I was vegan for over 10 years and recently started seeing these lectures on plants. I dropped the vegan stuff a year ago and went carnivore. To my surprise my health has done a 180 turn around. No one believes me when I tell them what I am doing. No vegetables now and I am IBS free, lost almost 40 lbs and now type II free. I have thrown away my juicer and no longer tell anyone to eat a salad. Thanks Dr Chaffee.

My mother told me that I ate everything in baby food form but when I switched to solid food I would not eat vegetables or fruits; it must’ve been all the salt in the baby food that made it palatable. When eating at other people’s houses I would sometimes be forced to eat vegetables. Beaver Cleaver as a kid balked at brussels sprouts but as an adult foisted them on his kids. I never wanted to go to camp for fear they’d push veggies and fruits on me. My wife ate fruits and veggies and died of cancer at 38; I’m 76. When people tell me I’m damaging myself by omitting plants I point out that there is no agriculture in the far north but people have lived there for millennia. Coming across this video has been SUCH a comfort.

Thanks Dr. Chaffee! I've been strict carnivore for eight months. No cheating. I used to eat a lot of dark chocolate every day. A couple weeks ago I saw and bought a bar of 100-percent chocolate. No sugar, no dairy, no soy, nothing but chocolate. I ate two squares. Within an hour every joint in my body hurt and muscles felt sprained. This lasted for three days. That's enough proof for me to never try this again! I'm 74 and have no time for aches and pains.

Some just have built up a higher tolerance to the toxins in different foods. Some would argue this is good so that you can have more variety in the diet which is what I have a hard time believing. It has toxins but as long as I continue to include it in my diet then I do fine with it. Street drugs work the same way.

  • @margoqu

I was very skeptical about this diet. But then saw Dr. Chaffee and Dr Baker on RUclips and it changed it for me. If these huge handsome men can be healthy on diet why I can’t? It’s my 3rd week on pure carnivore. I never hungry, always happy, my asthma is gone (I went from 4 times per day inhaler usage to zero), my constipation is gone, I dropped few extra pounds I gained and couldn’t lose, I have more energy in the gym and at work. And I am happy. And I actually like to eat meet and don’t think about food anymore. I eat when I am hungry, but most of the time I actually not hungry at all
I love this way of eating. I hope I will remain on it till the end of my life. Thank you all people on the internet who continue to share this knowledge and your stories. ❤️ it helps others make the right decision for their health.

Thank you for featuring Dr. Anthony Chaffee on the channel! Among the pantheon of great doctors in the low carb arena, he has quickly emerged to be one of my favorites because of two reasons. First, he really embodies the efficacy of this way of eating. The guy looks like something out of a comic book. If the arguments for carnivore don't convince you, this man's impressive physique certainly will. Secondly, Dr. Chaffee has a talent for getting to - if you will excuse the play on words - the meat of the argument. He doesn't overcomplicate things. For someone unfamiliar with these concepts, Dr. Chaffee provides a very accessible primer on all things carnivore and low carb. I highly recommend his podcast - The Plant Free MD.

Dr. Chaffee- When my daughter was young she was diagnosed with oral allergy syndrome. I learned that during some growing environments, plants were more defensive than under different conditions (temps, sunlight, dirt & water toxicity, pH, undesirable weather conditions.. ) These plant growing conditions affected plant "protein" behavioral defenses & had their effect on my daughter's lips, skin, sometimes lasting up to 10 days. One of her worst offenders were combinations of exposure to high birch pollen in the air mixed with eating apples, pears, apple pie, applesauce, ice pops, made with those fruits. We were told that birch pollen "protein" was similar to that of apple & pear so they were in the same "family". We were not eating organically back then but I can say she is a healthy young adult that "grew out of" that diagnosis. I appreciate this teaching.

Cancer is mostly from parasites. Nothing to do with plants! Get parasite detox protocols. Its similar to what Dr Ardis explains about Limes disease where supposedly there is no cure but he rid the person of parasites. Your more likely to get parasites from "meat" than plants unless your growing outside where prone to chemtrails

This is so interesting to me because I used to be a strict vegetarian back in the 90s and early 2000s, and after about three to five years of that I became extremely sick, and I think there are different reasons for it but when he said that some plants destroy your mitochondria that struck a nerve with me because I had severe chronic fatigue syndrome. And chronic fatigue syndrome is a mitochondrial problem! I literally wanted to die when I was sick with that illness because every system in my body was messed up. I was getting chronic infections, I could barely get out of bed every day and I was trying to work full time. I had hormone problems intestinal problems. You name it, and even neurologic symptoms that was suspect to be MS . Thank God I didn't have that Illness but when I began to eat meat again I did a complete turn around within 2 weeks after a 10-year disastrous illness! However I've gone back to eating less meat and more plants and I am having more health issues. Thank you for posting this video because I'm seriously considering going full carnivore.

One thing I notice about vegetarians/vegans is that the initial impact of the diet is very good for them usually because they lose a lot of weight and they lose it quickly and feel great because of it, but then you look at a vegetarian/vegan who has been at it for 2 years or longer and a lot of them start looking more and more emaciated, grayish/odd colored skin, weak and just overall sickly looking. I think I've read somewhere that vegetarian/vegan should really only be used as a weight loss diet for six months or so and not carried on as a long term diet. The longer you are on it the more sick you get. Now, I'm not a 100% carnivore myself, I'm not religious about it but most of my diet is meat, whole foods, or dairy and a big part of that is that I'm a weightlifter/bodybuilder so that's literally part of my fitness goals (eating big and lots of meat is as important as lifting the weight in the gym). I occasionally have junk on a weekend and I do like beer/alcohol so I'm definitely not trying to proselytize like this guy in the video but the whole veggie/vegan thing has always raised red flags for me. Just talking to someone or seeing someone who is veggie/vegan, they always seem unhealthy. it's like you can just see it or smell it in the air.

Actually, benefits are from sugar and carbs removal, not meat itself. If you ate meat + certain vegetables like green salads, onions, peppers etc it would be much more healthy diet, rather than some people who tell that they are forced to take pills and supplements because meat itself does not contain all nutrients body need, its mostly protein, iron, and some lesser minerals.

They had the knowledge of proper preparation that removed these factors. It’s the mainstream food system that leaves all these toxins in the food. This guys has drawn the conclusions that you shouldn’t eat plants, but the real conclusion is that plants need proper preparation. Meat also needs proper preparation or it will kill you.

It’s insane that everything has to be from extreme to extreme. Either vegan or carnivore, nothing in between. I grew up on a farm eating natural foods and had zero issues. Moved to the US and no matter how “organic” I go, I have autoimmune response. 15 years of testing almost every diet out there (keto, carnivore, elimination, low cal with fasting being a big part of life), went back to my home country for 3 months and all issues went away. Even with the insane struggles in US, the balance between meat and veggies has been the only way I can sustain some sort of a “normal” life. In my experiments I found that our food is poisoned and the orders come down from FDA, USDA and other such organizations. Has nothing to do with the actual organic plant. We just simply don’t have anything organic in the west. Our meat is required to be washed and soaked in commercial citric and lactic acids which has been a big source of my autoimmune response. The only way to bypass that is to get the meat straight from a local farm that doesn’t sell to public. The second they process the meat they MUST use those chemicals and FSIS doesn’t require them to be labeled either. Everything we buy from even farmers markets are processed with chemicals. That’s the issue. I’d be curious as to where these test veggies and fruits were sourced from and whether if this was conducted in a 3rd world country using organic foods, the result would be the same.

I believe the extremes are a flawed idea as well. Except when addressing particular health issues e.g. cancer, diabetes, etc. Both trict vegan and strict carnivore have helped some people overcome cancer. And many plant based and so.e animal based supplements have helped to regress cancer. So the devil is in the detail not in the broad brush strokes of presentation.
People in the blue zones have more people living to a healthy old age and they eat a lot of plant based diets with some animal products especially seafood in some areas. I thought that on a rich animal based diet you will be thinner, stronger and can have better health but you usually die sooner.
Some have said that whether a substance is a poison or not usually depends on the dose. Even consuming too much water can cause harm. Details... Yin yang balance.

I like your observations! Where is the farm you grew up on? I read that 'organic' rules in USA are not as stringent as Canada....I also read that gmo farms nearby contaminate even organic farms & that the 'natural' pesticides etc used for organic can also be dangerous. I also am tired of all the extremes...becomes an ideology/trend....perhaps there is NOT one diet fits all, one is good, the others bad.....I do hope we can all agree though that chemicalized, denatured, processed food is bad. We have been fed lies for far too many decades & trusted the institutions to have our best interest at heart...which they clearly do not!

Really glad I ran into this, helps explain some of the Science behind carnivore that other content creators don’t dabble in. I’m a 23 year old male with a severe thyroid issue. Was gaining wait no matter what diet I tried and never had energy to workout. I’ve been eating carnivore for just three days now and in that short time ALL of my back pain is gone, I have no cravings I feel full and I’ve had energy to go to the gym! I’m excited about how quickly I’m seeing results and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I’m logging everything I eat, my workouts and Other factors and in a couple months I’ll be making a video with some before and after photos and a breakdown of all the numbers. Just three days ago I was 280+ pounds, last night I was 276, already loosing weight in just three days!

Plants have evolved to use poison as defense against animals. They contain various toxins like lectins, phytates, tannins, etc.
[00:01] Plants have defense chemicals that make them poisonous to animals.
[04:10] Plants contain toxins that can be harmful to animals, including humans.
[08:07] Plants contain natural toxins that can cause adverse health effects, including cancer.
[12:00] Lectins can cause damage to cells and are implicated in autoimmune diseases
[15:52] Cassava root is a major source of calories in the tropics and contains cyanide, as do almonds and bitter almonds
[19:28] Plant-based diets can have even more phytoestrogens than meat and can contain nutrient blockers that hinder absorption of important minerals.
[22:56] Certain foods can cause photosensitivity and permanent damage to skin.
[26:21] Chronic diseases are toxicities and malnutrition caused by species inappropriate diets.
    ---------------------------------
    Detailed Summary :
[00:01]Plants have defense chemicals that make them poisonous to animals.
    - Plants use poison as a deterrent to being eaten.
    - Plants have various types of defense chemicals like lectins, cyanide, toxins, phytates, tannins, oxalates, hormone disruptors, nutrient blockers, and light sensitivity.
    - Plants and animals are in an evolutionary arms race where plants are becoming more poisonous and animals are becoming more adapted to specific poisons.
    - Many common plants have over 60 known human carcinogens.
[04:10] Plants contain toxins that can be harmful to animals, including humans.
    - Many animals have evolved to defend themselves against specific plants, but can get sick or die from eating others.
    - Fruits and berries are designed to be eaten by specific animals in order to spread their seeds.
    - Natural plants and vegetables contain more pesticides and are more likely to cause cancer than industrial pesticides.
[08:07] Plants contain natural toxins that can cause adverse health effects, including cancer.
    - Examples of natural toxins in plants include lectins, cyanide, purana, humorins, solanine, and mycotoxins.
    - Adverse health effects can range from acute poisoning to long-term consequences affecting the immune, reproductive, and nervous systems.
    - Lectins can bind to carbohydrates on the surface of cells, including insulin and leptin receptors, leading to overeating and insulin resistance.
[12:00] Lectins can cause damage to cells and are implicated in autoimmune diseases
    - Studies have shown that removing lectins from diets can lead to weight loss
    - Wheat germ lectin can damage intestinal lining and cause inflammation
    - Antibodies produced in response to lectins can attack normal cells, leading to autoimmune diseases
    - A meat and water diet has been shown to reverse diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease
[15:52] Cassava root is a major source of calories in the tropics and contains cyanide, as do almonds and bitter almonds
    - Bitter cassava is specially processed due to the high amount of cyanide it contains and even low-grade cyanide exposure can cause serious damage
    - 400 to 800 grams of almonds can be a lethal dose of cyanide in an adult
    - Other plants such as Hemlock, oxalates, tannins, and seed oils can also be toxic
    - Hormone disruptors such as phytoestrogens can have an estrogenic effect in the body
[19:28] Plant-based diets can have even more phytoestrogens than meat and can contain nutrient blockers that hinder absorption of important minerals.
    - Phytoestrogens in soy can be over one million nanograms per three ounces, while meat treated with hormones only contains 3.9 nanograms per three ounces.
    - Plants like soy and wheat contain protease inhibitors that block the absorption of protein and can increase inflammation.
    - Fiber can act as a barrier between enzymes and food, hindering the breakdown and absorption of nutrients.
    - Photosensitivity can be affected by furanocoumarins found in citrus and carrot family plants, such as limes.
[22:56]Certain foods can cause photosensitivity and permanent damage to skin.
    - Celery and parsnips contain foreign substances that can make you photosensitive.
    - Nightshades like potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplants contain solanine, a toxic chemical.
    - Eating potatoes with solanine or green spots can be deadly.
    - Some plants can be extremely toxic and even deadly, like Bryson and Castor beans.
[26:21]Chronic diseases are toxicities and malnutrition caused by species inappropriate diets.
    - Nutrients in plants are not as bioavailable as we think.
    - Animal-based diets have been successful in human history.

@@1headtheballpeople don't do proper research on some things. You can look the first thing for example about the compound that plants release when consumed methyl jasmonate and see that it is non-toxic and poses no dietary risks to humans.
Lots of people when they say they try to go vegan and they feel bad, is mostly because they don't really do proper research and just eat whatever fruit or vegetable in random amounts. For example carrots are healthy but in larger amounts they become unhealthy.
Eating a lot of fruit sounds healthy, but if your metabolism isn't great at breaking down sugars then that too is unhealthy.
Do proper research and understand what works for you and what doesn't.

I lost 30 pounds eating carnivore in just over two weeks and without exercise. Over time my sleep improved and my muscles responded and maintained their strength like never before. I felt and looked better than ever. Sugar and carb cravings were the most difficult part. I also experienced low energy levels and lethargy early on. Going off of carnivore was really revealing. My health tanked and I never felt as good as well as the toll sugar takes on all tissue including teeth of course. And remember it's not just physical benefits but mental and psychological as well. Its all connected. People have cured treated and put into remission things like diabetes and auto immune diseases and gum disease and even mental illness as well as the obvious weight loss that is guaranteed.
Btw anyone who is new to carnivore...there is so much information available right here on RUclips from doctors to scientists to experts and a lot of anecdotal evidence from both men and women young and old.
The powers that be know meat is the best for human beings. The soy/vegan/processed foods/refined carbs and sugars etc. diets and markets are being pushed and sold for a reason. Meat grown in petri dishes...Bill Gates owning all the farm land... impossible meats...extreme inflation...this is all by design.
A lot of people mention the film 1984 when it comes to what we are experiencing today and especially in the last few years but even going back to 9/11. Well...the most disturbing scene from that film in my opinion and I quote..."It looks like meat.. it tastes like meat...but it's not meat!!!"

Why are people scared of the likes of phytic acid, which has numerous health benefits in the diet?
"The published peer reviewed literatures searched showed that phytic acid, though an anti-nutrient, plays an indispensable role directly or indirectly in several disease conditions.
It exhibits antioxidant function, a property that qualifies it to possess multiple medicinal values like: anti-diabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory properties to mention a few.
Its chelating property affects the absorption and toxicities associated with essential and nonessential heavy metals, a scenario that could prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson diseases and other related diseases.
The medicinal values of phytic acid outweighed its negative impact."
This is definitely an eating disorder this carnivore nonsense. Don't get me wrong many of these individuals have genuine intolerances and issues, but many don't and the fear that drives this nonsense is based on pseudo-science.
It's one thing being scared of nutritional compounds which can actually result in poor health, but being terrified of nutritional compounds which largely confer benefits, as I say carnivore is an eating disorder at this point for most of these people.

@@TheNaturalHealthBlogger phytic acid is only one of thousands of chemicals in plants, so you're cherry picking. Even if phytic acid was good for, that didn't mean all the others are. There's phytic acid in hemlock too, does that make it for for you overall? Of course not. Take phytic acid in a supplement if you think it's so good. But in reality, all of the benefits there come from chelating heavy metals and toxins IN PLANTS, but if you don't eat the plant, you don't need the chelating agent. And just saying it's an antioxidant doesn't actually mean it's helpful in those disease process (all of which are caused by plants) so you really haven't made a very good case here, and neither did whoever you copy and pasted that from.

Thanks to you Dr Chaffee I've been eating carnivore for 8 months and I feel better than I've felt in the last 20 years. So many symptoms of 'aging' have vanished! I'm 69.
I wish I knew this when I was a kid! I HATED eating peas, broccoli, brussels sprouts, spinach....I would gag on them, honestly. I started filling my mouth and leaving the table on the premise that I was going to the bathroom and I'd spit it all out! I believe now that my body was rejecting them. My mom was patient and tolerant to a point, but like all moms she wanted me to be 'healthy' and based our meals on the new Food Guide that was in full swing by the late 1960's. She was an advocate for REAL food though and only allowed us to have candy on Saturday which included all the sugary cereals that she called JUNK CEREAL as early as the 1960's! Shopping with her in the 60's and early 70's was always an education too. She would pick up packages, examine the ingredients and proclaim "This is NOT real food. If you can't pronounce what's in it, don't eat it." Love ya Mom! Happy Mother's Day 2024.

I will be 66 in early March. I am a modest smoker who has started eating just one good meal per day, keto style about a year and a half ago. I used to be overweight, and suffered from several different chronic health conditions for decades, including COPD.
After two months of my newer eating habits, i dropped about 60 pounds of excess fluids and body fat, and reversed pretty much every health problem that plagued me for decades, including the COPD symptoms. I feel healthier and stronger than i did 10 years ago. I have been doing pretty well with how i have been eating, and if i change anything from now on, it will be adding more animal fats and proteins, and less veggies / nuts and see how that goes.

There's a lot of misinformation out there for sure. What did it for me is that the human stomach has a PH of 1.5-2. Herbivores (plant eaters) have a PH of more than 4 so they can ferment plants. Carnivores (lions etc) have a PH of 1-2. So it's obvious we are carnivores as we are in the same range as lions etc, we need that low PH for the high acidity so we can break down meat. So our species appropriete diet is meat, our stomach is designed for that.

If you want the truth what diet is healthy and will make you live a healthy long life going by the data of the last 200 years don't listen to the presentation because it's is full of cherrypicking and misleading by not mentioning facts about veggies and fruits.
      1. Why Is the Carnivore diet so beneficial for some or even many people?
..because you avoid sugar in high dosis. That is the main reason. Many health problems are related to sugar. When you stop eating sugar on carnivore diet and only consum sugar in natural form like in meat you will automatically notice improvements. Same would happen if you would only eat veggies and avoid sugar.
      2. People who have a deficit in e.g. collageen, B12 vitamin etc., because of avoiding or not eating enough meat will see huge benefits with carnivore diet but that is not the majority of people.
      3. Take a look on the asian countries like Japan. They all eat fresh plants/veggies , sea fruit and some meat. Japan have one of the longest life expectancy! Look up for "Ogimi" town: ruclips.net/video/8QXS5e8j-XE/видео.html

@@HealingLifeKwikly Human nutrition is a soft science in any case, and you well know it. Institutional nutrition education is pure indoctrination based on fraudulent and flawed epidemiological data, which is garbage. It may be mechanistic evidence in your mind, but I doubt you'll be eating hemlock any time soon. Why is that? It is a hard fact that plants contain these toxins, and we have tons of studies showing their harm in humans and animals. And in practice with real patients, which is the only thing that matters, we are seeing drastic changes in hundreds of thousands of people's health by coming off plants and eating more fatty meat. And there is a ton of evidence showing the benefits of a meat-based diet, while all of the studies vilifying meat have been shown to be flawed and even fraudulent in the recent paper published by the University of Washington, Seattle and others. All of the epidemiological studies in nutrition that promote a plant-based diet compare only to a standard American diet that may include meat with massive confounders, and never to a whole food meat-based diet. That's not what we're talking about here. The Masai in Africa eat blood, meat, and milk and are far healthier that their neighbors who they interbreed with (so similar genetics) and eat a most whole food plant-based diet. The plant eaters, while still similar genetic stock, are on average 6 inches shorter than the Masai. And as you should hopefully know as you teach the subject, plants and fungi do not contain all of the essential nutrients that humans need for life, so you have to use supplements. This is fascinating. I was trying to follow a plant based diet but after a really bad fatigue and stomach episode I consulted a nutritionist and it turned out I had sensitivities to many vegetables and legumes - especially nightshades (due to high lectins) , lentils and beans. This started me on a reluctant path of thinking maybe plants are not the benign things that we think they are. I must say the people on RUclips who advocate the carnivore diet all seem to look healthier than the plant-based people. And it is interesting how children don't tend to like vegetables - and children are more intuitive and more in touch with their instincts. I didnt like vegetables as a child either. So, if humans are not meant to eat these plants - just who, or what, is? Because something will be, as everything is here on this planet for a reason. Hmm, maybe salad really is just 'rabbit food?'

A lot (many? Most?) Vegetables at the grocery store didn't exist 75 years ago, or at least not in presence form. Everything has been selectively bred. The wheat eaten today is not what Jesus ate.

Plants are trying to kill us, really? You really think vegetables are bad for you instead of healthy for you? They are the most important food source for most living things on the planet... How could it be that they are toxic then? Ofc it depends on the exact type of plant and the amount you consume but thats about it.
If plants are really so bad for you and you as a carnivore dont eat any plants and only meat then do you realize that you are eating animals that eat plants, herbivores...? So these herbivores consume the toxins from the plants and then you eat their meat, so if the plants were so bad then youd still consume them through the animals.
I fully agree with cutting out processed foods and the keto way of avoiding stuff like bread and pizza and noodles and whatnot, but why the flaming of the vegetables I do not understand.
Also honestly it would disgust me if we were to be living in a world thats designed in a way that the only healthy way to live and survive is to kill animals and eat them.
Lastly I want to mention that if you search in youtube for "vegan diet changed my life" you will find countless of videos too and the comment sections are all also flooded with positive comment about how the diet changed their life. So how on earth can this be possible might the rational person be thinking. Is one side lying about their diet being good? But then why is there so many positive comments about the diet? Heres my thought: Maybe, just maybe, there isnt ONE solution and ONE diet, and different things work for different people. And maybe (certainly) there is harmful foods but those arent plants or meat in general, but processed foods etc.

As I stated in my comment, we as humans are the only species on this planet that cooks its food, killing the enzymes in the process. If we ate our food raw, what food would you eat ? Grains are not a natural human food. All seeds and nuts have enzyme inhibitors that prevent the seeds from sprouting before it’s time. Soaking is the only way to remove these enzyme inhibitors.
Humans are not designed to be carnivores. You mentioned children using instinct. What would a small toddler do with an apple and a mouse? What would the baby do, try to bite the apple or bite the mouse?

    • @Tony-un3vf
      @Tony-un3vf Год назад +1

The real human food is fruit. Humans are not carnivores nor are we herbivores. We are fruit eaters. Fruit is the easiest food to process as it usually only stays in the stomach for about 15 minutes. Bananas can take up to 45 minutes because they contain less water. Fruit is actually digested in the small intestine. Our salivary gland’s produce enzymes that break down sugar. Carnivores don’t have these enzymes.
Now, it is true that Eskimos lived on primarily meat and the only plant derived food they consumed was from what was in the gut of the animal they killed such as caribou.
However, Eskimos ate their meat raw. In fact, they would actually let it putrefy on purpose until it would turn into a soup. This conserved their enzyme bank account.
Now, consider another culture some would call a lost civilization but they are not lost.
I’m speaking about the indigenous people in South America. The jungle tribes who still live in the jungle separate from civilization. What do they eat? Do they survive on a fruit diet or whatever they can find? I’m sure they are not afflicted by the same diseases that afflict civilized societies today. I’m sure they have no cancer, no diabetes or heart disease.

When I was a kid, I always craved meat. I didn't understand why in my country for most meals, you can have a lot of everything else BUT meat, and we were taught not to eat the meat until we finished everything on our plates. I didn't understand why I was to only eat an egg or two, tops, when I always craved more. Now it all makes sense. I went carnivore for a week, my anxiety went away. So did depression. I was calm, grounded, clear headed. Dropping fat from my belly like crazy after a life of always having a belly, even at my most active. I'm getting back to meat this coming week. Not saying I won't have some plant based meals (as a Nigerian, there are so many delicious meals I would miss) but at least I'm gonna be carnivore 6 days a week. I'll see how it goes.

For a few years, I was having pain in my left saliva gland and to me it felt swollen all the time. Went to a specialist ENT and he said that there was nothing wrong with me and that it was a normal size. I stopped eating salads all the time and I loved kimchi and stopped eating that and a lot of other vegetables and my problem cleared up. No more pain. I still eat some vegetables and some fruit but not as much as before.

This explains a lot. I used to eat almonds like 100 to 150 at a time. I always felt very weird afterward. I didn't realize I was poisoning myself by doing this because they always talked about how good almonds were for your health. Yes, I quit eating almonds a few months ago because every time after I would just eat a few of them anymore, I would get that weird feeling again.

Nutrition advise seems very confusing. The UK Zoe team are still advocating eating a wide verity of plants to feed the microbiome. My suggestion is to experiment on yourself. My gut pain and several other issues have disappeared since switching to only animal based foods and am so much better for not eating fibre!

The assumption is that you need plants (espc fibre) to increase the biodiversity of your gut). This does seem to be beneficial to an extent. But there is NO research on the gut behaviour on a pure carnivore diet. There are some indications that the biodiversity declines, but in my experience carnivore, zero-fibre diet completely eliminated my gut issues. I think a great deal more research needs to be done on people on pure carnivore diets in order to develop a more accurate benchmark on what represents a healthy gut.

@@stevelewin8538 Plenty of research though showing low fiber, high meat/animal protein/high fat western diet patterns to negatively and conditionally cause increases in pathogenic strains of bacteria associated with colorectal cancer development.
Whilst of course high fiber diets have conditionally shown to increase beneficial strains associated either with anti-cancer/colorectal cancer protective benefits or GI related benefits in general.
No matter what way we want to paint it, IBS, foodmap issues aside, a zero fiber no plant diet is moronic.
