This is one the best Death Metal tunes I've ever heard. I was optimistic after the intro and wasn't disappointed when the main tune kicked in. Great hooks, a killer riff, and an all-round good experience, well produced, well structured and I like the way the coda cycles you back to the intro - it makes want to go round that cycle several times. It will be awesome played live. A must-listen for metalheads. My Score: Very Good 4*

I gotta disagree. The vocals are clashing way too much with the guitar and bass. The vox bring the entire thing down to a point where it'd be better off being instrumental. Vocals should be taking advantage of the lack of mid-high range going on here.

In these almost 3 decades, there have been so many absolute masterpieces of Swedish Melodic Death Metal (or how you want to tag this), but back in the early 90´s this video is the music I had in my head when I think of this genre.
I love how in some metal music videos, the drummer shot shows the drummer is super chill, just grooving, like playing is the easiest thing in the world to them, but the camera is like violently having a seizure in an earthquake.
Well I'm glad I stumbled on this! As someone who fell in love with the Gothenburg scene bands in the early 2000s this is a welcome surprise! It's like coming home.

In Flames have always been one of my favorite artists ever. But sadly they ceased to truly be In Flames after Jesper left. Their discography was nearly flawless up to that point. With each subsequent album, they have drifted further away from being the melodic death metal pioneers that we loved so much. It is very apparent just how important Jesper was to their sound. I’ve sampled some of their recent stuff, it’s utterly unrecognizable as “In Flames”. So to see all these guys back together again, making fucking kickass metal, is a dream I never thought would come true. I cannot fucking WAIT to hear this album when it’s released!!!

One side of this watershed moment
Left the fair and true objective far behind
For fear of facing what rationale resigns to
The thought of you alone with demons on your mind
Ravaging the nerves
Overtaking consciousness
What was said and what was done
Now haunt the witching hour
Let the now begin today
To the past a swift farewell
Innocence is nothing
When shadowminds prevail
Let the fear be gone today
To oblivion we cast it down
When shadowminds prevail
Let go of this, the embers of the day
Bring not the fire to the combustible night
Rather have the anger extinguish the flames
Than numbing chemicals to keep it at bay
Ravaging the nerves
Overtaking consciousness
What was said and what was done
Now haunt the witching hour
Let the now begin today
To the past a swift farewell
Innocence is nothing
When shadowminds prevail
Let the fear be gone today

"In Tranquillity Flames"... this must be the absolute dream of my life... Stanne's voice is incredible as always, and the music... well... astonishing!!!
I feel like when I was 16 and I discovered death melodic metal music for the first time. This is so perfect, I want to cry. Thank you.
So, so nostalgic!!! My child Guilherme is so happy!!
Same here ;D
Same! The dark spot since A Sense Of Purpose is finally healed After 13 years! So happy with this!
exactly the same feeling!

I can’t stop listening to this. It’s so bloody brilliant
Love these guys!! Incredible emotional feeling 🎸 guitar solo!!!!🥰😈❤️🔥☝️☝️🤟🤟🤟🤟💪🦾
As a fan of Melodic death metal and knowing who this guys are and the history behind them, fucking hell i cannot hide my happines i fucking love what i see
This is one the best Death Metal tunes I've ever heard. My Score: Very Good 4*
Usually I need a few listens to a song to really get into it, but this one grabbed me immediately. Absolutely beautiful songwriting.
This gives me the same feelings that Colony did when I first heard In Flames, and the same feeling I got from hearing The Mind's I by Dark Tranquillity. Its like I've been blasted 20 odd years into the past. So glad I survived long enough to hear this.
This is fucking outstanding. Might pre-order the album based on this alone.
best metal chorus of 2022 prove me wrong
The chorus hits SO FUCKING HARD. This is how to do epic melodic death metal
Literally my whole body has goosebumps.. super awesome..
In Flames is back
It's absolutely insane how good this actually is.
it's not just '90s melodic death nostalgia, this song is really fucking great
Jespers the fucking man
I gotta disagree. The vocals are clashing way too much with the guitar and bass. The vox bring the entire thing down to a point where it'd be better off being instrumental. Vocals should be taking advantage of the lack of mid-high range going on here.
I know he’ll never see this but I’m really proud of Jesper especially for getting back into the studio making great riffs and music again. Kudos to the rest of the boys as well you guys kick ass. I hope one day I can see you guys live in North Carolina, USA 🤘🏻
I was shocked by how good this is, then I learned who the band is, then I was just happy.
Wait.. I came here to hear what Jesper is up to these days, and did not expect to see the whole IN FLAMES here haha! Wow I am so happy!
The chorus… hits !!
This is amazing how am I just learning about this. This what I've been waiting for.
That brilliant mixture of In Flames and Dark Tranquillity makes me so f****** happy. Absolute legends!
Time only makes this song better.
It is everything I had hoped....for the most part. Daniels driving groove cymbal work is back and god damn I love it.
This album is a diamond. I just wish that they will continue to make more in the future. Stanne never ceases to amaze.
Очень классно!Получится отличный коллектив!Уже звучит бодро!До конца за Мелодик Дет!
Vet ni. När jag hörde den här kände jag mig helt plötsligt hemma. Det var länge sedan. Tack snälla...
Saw these guys yesterday, fucking 10/10
This is fucking amazing. I love Mikael's voice/style so much. I was never into this genre until I discovered DT. Keep killing it. I can't wait to see more
Words can't express the joy this brings to my metal heart!! What a line up!!!!
love how they bring the old melodic death metal sound, strong harmony
In these almost 3 decades, there have been so many absolute masterpieces of Swedish Melodic Death Metal (or how you want to tag this), but back in the early 90´s this video is the music I had in my head when I think of this genre.
this is more In Flames then In Flames
I just met Mikael like a month ago and he was the chillest dude possible!
Bravo! Amazing song! Looking forward to a whole album. Jesper, Peter and Daniel, I really missed you guys.
I been waiting so much time to hear something pure like this.
Incredible awesome!
Tears are running down my face,i love it!
Since the release, ive been listening to this on spotify. And i must say, this might be one of the best metal songs ive ever heard!
Jesper Strömblad
This is meant to be......finally the good old parts of Inflames with the mighty vocals of Dark Tranquility....man I am so excited for this!
Stoked for the full LP
I love how in some metal music videos, the drummer shot shows the drummer is super chill, just grooving, like playing is the easiest thing in the world to them, but the camera is like violently having a seizure in an earthquake.
Well I'm glad I stumbled on this! As someone who fell in love with the Gothenburg scene bands in the early 2000s this is a welcome surprise! It's like coming home.
This song was a lot better then it had any right to be! I'm impressed.
Now Daniel just needs to get his ass back to record another Sacrilege album!!
For fuckin real
I second this. Listen to sacrilege gbg demo at youtube. The riffs, the drumming..Out of this world
His vocals were insane in Sacrilege, I couldn't believe the man behind the kit in IF was the same guy.
This is just AMAZING! Thank you guys for this band of masters!!!
Classic stuff..awesome line up..
Absolutely Brilliant!! Great Album!
Excited for this project!
As a melodeath fan for many years now, i find this absolutely exceptional!! Brings back a lot of beautiful memories somehow... This line up cannot disappoint! Thank you
Serious bang of Insomnium off this track! That's no bad thing. Nothing is going to change the world anymore, especially as we old In Flames fans get older! This was an enjoyable listen. I will try and catch you live as and when the plague permits. Looking forward to an album.
So mutch this! The Intro sounds In-Flamesish (post Clayman), the verse as well. But especially the chorus: So mutch Insomnium in there.
Literally the best thing. All my favorite artists coming together this is great.
in flames and dark tranquility combine i get goosebumps from hearing this xD
The orginal in flames
Thats so true
Love chris, but his not for If, he s a shredder
The line-up is beyond insane. Love it!
This is exactly what I need. Man it takes me back to the good ole days
I clearly remembered drummer from My Sweet Shadow
