- What are the differences between a 2001 Ford Mustang GT & a 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt? I highlight the differences between them.

a beautiful example of a Bullitt. That car caused quite a stir in the Mustang community back in the day and it paved the way for the Mach1. I would love to add one to my garage.. maybe a True Blue one. Great info in this video.
Thank you! They have aged well!
Thats a clean Bullitt!!! Nice vid, Ford had 275hp on the original literature then rated it at 265hp and that stuck for years but Ford updated it to 275hp again a few years back. I read they scaled back the 275 figure to keep model separation and not to steal thunder from the 01 Cobra which was rated at 320hp and barely edged out the Bullitt in the 1/4 mile test (Motorweek test). True blue #4133 here.
Thanks! That's interesting, I never heard they revised the HP numbers.
The mach 1 originally came out in the 70s. The first bullit was in the 90s. So his did it pave the way for the mach 1
Not the name, but a lot of the features. It had the same brakes, seats, gauges, etc
Slight change between the Bullitt and the Mach 1 gauges….
The 5 speed Mach 1’s had a higher redline (around 6800) and the Mach 1 gauges also read “Premium Unleaded Only” compared to the Bullitt’s arrow point to the passenger side and reading “Fuel Door”. The Bullitt gauges also, in general have a slightly thicker bolder font than the Mach 1’s. On the Mach 1’s tach the white tick marks end at redline and from there the tick marks are just red.
On the Bullitt the tach’s tick marks (thousands) are all white.
So, between the two cars the gauge cluster wasn’t just pulled from the Bullitt and put in a Mach 1…..I’d say the Mach 1 gauges were “inspired by” the Bullitt rather than “the same”.
Props to the Bullitt though for paving the way for the 2003/2004 Mach 1.
My neighbors got one of these, and I've admired it for years. Made me fall in love with New Edges. Finally gonna buy it from him someday!
Very clean car, I own #3445 in black, I drive it on french roads! one of my favorites! More content about your Bullitt would be great.
It’s a gorgeous example..Those wheels look great and the lowering springs are perfect…
Beautiful example of a well kept Bullitt..I own DHG #2053 and have owned it since 2009, 90,000 original miles and sitting in my garage patiently waiting for cams and a turbo. A true mustang collectors car in the making
Thanks!
Definitely more videos of a bullet for sure!
Great informative video . I love Gen 4 Mustangs. I own a 2003 Mach 1 and a 2004 GT. Thanks for the great information. Your Bullitt is Beautiful!❤
I love the Machs as well! Thanks for the comment!
Very nice condition DHG Bullitt. I own a True Blue Bullitt and I've owned a black one as well.
Thank you! The true blue is a great color and the rarest of them.
Very nice info, nice to learn about the car, i recently purchased a 2001 bullitt its number #865 and i love the car man, so much history behind it 93,000 miles, perfect condition been kept in a climate controlled building for 13 years untill i bought it
Congrats on the purchase! Follow me on Instagram so I can see some pictures!
Sadly the owner riced it the fuck out
@@lordfarquaad4174 What are you talking about?
@@R3X24 Lol that was a pretty late reply
In 2001 I factory ordered one in DHG...and I still have it...
I got a dark highland green #717 this Bullitt was own by 3. That I know of. First owner and then my dad now me. 98k miles one. Needs some repainting. Grandkids had put some scratches in it. Still our favorite car. I want to keep it in the family.
Long tube headers
A program like one you buy that's pretuned
373 gears
Stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel
Wheels are cobra replicas 17s the back is a deep 315 35 17 10inch wide.
Thanks for the insight helps I didn't know about the rear windows. Floor mats ect.
More Bullitt content 👍
I'm liking this channel dude! Good stuff 😎👍. That coming from a zl1 owner.
Thanks Man! Also a big fan of the ZL1 platform!
@@KonaBlueSVT its a 5th gen ZL1 . But I still love it. After it's ceramic coated and when I start modding, I'll start posting videos. 😁. I love the stang collection you and your pops have!
I'll keep an eye out for some videos !
@@KonaBlueSVT I'll be sure to let you know 👍nursing a knee surgery currently.
Annnnd I found a true blue bullitt.might scoop it this week. I still need to get an iPad that can handle the gopro vids. Still working on that.
Very well done video of your dad’s Bullitt. I am current owner of True Blue #3250. I see you are local to me. Will keep an eye out for you come springtime! Keep up the fine work!
We will have to get together for some photos if you are close!

@@KonaBlueSVTAND DO I THINK THEY WILL BE A VALUABLE MUSTANG YES I DO LOL DO I THINK THEY WILL BE IN THE SAME VALUE RANGE AS MY 2 SUPER SNAKES LOL PROBABLY NOT BUT I DEFINITELY THINK THEY WILL BRING SOME MONEY IN THE FUTURE.
Very clean bullitt ! I have one#2055. That serial number is also located underneath the rear seat !
Thanks!
Very nice!
Thank you!
Good video
Thanks for the watch & comment!
Do a pov video 📷 with the bullit please 🤝
It sounds wonderful
Thanks!
I’m the owner of 00422 from 2001. It’s one of the DHGs and has 169,000 miles on it. I’ve only put 10,000 on it myself after buying it back in 2011.
Unfortunately, the previous owner put a GT spoiler on the trunk. Otherwise, everything is in order including the short rocker panels with the mud flap.
It's always cool to hear about the higher mileage cars!
Where did you get that shift knob made? I love it
Someone on the Bullitt forum had them made back in the day.
Your mustangs are the same colors as mines, I own a 98 dark green mustang & a 2010 Kona blue mustang.
Got a black one in my garage with less than 25k miles love the car!
Awesome!
Watching this video, actually made my decision to buy the girlfriends dad's highland green bullitt that much easier, finally picked it up about a week ago actually!
Congratulations! They are awesome cars. They are getting rare.
@@KonaBlueSVT the one I got was kinda botched from an accident 20 years ago, but overall it's in good shape, lower kilometers, needs some panel gaps fixed, and a bit of paint work, but your right, I didn't know there was only just over 5000 total of this gen, it's been in her family a long time, and it was to replace a sentimental car I owned that got wrecked, I can see why he had it so long until he found an orange 2012 boss 302, it honestly is a wonderful car to drive, so far 1 week in 1000km down, and it's made me want to find a second gt just so I can keep it nice and mess with a lesser value car! 😅
I LOVE THE BULLET MUSTANG AND THESE GET A LOT OF HATE OF HOW SLOW THEY ARE LOL I GET IT BUT I DON'T CARE LOL THEY LOOK GREAT AND SOUND EVEN BETTER AND THEY CAN BE A FAST CAR IF YOU WANT TO INVEST MONEY TOO THEM.
Clean
Thanks!
Just bought #895..with 30k beautiful car , last owner solved power problem with turbo charger upgrade
Nice!
front Bullit emblem looks insane
Thanks!
I vote more bullitt content ✅
I am open to ideas!!
Beautiful car
Thank you!
More Bullitt content 😊
Im the new proud owner of an 01 DHG Bullitt #3776 its 🍒
Congratulations! Any mods or still stock?
@@KonaBlueSVT its got alot of tastful mods appearance wise, and alot of performance handling mods, its been lowered, Borla Atak cat backs, super clean everywhere. This car looks killer. Runs and drives great, sounds intoxicating😍🥰🤗 all the original parts came with the car, still have the front rock guards and the mach 460 sound system, running short throw shifter...its so fun
Enjoy!
Funny how the 2003 mach 1 was introduced with the same mudflap style rocker panels. But once in production they got rid of them.
Which has more HP
@@BorisBidjanSaberi11 the Mach 1. Had the same 32v as the Cobra.
@@19907up thanks mate. I've been looking to buy my dad another Gen 4, he loves the Mach 1, says the terminator has too much power 😂, but likes the IRS. Hes never mentioned the Bullitt and I forgot they existed for a while
He didn't mention factory Brembo brakes, Tokico suspension was standard...and factory lowered...among a bunch of other interesting mods.
I know someone who has a 2001 bullitt but I drive it sometimes 💯💪🏾
- edit also the person who I know that has it has had a green one before also then he got a black one
I own 00492 33k original miles. I would love to have one of the grille emblems. Where did you have it made
A family friend custom made it.
I think they came stock with subframe connectors as well.
I knew I missed a few things! Thanks for the info!
I have a 2001 bullet and I would like to get that insert like you have instead of the pony. Can you tell me where you got that from
It was a custom one I had made.
@@KonaBlueSVT suggestions who are might go to
@jatalberg find a shop with a water jet that will do custom work.
Just found one for 9k 68,534 original miles, thinking about buying any thoughts before I buy it?
Sounds like a pretty good deal in this market. Especially if it's clean.
Definitely a great deal, sorry for the late reply... But Yes, in this mustang market now, prices are ridiculous 🙄... Good Luck 🤞...
Just purchased number 69 no joke
Nice! What color?
@@KonaBlueSVT Highland Green
Dam i miss mine i had 5125.
Whats rear end gear ratio on 2001 bullitt?
Same as the GT 3.27.
Where can i get a shifter handle like that?
Unfortunately this was a limited run from the guys over at IMBOC.com. it's not available anymore.
I’m thinking of buying a 2001 bullit for 25k 12,500miles and I plan on faulting it do you think its a good idea?
Thats pretty steep on price. What do you plan to do with it?
@@KonaBlueSVT I meant to type daily, I plan on dailying it to work I just lost my 94 gt in a accident last month
Personally I wouldn't daily it. Especially with that low of mileage for that price. For a DD I would look at an s197 or s550. They are way more comfortable/ practical for a daily.
@@KonaBlueSVT I know I wanted another gt and I was planing on going with later s197 ‘like a 2014 but if feel if I’m gonnna spend that much on a newer 5.0 why not get a bullitt
Bullitt for ever
Where can I get those wheels?
www.lethalperformance.com/oe-wheels-18-replica-wheel-fr01-fits-ford-mustang-bullitt-rim-18x9-gunmetal-wheel-fr01-18090-5450-24am.html
Where did you get the wheels?? The deeper the dish the badder it looks
LMR
@@KonaBlueSVT They look beautiful. 18x9 all around, or staggered setup? I want that setup for my own '01 Bullitt.
All around!
What if my true blue came with the spoiler ?
Then you have the only factory spoiler 2001 bullitt in existence.
Idk if it’s worth going from my 3V to this for more money.
It all depends what you like. Personally I love the New Edge and the S197.
Enjoyed your video. I have that same bullitt with 43,000 miles. I'm selling it. If you know anyone that's interested please let me know. I'm in Minnesota. Charlie
Thank you! Send me some photos and a price and I'll pass it around. Konabluesvt@gmail.com
Had one but started blowing heavy smoke at 98,000 miles. Smh.
That's just bad luck there!
It's too bad these didn't come with the Cobra/Mach 1 32V motor.
So true! The rumor is, that was the plan, but they shut it down so as not to overshadow those cars.
I like these buillitts but i wish ford would of gotten closer to 300 hp with these!!
5 horse power more 😂
Yeah, they were not known for big numbers....
That's a mustang gt bullitt 🤔
It only has 5 horse power more that the regular gt 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol, yep. Unfortunately.
@@KonaBlueSVT a guy wants 11k for one true blue but a g t same year can go for 5k to 7k
The Bullitt holds its value way better.
They were still slow then! I can't stand Ford under powered this car
it's like a cheap version of GT
🤣🤣 except nicer, rare, makes more power, sounds better, and more valuable. But other than that, yeah.
Complete waste of time to post a video and not start the engine. I had one of these cars for several years and the engine note was tremendous. And all that stuff that he has put on the car that is non-original is only going to lower the value.
😅 these cars are pretty quiet stock. Also everything on this car is bolt on and I still have all the OEM parts. 🤙
@@KonaBlueSVT They are NOT quiet stock. Ford put 1000 man hours into the exhaust system to make it sound as much like the big block in the movie car as possible. It was the loudest legal exhaust system allowed anywhere in the US. The crackle on the overrun is enough to give anyone goosebumps.
@@bigtrain2445Hate to break it to ya, but they are quiet stock. I have a 2004 Mach 1 (Azure Blue, 5 speed car) and the 03-04 Mach 1’s came from the factory with the same stainless steel Arvin dual exhaust system as the 2001 Bullitt’s did. It’s a nice system, when driving and giving it the beans it does have a nice low rumble but it’s muffled ALOT….and just sitting in the driveway idling I can barely hear it…..and it’s a 4 valve.
My bone stock 2017 Power Wagon with the 6.4 Hemi sounds louder through its stock exhaust than the Mach 1 does.
Sure, the Bullitt/Mach (stock) would be a tad louder than a normal GT but it’s nothing to write home about.
Now, my other ‘04 Mach 1 (Torch Red) is a different story. It’s over 700rwhp and it’s rocking a Borla ATAK system and holy HELL is it loud and rowdy sounding. Night and day!
