It makes me angry neurologists never tell us about ketosis.
Same here
Why would they ? not unless they want to go bankrupt.
It upsets me too.. I’m reading Gary Taubes ‘s book… he explains back in 1920s when Insulin came into existence doctors were told to just push a high carb diet so people can take insulin…they assumed people would not want to stay on a meat diet… it’s all about profit with the medical profession and big pharma.. I stopped taking medication 25-30 years ago .. I prefer to heal with a healthy diet.
It is tragic but they probably aren’t aware of nutrition at all! They weren’t taught it and they are subject to brainwashing by the big pharma!
So true
6:24 I had epilepsy from age 19 to 42. Not a word about it anywhere. 33 years later, after I cured myself: it was a lack of potassium.
You're saying the only thing you did was add potassium and it cured your epilepsy?
@@SimplyHuman186 Yes thats what he said, i had a best friend of mine who was normal, did
not have epilepsy, and had a seizure, after going to the doctor and getting some blood
work done, they found out he had extremely low potassium levels, was close to deficient.
After he fixed that, he never had a seizure again.
@@Gunter_Severloh what did he do to fix his potassium levels? My sister said while I was in the hospital and had blood work done they said my potassium levels were very low too.
@@AmandaViolinGirl Just eat or drink something with high potassium in it, thats naturally what you would do to bring the levels back up. Overall you need electrolytes.
@@Gunter_Severloheating some thing with potassium puts me in a keto diet not a carnivore diet. The only food that I can think of that is high in potassium would be avocados. I know bananas have potassium in them but also contain too much fructose in them for my liking. Do you have any other suggestions what other foods are high in potassium?
It is almost impossible to get someone to follow a new idea when their salary depends on them following the old idea. Get pharmaceutical companies out of medicine.
Until the public fully rebels, through boycott of their crap foods, drugs and class action law suits.. They'll continue to pursue the "poison pill path".
On the 2 1/2 year old with autism, who is non-verbal: I suggest they try taking the eggs completely out of his diet for at least 30 days, and see if that helps. My autistic daughter reverts to what I call 'broken-record' speech when she has eggs (even duck egg yolks, with no egg white). 30 days should be enough to see a difference, if the eggs are, in fact, a problem.
My son has autism has never ever eaten eggs so how is that relevant
This is a dumb comment.
@@kymwalters683some people are allergic to the egg protein.
@@kymwalters683 Undoubtedly if your son has never eaten eggs, it won't be relevant to him. However, anyone who does eat eggs and who has either mental or physical issues, would be wise to test and see if the eggs might be causing some of their problems. Eggs are one of the two most likely foods for people to be sensitive to (the other is cow dairy). I actually knew this, but we've always had chickens and had lots of eggs, and I was in denial about it, I guess. (Same with dairy, since I've had dairy goats most of my daughter's life -- she's 44, and we got our first goats when she was three.) Then last year we took food sensitivity tests, and my daughter's response to chicken eggs, especially the egg white, was extremely high. So we stopped eating them, and -- much to my surprise -- several of her issues immediately cleared up. Sold the chickens and got some ducks, hoping she might be able to eat their eggs, and eventually (had to wait for the ducks to start laying) discovered that she can't eat duck eggs, either, not even just the yolks, without her symptoms coming back. The most obvious thing that happened was that her speech became much more repetitive -- I call it broken-record speech. But that indicated that the eggs were causing pain, and possibly what we would call brain fog. She does speak, but communicates very poorly and doesn't have normal responses to pain, so it can be really hard to figure out what is going on internally. I am sorry that we have had to give up eggs; we both like them, and they make an easy carnivore meal to fix, but it's worth it for the improvement in her health and behavior.
Thank you for taking the time to reply and I'm glad you were able to work out how to improve symptoms.
Whatever they tell you it's opposite😊

I can live on this for a thousand years.
I'm 76 and have been on Keppra (anti-seizure_ meds for 11 years. I despise how this particular medication affects my personality ( makes me irritable) . When I saw my neurologist last year I asked if I could get off of this and his response was no..your brain is too old and won't change. So I'm wondering if staying a carnivore would help me get off that med ...and how on earth would a person test that.
Thank you so much for your passion and expertise Dr. Chaffee 🙏🏼
Interesting - I'm in the process of weaning our little poodle off of anti-seizure medication, as he hasn't had a seizure for around 4 years. I've also been making his food during that time, eliminating grains, chemicals and salts. He's doing very well, and I hope to eliminate the pills altogether over the next 4-6 months.
You can do it! My 16 year old Pug had severe anxiety attack back in Dec. 2023, could not walk, vet only wants to sedate him, I immediately start him on a human food grade meat diet(organic chicken, grass fed beef and lamb), with some eggs, zero kibbles, zero commercial dog food canned or dried, he is all good now, just have to give it a try. Best wishes!❤
daily dose of my dream guy 🥰
I love his calming voice.
Excellent 👌 and thanks for sharing
Thank-you.
Thank you!
My nephew developed seizures after his first vaccine as an infant. My sister-in-law put him on a keto diet for about 3 years but he never was relieved of them. He is now 27 and meds aren’t helping either. He has anger issues and learning disabilities. Do you think seizures due to vaccinations are different than epilepsy?
I do, the jabs cross the blood brain barrier are full of heavy metals.
Yeah, I doubt that kind of damage could be reversed.
Seizure is a seizure. As for other consequences from various ingredients it's certainly possible. Heavy metal poisoning on top of seizure. But in general a seizure is a seizure
You mentioned keto. Try moving him up a step to Carnivore. I have read a lot of testimony where the tweaking of this one thing, going carnivore, and results off the charts. Huge differences.
Plants are pure toxic. The issue is inflammation in the body.
The critical point here is eat the fat. Increase amount (usually 70%fat 30%protein) The fat is what sister needs. A lot of animal fat, grass fed butter (has most nutrients but any will do), protein, salt, water. That's it. No seasonings since has plants in them. I am in the same situation as your sister.... autism, epilepsy. But. Her ped neurologist put her on this diet. She's speaking more and more each day. Still on keppra but last seizure was focal. Never even sat down!! A huge change. Ask your sister if she has had the test to find out if they can pinpoint the seizure like Dr Chaffee mentioned. There's technology that sends a quick zap to that one spot. Resets the neurons.
Best of luck to your family.❤🙏
What she should have done is chelation, then keto.
Thank you for sharing this video now. Tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor and the reason for my appointment is to get me to stop taking a statin against my will. I will be taking 3 books about cholesterol with me for him to see. The books are titled The Great Cholesterol Con and ignore The Awkward. and The Great Cholesterol myth. Unfortunately I tried ketosis and was wheening myself off my drugs and just recently have come out ICU with status epelepticus and according to people who visited me in the hospital said I am lucky to be alive. Do you have any advice what questions I should be asking my doctor?
" what gives you the right to insist on my medication?" Sounds like a good start. You should not have to deliver a quality legal case to simply stop putting a pill in your own mouth.
Juat tell him you aren't going to take them because you feel awful on them. You're okay signing a waiver, you understand the implications of not taking the statin.
No doctor is going to read the books you bring.
I would suggest "The Clot Thickens " by Dr Malcolm Kendrick, to explain the real mechanism behind heart attacks. He deserves a nobel prize
It's not a good tactic to argue with doctors, especially bringing other people's books. Why do you the doctor's permission to be healthy?
Dr, do you think carnivore can help to heal tinnitus and hyperacusis? Thank you.
My doc says my cholesterol is high and I should be worried about it because it travels through my veins and arteries to eventually clog, leading to strokes and heart attacks. It’s about 255 I think.
Dr Chaffee, I came across some information online that suggests that red meat is inflammatory, and therefore, should be avoided if someone has (idiopathic) small fiber neuropathic pain. However, I remember you mentioning that red meat is not inflammatory and can aid in healing nerve damage. Could you please help me understand this better? Thank you.
Nothing in meat to make it inflammatory, what causes inflammation
is using "vegetable oils" also known as seed oils which is what they really are.
Seed oils are mainly Omega- 6 fatty acids, they are highly inflammatory, most your red meats will have
omega 3's which is anti-inflammatory fatty acids, but not all, mostly meats like fish will have the omega3's.
Your nerve issues will heal eating red meat, as nerves require cholesterol, and fats to be rebuilt, the
mylon sheaths for the neurons in the brain are all made out of cholesterol, each cell in the body
requires cholesterol and fat to maintain the cell membrane, you also need fats for creating hormones.
Try it carnivore will change your life, it has mine!
I was put on anti seisure drugs at age 18 after two fits following being hit by a bus on a zebra crossing. I am now 72 and still on them. I was never told about diet and epilepsy, I am trying to wean myself of these things (clonazepam) any advice? Been on a carnivore diet strict for three months now 30/70 protein fat ratios and OMAD.
Hi Doc. Thank you so much for promoting the carnivore diet.
Do you have experience using the carnivore diet to treat Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) . It is a rare neurological condition that can cause problems with balance, movement, vision, speech and swallowing. It's caused by increasing numbers of brain cells becoming damaged over time. Thanks
Sounds like the carnival diet is a lot more fun than the carnivore diet.
Just sayin’
The condition of the cap suggests this is an old video.
Very curious to know How high should your ketones be ??
The pharmacy has pee strips that show by color how high or low ketones are. As long as on the darker end, bingo. This easiest for me. Very cheap. If they get lighter... I question what I ate.❤
Please keep urdu or hindi language audio track language option on your youtube channelI watch your videos with great interest, but I don't understand your English language, so if you put the option in Hindi or Urdu, it will be easy for me to understand please it's my request .We will get a lot of help and guidance to understand urdu audio track because here doctors are doing bad and putting every other patient on narcotic drugs and SSRI medicine. What level of ketosis is needed to heal mitochondria
Body adapts to cow nutrition the moment human babies drink cow milk. Most of my diet is 99% cow - cow butter salted added to cow mince beef and eaten together with cow cheddar cheese. Other is bits of chopped pork luncheon sprinkled in baked mince beef. Although there is no long-term experiments to re-introduce plant drink such as coffee with boiled water and white sugar-cane sugar or even cacao raw organic powder added with coffee, so far no health problems just 4 weeks into carnivore diet. Age 60 I am New Zealand-born Samoan survivor
So to build muscle on keto ot carnivore as long as im in a calorie excess ill grow when lifting weights.
Can anyone recommend iodine supplement needs. For 68 yr old woman
Keto cures a big percentage of epilepsy and other conditions patients after 2-5 years of treatment. Mentioned by Dr Chris Palmer in his interview with Medicating Normal movie team.
I also got the Johns Hopkins 7th edition of their book on ketogenic treatment for epilepsy. I'm just starting to read it but it mentions big numbers of more than good results as well.
From other comments, check for potassium deficiency.
Day 7 on animal heavy diet with 100 grams of carbs from fruit. Feel great, fruit is starting to taste cloyingly sweet right now, even berries! Am I recalibrating, lol?
The tongue will generally grow a new outer layer in about 14 days which can affect taste. Drop the fruit completely for a month and try a berry again. It will taste like candy it's insane.
I had Ulcerative Colitis and ended up having a ileostomy. Do you think I would have developed this disease had I been on a carnivore diet all my life?
Dr Chaffee said many people with colitis and chrons can go into remission on a carnivore diet. I have UC myself and got a colonoscopy at Xmas and was in a flare up of moderately active, I have been eating mainly meat the last few months got an endoscopy last week and the inflammation in my colon has come down massively, very mild at present so hoping to get completely to remission in the next 2/3 months. I am taking meds presently but I hope to get off them once into remission
@@adamcorroon1997
I’d be interested how your diet works out in the next few months. I ended up having an ileostomy and wonder if I could have avoided it had I changed my diet.

I was always told that the vegetable and fruit route was healthiest due to the alkalinity as opposed to acid which animal products supposedly create in your body could you please explain this further
probably just bunkum. I'm sure the body regulates it's own ph perfectly when healthy
Sounds like something someone made up because it sounded good! The ideal pH for the human body is a neutral 7.0, give or take .5 . . . urinary tract infections and bacterial overgrowths can occur if the balance is too alkaline. Stomach acid is normally very high, and will kill most bacteria if it hasn't been diluted by medication.
How could our natural human diet, meat, be unhealthy for us? We evolved as a species eating meat. That's like saying a lion would be better off on grass or bananas.
Various ph levels in various body parts. Your stomach should be VERY acidic. Your Blood should not. What we eat has little direct influence on blood pH. But for example if we eat tums it will temporarily raise the PH of our stomach but the body will just compensate to try to bring the stomach acid back. This is why apple cider vinegar is great to get a quick fix from acid reflux because we actually needed more acid to digest the food. If we don't have enough acid in the stomach it will cause suffering 😫. Anyways... the body self regulates various parts of the body. If we give the body what it needs such as animal fat and protein it will trigger the to produce or release bile bringing the acidic to its needed level To digest .
There is a closure muscle in our throat that appears to only close with enough acid. So when we add acid via vinegar or enough fat and protein it will close the sphincter giving relief.
Plants often screw with your ability to balance your pH (anti nutrients, ppi). Meat doesn't.
Le grass c'est la vie
Would it be possible to create a ground beef recipe that could have EVERYTHING you body needs? To the point where you could eat ONLY that.
Ground beef has a lot of nutrients, but where does it lack and how could you make up for it?
Example... Let's say you are given a 20/80 mix per kg mix. Beef liver contains a ton of nutrients. How much would you have to add into the 1 kg ground beef mix? Under that same premise, what else would be needed?
Yeah. Try frying in butter, lard. Consider eggs for nutrients as well. And some missing nutrients, regardless of what you do, are taurine and glycine.
1-2 0z heart together w liver add to ground beef. I grind chuck roast w those in a Vevor grinder. Store gound beef is maybe or likely oxidized and that causes histamine allergy reaction so I grind fresh right before cooking. Chuck roast has fat.
where can i ask him a question to answer on video?
On his live q&a videos. Check out the "Live" Section on his channel see if there's one scheduled, but usually there's 2 live videos a week
I can live without scars, spots or blemishes for a thousand years on the Holy Ghost Porterhouse Diet
How long to get fat adapted?
Depends on your body, took me 2 months.
i see that carnivore is meat, salt, and water. could someone live only off eggs, salt, and water? (or would there be deficiencies)
Good question
Add fish and seafood and you should be good, and maybe a bit of dairy!
Does someone have that egg only diet case study?
One thing that eggs (and dairy) lacks is Heme iron. A critical micro nutrient that you can only get from meat. And there's likely other things eggs lack as well, like Vitamin A. Eggs only is not okay.
@@warrenhammer7262 my chickens strongly disagree.

? Isn’t butter dangerous for heart clotting?
No
? Blood clots . . . the heart does not. Sugar and highly processed vegetable/seed oils are likely far more dangerous for heart health than a normal animal fat.
That's a common myth with no evidence to support it.
Your new here aren’t you
@@wesleyroseivto be fair I am on carnivore around 2.5 month , and I have lost around 35 pounds, but still when eating butter I am having this weird sensation of uncertainty about heart issues
