiber towel and applied the micro fiber to the area of the water spot area, and then applied a spray wax to a new micro fiber towel.
Nick and Yvan, or Yvan and Nick, if you will: Currently the website shows that you are out of the 5.5" waffle pads and the legacy sponge. Will these products be available to for the Black Friday sale? Ty for all you do!
@@diydetailofficial okay then. I will need to hide my Black Friday order from my wife and then combine it with whatever Christmas promotion order I make! Tangential question: for a company like DIY, are the shortages a result of growing pains or lingering logistics / transport bottlenecks?
Yvan, it would be great if you would cover in more detail, in a separate video or podcast, the pros/cons of having PPF installed vs going with ceramic coating alone. Budget aside, when would you recommend getting PPF? Are there reasons, again other than budget, not to get PPF? Care and maintenance, etc.....Thanks
Just purchased a decontamination towel. If I use an iron remover or a clay lube as lubrication can I simply rinse the panel or should I soap it and rinse again? Thanks
Quick question Yvan, when you used to offer your WCC service to your clients, how often would your customers come back in a year on average for another WCC from you? Meaning how many times a year would they buy that WCC package from you in a year on average? I'm asking for business LTV research purposes and so I would greatly appreciate your wisdom on this :)
I have a question Ivan, when using Carnubra wax can you use a damp cloth to wip it off and then a dry micro fibre or does the damp micro gibre wipe the wax off ?
I know I've asked something similar to this before but I am really eager to try the waffle pad and decon towel, I just want to know roughly when (weeks/months/years) they will be available in the uk from a trusted reliable source like amazon or ebay? Is it in the pipeline? Even my detailing supplier can't get hold of them and they usually stock everything, they have several of your liquid chemical based products (a few of which I have purchased and been quite impressed with) but nothing in your "accessories" range yet unfortunately
That's funny I always wondered what would happen if you just didn't wipe wax off. I was tempted to leave it on once cause I was too tired to take it off lol
haha there are easier ways nowadays to protect your car, but we are working on a wax because we know people still like a good car wax. It can be very meditative (if a lot of work) to apply
How do I get rid of the film that builds up on the inside of my windshield? I don’t smoke or use vent clips/car air fresheners. The windshield looks clean but I notice what looks like a film if I catch it at the right angle.

A lot of information in a short amount of time! I remember looking at Yvan's video polishing Granby's zoo aquarium windows and it turn out amazing!

😳😲😁 ALOTS OF GOOD POINTS 💯👌

Much appreciated tips. Any pointers to remove glue sticky residue from Interior plastics (dash boards) from left over velcro and old white glue
Unfortunately what dissolves glue can also damage plastics
L W Auto detailing has a video on removing water spots from car paint, he applied meguires wheel brightner to a micro fiber towel and applied the micro fiber to the area of the water spot area, and then applied a spray wax to a new micro fiber towel.
Cool
Yes, like our DIY Detail Water Spot Remover, on a fresh, non etched water spot, acid will remove it, but with much higher risks.
For cloth seat can we spray rinseless and use handbrush or drill brush? Or better to just use damp towel over let it dwell?
Yes you can use both.
Nick and Yvan, or Yvan and Nick, if you will: Currently the website shows that you are out of the 5.5" waffle pads and the legacy sponge. Will these products be available to for the Black Friday sale? Ty for all you do!
Unfortunately, no -- we are probably not getting either in stock until December (at the earliest). We are waiting on Lake Country

Tangential question: for a company like DIY, are the shortages a result of growing pains or lingering logistics / transport bottlenecks?
can you post procedure for peanut oil? dwell time, removal etc thanks!
Wash car first, apply peanut oil, allow to dwell about 30 mins, pressure wash, and wash again
@@diydetailofficial pour on maybe a foam block? probably too thick to spray I would imagine....
Yes a MF towel or foam applicator

Is the SDT compatible with the water spot remover or will it damage the towel somehow?
They are not compatible.
Just purchased a decontamination towel. If I use an iron remover or a clay lube as lubrication can I simply rinse the panel or should I soap it and rinse again? Thanks
Just rinse after
So just your regular kingsford or regular bar b que briquettes in any cloth bag will work? And if so how long before changing in out?
Yes, once a week

Average was 2 per year
@@diydetailofficial Thank you for sharing!
For washing tractors and semi we use brushes. Could you add an oz of rinseless wash with your car soap in your bucket to help with swirls.
And we always pre treat before cleaning. So foam on apc or car soap and rinse before we foam it again
Yes, do your pre treat, rinse then simply wash with DIY Detail Rinseless Wash.
Any tips on how to tackle bee poops? they're kind of waxy and don't seem to dissolve too well with rinseless wash
DIY Detail Tree SAP Remover.
I have a question Ivan, when using Carnubra wax can you use a damp cloth to wip it off and then a dry micro fibre or does the damp micro gibre wipe the wax off ?
Highly variable depending on the wax.,
@@diydetailofficial so im guessing then dont use a damp micro fibre when using carnubra wax
Do I use Iron remover first or water spot remover after washing the car?
Contact Wash
-DIY Detail Iron Remover with Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel
-Rinse
-DIY Detail Water Spot Remover
-rinse
-dry

They are on the way. If your supplier doesn’t have it, ask them to order it for you.
Do I wash and clay before water spot removal?
Yes
Will tree sap remover weaken ceramic gloss? Will you need to reapply
It doesn’t
@@diydetailofficial much appreciated 👍
I disagree with the half cut apple idea, there is a risk of mold and attracting insects.
Having done it many times in the last decades, that’s never been a problem.
@@diydetailofficial interesting,

compared to spraying on Ceramic Gloss or Quick Beads, that is:)
Fresh ground coffee beans work well for odor removal
I would love if my car smelled of fresh ground coffee
Good idea
For high spot, can I use orbital with gold standard pad ? Or that’s too aggressive?
Best done by hand
What about light scuff marks on door panels or dashboards? How do you remove those?
Those are difficult if they are actually scratched.
They are not deep scratches. Only very light marring. But they are noticeable.
Ready
as always:)

It’s off gassing of the plastics, frequently cleaning will fight it best.

Can you use gold standard on windows and or headlights
Yes
I sure do it works great especially with a polisher
Why are acid wheel cleaners dangerous for removing waterspots?
What are the risks?
Don't use it on windows it can etch into the glass
They can damage plastics , glass and rubber. Plus there are personal safety concerns.
I've used an acid wheel cleaner, on the entire exterior, plastics and rubbers included, for months now, and never had any damage issues.
