I have a twin sister who has a Masters Degree in nursing and absolutely refuses to hear ANYTHING about carnivore/keto diet! We went to breakfast last week and all I ordered was an omelette. Refused the potatoes & toast so she asked if she could have my potatoes along with hers! Absolutely broke my heart!! She has had cancer twice and beat it but now has 2 spots on her lungs. I'm so glad you're doing so well! Very so sorry to hear about your sister, that's awes upsetting when our loved ones are doing things we know can hurt them. Maybe see if you can get her to watch the interview I did with one of the top cancer researchers in the world Professor Thomas Seyfried. It's not about a carnivore diet, it's about cancer biology and how it feeds on carbohydrates. This is Nobel prize winning work from Dr Otto Warburg last century, and well recognized in the medical field. It could be the exact thing that helps open our minds to this, and to understand that there are thousands of studies showing that a high fat, meat-based ketogenic diet is more of a medical intervention than a weight loss diet plan. I'll put a link below. Good luck!

    I worry if we dont have enough meat for everyone as i see the carnivore diet is getting more popular. I don't think the system likes that. I dont know what their plan are with recent acquisitions of farmlands and lands in general. Is it so there is less land to raise cattle? I think this is something the carnivore community should plan for and talk more about it, and prepare for solutions.

    • @anthonychaffeemd

    Back in the 90's i attended a ritzy hotel holding a medical conference. I was the A/V nerd videotaping the event for the sponsors/hosts; a large, global, well diversified manufacturer based out of Minnesota.
    30 years later i only remember one thing about the 3 day event and the numerous speakers i taped.
    On day one during the opening address the keynote speaker said something that made the room full of several hundred doctors laugh unapologetically. What the speaker mumbled,as an aside, was that the first diagnosis and prescription soon results in a series of additional conditions and prescriptions as the side effects pile up.
    He of course said it in fewer words but to punctuate the events purpose and his opening. To promote the drug of the day they were slinging, NSAID's.
    30 years later i currently resisting my doctors insistence i take Statins.
    Drug free and 95% carnivore.

      Traditionally people in poor backgrounds, were forced to eat more plant-based, perform less healthy than Richard populations. However in the last century in America those health disparities have largely evened out because food has been much more accessible. However obesity is higher in lower socioeconomic households then the others. But yes, that sort of highly processed food is exactly what you want to avoid, but you can undo a lot of that damage by eating better now. Don't worry about the haters, they will come around eventually when they see how well you are doing.

    Awesome to find your RUclips channel, I am 54 male had a heart attack 2 weeks ago, shock to me and my wife because we both work out and thought our diets were good. I actually worked out 5 days a week, weights in the morning, and 4 nights on treadmill. Had no symptoms, never got out of breath, and did jump rope. then 2 weeks ago, actually the first time I got an uncomfortable pain in my back between my shoulders, thought it was muscle, then went away after about 5 minutes. The 2 days later same pain came back, but really intense, and then felt like a spear had been thrusted in my back out of my chest, wife took me to the hospital, and sure enough on the EKG I was having a heart attack. They rushed me into the operating room and put a stent it. Turns out one of my arteries was 99% blocked, they also think a piece of plaque got loose and stuck also. Now the ER staff and the surgeon were awesome, but now the work starts, the cardiologist I have has me on blood thinners and couple other meds along with blood pressure meds. I understand these I will need for a while, but now he wants me on not one, but two statins, which at this time, I am not taking, he refuses to get down to the cause of why I ended up here, would not talk about diet (in fact he had a dietitian email me, with a list of foods they want me to eat, that include breads, high carb foods and raw vegetables), they highlighted stay away from red meat.
    I'm glad I found your channel, as I have been frantically researching other channels and there are too many differences in opinions, some say eat lots of fiber and this will get you cholesterol down, now I am looking at K2's and fermented food, as they are supposed to help clean arteries (have to research more), but like I said I want to find out how I got to this point, looking back at me eating, my stress levels, etc), and how to move forward in the hope of preventing anything like this happening again. Oh and one thing that also stands out no doctor will talk about my elevated blood sugars and A1C, from what I am learning, it years of high sugar and carbs that most likely damaged my arteries., thanks guys

    I am 69, 5 months ago I started exercising with weights, lost 14kg, gained back a lot of strength. I eat meat, got to keep protein up. No colon, Parke's pouch in it's place, thyroid dead so I supplement a lot due to absorption problems. Have a veggie patch that I use for 85% of my veggies. I use dispersed wide sowing and harvesting. According to what I see in nature, giraffe as an example, it eats on a tree for a bit, then the tree makes tannin and oxilates, changing the leaf flavor so the giraffe leaves and moves up wind to the next tree. From this I know that trees and plants "talk" to one another chemically with the wind. So I take care of how I harvest, watching the wind and giving my veggies time to lose their tannin and oxilates before I do wide harvest again.

    Plant Chompers just did a video where he speaks disparagingly about you.
    I have had multiple chats with him, where I have tried to pin him down on what I have seen to be inaccurate interpretations of epidemiological studies, where he says they ‘prove’ that ‘less meat is good’.
    It was like trying nail a jellyfish to a wall.

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  Месяц назад +1

      Your appetite won't change dramatically on the corner for diet, so you have to relearn your hunger signals. You have to go buy taste at first, and keep eating fatty meat until it stops tasting good, not just until you feel that you could stop. So you keep eating fatty meat until you get a bite that sort of tastes like cardboard, then you can stop. You do this at least once a day, even twice or three times if you feel like it. Good luck

      I had the same problem. Was carnivore for two years, high fat, and I lost too much weight. My skin was hanging. I’m 5’1” and couldn’t get up to 100 lbs. The only thing that worked was carbs (milk) 😞. There must be a subpopulation that has specific requirements? The problem is that carbs are addictive and I eat too many now, including sugar. I’m disappointed that I can’t do carnivore. I was extremely malnourished as a child, starting before birth I suspect. There are so many factors involved in health. I am baffled.

Eventually as you get more and more healthy, and better and better shape, and don't get diabetes and die of a heart attack, people start to question their own beliefs and start to ask questions. So just be there and be ready for when that happens and eventually people will come around.

    The unfortunate reality is that diet and medicine to most folks is not about research and information, it's a religion, a belief system that they are unwilling to inspect. They are ok with being followers, being told what to think and believe - and they aren't ok with having someone mess with their belief systems. I have tried to very gently broach this subject with family and friends, and have been shocked at not only their resistance to even considering a different approach, but their attitude toward me since going carnivore a few years ago. Unfortunately most folks would rather stay safe inside the societal norm box, than open their minds and consider a new way.

    A Naturopath shared with me, that a huge % of young men ranging from 35 to 45 -ish are testing super super low in testostorone! And of course low libido is a super negative side effect of that. Many of them are opting for THT Testostorone Hormone Therapy, rather than do the correct thing and that's changing their crap diets, and exerciing. Men will (vastly) produce the testostorone naturally through correct dieatary intake.. and a good exercise regimine. Yes, there will be some exceptions..but those are few.. and there's often "other" health issues that will come in to play.
    Heads up guys.. In the instance of choosing THT over doing this naturally through diet and exercise is NOT SO MUCH A GOOD CHOICE.. THT SUPRESSES YOUR BODIES NATURAL ABILITY TO PRODUCE TESTOSTORONE PRODUCTION. I would suggest that you choose wisely and give very carefully consideration when making tht decision. Ladies.. your hormone balance when your
    entering into and in menopause... HRT is a almost a no brainer.. YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO GO THAT ROUTE... Yes.. you too, should be eating a proper human diet and getting plenty of exercise.. this may reduce the level of the HRT you need.. but you are gonna most like need to go there.. Your will feel 10,000%.. LIVE WELL/EAT SMART/EXERCISE SMART!

      Yes I've seen very low testosterone levels in new patients coming in to see me who are not on a carnivore diet. Changing them to a proper diet I see their testosterone levels double or even tripling. Doctors don't even know that changing the diet and exercising will improve testosterone like that though, so they just see numbers like that and put people on TRT straight away. Even teenagers and men in their twenties will get put on that stuff, no one asks why this is getting worse.

    Dr. Chaffee can you talk more on gluconeogenesis, especially about the fact that acetone (a ketone) can in fact be converted into glucose. There is a general misconception that fats can't be converted into glucose on the carnivore diet, which might lead people to overeat protein, especially those who train. This actually happened to me and is probably the reason I quit carnivore in the past.

    • @anthonychaffeemd

      It depends on what you mean by constipation. If you're talking about going infrequently, that's perfectly normal because you will be absorbing 98% of the meat that you are eating. But if it is hard and difficult to pass, then you are not eating enough fat by definition. Watch this video I did on the subject.

      Iodine in eggs, seafood, and dairy. Micronutrient intake requirements are reduced when not eating foods that are blocking absorption with fiber, counter acting what is absorbed with anti-nutrients and toxins, and causing mal-absorption with less bio-available versions of nutrients.

I have just taken a blood test (on the 4th day of my period). Last year my tsh was 2, but now it is about 3.4; Also, my fasting insulin was 4 and now it is 13, and my 8am cortisol is 12. Also, my Fbs and blood urea have increased. Can you please give your opinion about it. Thank you very much in advance

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  Месяц назад +1

      I wouldn't worry about urea, but if you're creatinine level goes up then you should drink more water. Stress can definitely cause the issues you're describing, and so can poor sleep. You should also get down to 100% fatty meat and water, just to eliminate any variables. But, insulin should not come up like that on a ketogenic carnivore diet without plant oils, so it's most likely stress and or sleep

    • @anthonychaffeemd
