    this card definitely isn't for everyone, but worth noting that if you're actually running a business, the annual fee is tax deductible as a business expense since its a business card(just found that out from an article) so that sort of saves money; as someone who bulk buys from Canada(no FTF) and can easily spend $5k+ at once, this fits me perfectly along with the nice welcome bonus

    This card would've been a perfect fit for me if they were UR pts. It makes a lot of sense for us due to high spend. However, my business partner and I prefer the UR pts with the CSR which makes the unlimited 2.25cpp at a minimum

    Great video. I recently did a lot of research looking for the best reward card. I evidently didn’t read the fine print that cash back means points. Everyone told me American Express platinum is the way to go but I felt like Chase Ink business premier was more straight forward.

    this is the card with my highest limit (around 50k), for my business which is very inventory -reliant, it is perfect for me. The spending power largely outweighs the annual fee

      Makes sense :) Depending on your turnover cycle, it might make sense to add in the Amex Plum as well. That's another fan favorite for inventory heavy business owners.

    So if I were to ask how much I need to spend to determine when it makes more sense to choose the Ink Premier, the answer is that “It’s over $9,000!”
    …why does this phrase sound so familiar?

    I'm getting some of that Chicken the next time I am in SF. You made some valid points about the Premier, and I really like the one concerning co-mingle of points or as I see it switching out cards when you can keep that one in place for specific orders that you know are always going to be over $5000. However, I feel just like the Hyatt Business all over again, this can turn out to be a niche within a niche use case. Even if I moved up into a 7 or even 8 figures income bracket. I would still want to maximize my UR or MR points hoping to get that special invitation to the Palladium or Centurion cards. I don't see many cases of me setting for just cash back when I had always had the option of cashback or UR points. The possibility of oversize value is gone, it's just $1000 for the sign-up bonus, that's it.
    Sometimes using your superpowers always makes sense regardless of whatever else you do.

    • @AskSebbyBusiness
      @AskSebbyBusiness  Год назад +3

      Yep! I don't think this card is made for "us" -- feels like the pure cash back crowd who always gets angry when I talk about travel 🙃
      Side note: IIRC JPM Reserve (fka Palladium) is just by asset level. Centurion is super weird because you effectively need to forgo your MR points (spend primarily needs to be on your Platinum and Platinum Business).

      I have Amex Plat, CSP, AA Platinum, CO Sparks Cash Plus, Hilton Aspire. I put my business spending into various cards depending on what I want to do. Yes travel is one of them but the cash back is good too because an extra 100k is better than having lots of points stored on another card which does accumulate points as well. People that don't have high spend limits wont benefit greatly from this card but for those that can it makes a big difference going from 2% to 2.5%. I just made 15k with the new rate.

  • @georgeloveless4848

    I really wanted this card as I do a lot of transactions over 5k. But I was under the impression you could transfer the points. Now I’m not sure what to do…. This is Chases only 2% card. I’ve got several other 2% cards but was really wanting the transfer and 2.5% …..

      Another restaurant owner here. Most of my spending doesn’t fall in the elevated categories for other cards. Primarily use the Chase ink unlimited. But got a nice bonus ($1000 for 10k spend) and will only be using this card for bills over $5000k. The math Shebby provided makes sense for me.

      The main issue is that you need to value lounge perks to justify the Platinum CS. Many of those people also value aspirational travel over cash back.
      If Platinum CS is a fit (or at least breakeven) then I think it's fine for the ~4.4% cash back.

    Does Chase Ink Business Premier require a Personal Guarantor and if so, which credit bureaus they use to check credit score?

    • @AskSebbyBusiness
      @AskSebbyBusiness  Год назад +1

      All Chase business cards require personal guarantee AFAIK. Bureaus depend on your state (should be data points on forums).

  • @ramonsuarez1051
    @ramonsuarez1051 Год назад

    Chase says somewhere in their literature that letting cardholders transfer these points to travel cards would be too generous. I could see that someone with a CSR might be getting at minimum 3.75% on large purchases. Still, someone with the Ink Cash and CSR is redeeming for an effective minimum of 7.5% at office supply stores and probably stocking up on gift cards. Chase should do better. I wouldn't even consider this card.

    • @AskSebbyBusiness
      @AskSebbyBusiness  Год назад +2

      My guess is that Chase doesn't care about "small timers" (office supply stores) BUT are concerned by inventory heavy businesses or ad managers ($100k to $1M a month).

    • @JVIPER88
      @JVIPER88 Год назад

      The 5X for the Ink Cash is capped at $25K, so the "damage" is limited. For business owners with big spend who might find the Premier card appealing, they could spend $25K in one or two transactions, and just keep going. I hope Chase isn't considering messing around with the other business cards going forward...

  • @deadlimedragon
    @deadlimedragon Год назад

    I actually just applied for 4 of these for 4 businesses I own that will do a combined 35k~ a month in inventory and other categories that don’t fall under traditional business bonus spend. Looking at the numbers you provided verified what I thought, while my break even is significantly higher, it makes sense easily still. Especially with sign up bonuses. Two separate names so even if I only get two I’m undoubtably ahead.

    • @AskSebbyBusiness
      @AskSebbyBusiness  Год назад

      It's actually a pretty solid catch-all card if you don't care about points (for aspirational travel).
      Depending on spend level, I'd also look into the Citi Premier given the upside (TY transfers to partners).

  • @jeppusahn

    💳 I run an ecomm business so I use heavy spenders like the biz platinum and the spark plus charge cards. I wanted to add this card to the rotation because of the CB and the high spending limits (common to see 100k+ on this card)
    I got an invitation code from chase to apply for the card by jan 2nd. My credit score took a slight hit during q4 because that's when we ramp up.
    Wasn't sure if I should wait for my credit to recover before applying, or apply before the invitation expired. Ended up applying Jan 1st and got denied.
    My question is - do these invitations to apply mean anything? Do they actually give you an increased chance of getting approved, or should I have waited for the credit to rebound first

    • @AskSebbyBusiness
      @AskSebbyBusiness  Год назад +1

      Invitations tend to be spray and pray. Main draw is (potentially) elevated offers but they typically don't increase approval odds.

      1) Try applying
      2) If rejected, you might need to pay them back
      3) If amount is high, probably just move on to a different issuer (i.e., $15k is probably not worth it since you can't derive the same value back)
