I never realized what I was missing until I applied for my first business credit card. In my opinion, this is really the cheat code to getting upsized value from the credit card game. As long as you can meet the (usually) higher amount of spend required to hit the welcome bonuses on these cards, the rewards you get for doing so is pretty insane. This was a really comprehensive guide that'll help a ton of people out, so great work on it as always man!
Yeah these business cards unlock so much more from the credit card game and so many people can get approved with them. Thanks as always for the support Spencer!

Believe it or not, I was afraid to apply for a business credit card a few years ago. I remember when you applied for one of the Chase Ink business cards a few years ago (was it the Ink Unlimited? I can't remember which one 😂. Fast forward to the end of 2022, I applied for my first business credit card with Amex and was approved for the BBP! Then a few months later, I went with the Chase Ink Cash and was approved again. I definitely value not having my business credit card balances reported to my credit report. It helped me to finance a new Mac Studio, that I have the cash to pay in full, but with interest rates well over 4% APY, i'm holding onto that cash during the 0% intro APR period.
I get the sense WAY more people can apply for business cards than they think can. It’s really not as exclusive as people think. My wife got approved as a sole prop with zero years in business and zero income. And business cards have HUGE value. Great video Daniel!
100% agree! So many people can get approved and the fact that Chase applications have that auto-filled field for sole props should hopefully show that more people can apply. Thanks for watching Ethan, appreciate it man!
I payed for a semester of classes on a business card as a sole prop and instantly cleared the signup bonus. As covid happened I forgot about the card and it closed out over inactivity once I was ready to actually use it for its intended purpose.
Business Credit Cards are soooo huge that can basically take the rewards you already getting from personal Cards and then really opening the floodgates to the amount of rewards you can get from business Credit and the flexible points currencies that come from that. Just got my first card- Hilton Honors Business and excited to get some others like the AMEX BBP as well. Great point though in that business Cards are so much more accessible than most people think. Great video Daniel!
Great content Daniel. I want to start some rewards and like the Chase family and plan to add a card every six moths for sign up bonuses. Should I start with a person or business card, have not opened a new card in 2-4 years? Also, where is the best site to find the limited time deals where extra bonuses are offered? Right now not sure if 60K sign up points are avg/good or great.
Great video! Loving my BBP right now and I’m hoping that as my business grows I’ll be able to take advantage of some of the higher SUB that some of the chase cards have. Can’t quite hit those spending requirements right now so not worth adding them to my wallet.
Great video on this subject! My Capital One Spark does *not* report to my personal credit btw. But I believe the product that I have is not offered anymore. I did read on MyFico board that they report to personal credit these days, and only that disqualifies Capital1 in my eyes for any new business card in the future.
Thanks so much for watching Ori, I'm glad I was finally able to make this video! And yeah maybe it varies on older Capital One cards but as far as I know now it's new cards from them that do report to personal credit.
What about if I genuinely don't have anything that qualifies as a business and I don't have time or energy to go for side-hustles because I'm a college student?
The Chase Quadfecta/Superfecta with the use of the CIC to buy gift cards for 5% then using the gift cards to buy groceries, dining, and utilities makes it better than the Amex trifecta.
Got my 5th Business card last month and for the first time ever, Amex asked me to send in 4 months of Business Checking Statements... They made sure to specify Business Checking. They may be getting strict on approvals.
I was approved for Hilton Honors Business on May 13, met SUB last week, applied and was instantly approved for BBP last night. Amex hasn’t reached out to me about business checking.
Hey, big question. I live in the UK but selling in the USA on amazon and ordering from Alibaba, what kind of business card should I use? Most business credit cards require resident proves? Please
What’s the point of Business credit? Outside of a publicly traded company, any bank will force the business owner to back the loan with their personal credit.
The purpose is to not have the high business utilization show up on your personal credit report therefore tanking your personal credit score. It also makes it much easier to keep your business spending separate from your personal spending. The reason why you should do that is when you do your taxes you don’t have to try to remember what was personal spending that you should not try to write off as a business expense . Yes you are still personally responsible for the business debts and rightfully so since you’re the one running the business.
Not my experience with Chase Bank. They would not allow for me to use my EIN, they only wanted my SSN. But hey that Debit Card is great (sarcasm)! At the time my FICO score was 758. Discrimination at its best with 150K in their Bank. WOW!
hey i know this video has been out for awhile, i’ve been watching your vids for a good time now too as of recently on two different accounts and being subscribed:). quick question though. if i get the ink chase card and don’t have a sapphire card would i be able to transfer points from the unlimited freedom card and the flex one ?
I want to start a pressure washing business but don’t have to money to get all the equipment to do it properly $5,000-10,000 give or take. Can I get a business card to get the equipment and everything to start recouping the money? If not what’s the best way?
You can use a business credit card to buy all the equipment but you have to make sure you can make profit quick enough to start paying back those credit card bills
I haven’t found a direct answer in any other video or online so if you can answer that’d be great! My question is I saw somewhere that Amex cards affect credit history differently in that when you apply for whatever amount of cards, they all start at the oldest date of your first card; is this true? For ex. If I got an Amex blue cash in 2012 and then next week I get a Amex gold then would my avg. length of credit increase since the gold would “inherit” the older credit history of 10+years? Or is that wrong and Amex is like all other cards where the new credit line would knock down the avg age of credit? Thanks for your help!
Amex works like any other credit card issuer. I currently have 10 Amex. The date they report on your credit is the day that you're approved. You do not inherit the time from the first card
While applying for Amex business credit card they don't provide any option for LLC. They only have 3 options which are Sole Proprietorship, Partnership and Corporation. Can you help me how to apply for Amex Business Plus Card?
Would the IRS learn that I started a side hustle by doing this application? Didn’t plan on separating out the tax stuff yet, was just gonna say it’s all personal. Also do you think I’d have no issue getting an employee card for my wife, even as a sole prop with just an SSN? I do want to have a player 2 on my card, but don’t have an EIN thing going. Specifically for the BBP. Was thinking of applying this week. Very timely video. I don’t really have revenue yet but have been doing school and other preparations before I start freelancing.
So even if you just do the side hustle all under your name then you would just report any profits or losses from that under your personal returns anyway. They're not going to tell the IRS that you opened a business credit cards because that could mean anything - the IRS is mainly concerned about whether you owe them money for taxes. For the employee cards you should have no problem adding employee cards if you want to because that's a feature many cards have. You as the primary account holder are still ultimately responsible for purchases on employee cards, so from the Amex point of view there's not much that changes. Hope that helps!
