      @@vidsbfree4me Even if that were true (it isn't), it's still a Toyota Camry and will never be a Mustang. Everyone likes different cars and acceleration isn't everything. Also if only speaking acceleration wise, this still would only be a fair comparison of a Camry made in 01, which took 8 secs to get to 60 mph, and that was the "SE Sport" version, not the vanilla.
      Even the '24 Camry still takes 7.6 secs to get to 60, still not even on par with a base 01 Mustang V6 (7 secs flat).

      Those 2V cars were a joke. 260 hp out of a “muscle car” was pathetic, even for its home. The Camaros were hurting feelings even if they didn’t look as good.

      @TheSmokingDen 9 месяцев назад +13

      @juanrivas494 260 hp was a healthy, if not awe-inspiring figure for the late 90s. It was almost as powerful as an NSX or a 911 for the time.

      @@TheSmokingDen Having a 260 hp 4.6 V8 in 2001 and being less powerful than the 290hp V6 2001 NSX and 300hp 2001 V6 911 Carrera is rather abysmal. Just two years later, the 3.5 V6 Infinity G35 was making the same amount of horsepower. What's really sad is the 1989 Taurus SHO was making 220 hp out of 3.0 V6, you would think an engine 50% larger and with two extra cylinders would be a lot more powerful than a 12 year old design.

I don’t think particularly like the Fox Mustangs and don’t think they look great, but there are PLENTY of way uglier cars out there. You really gonna tell me a late ‘80s Buick Century is a better looking car? How about a Pontiac 6000? A late ‘70s Mercury Monarch? The Aztek? Dodge Aries? Should I go on? Yours is an absurd comment. The Fox Mustangs are middle of the road, undeserving of any best-of list, but certainly not the worst-of either.

Connecting rods kept blowing out of the side of the block on the test stand, so they teamed up with manley, an aftermarket performance company and made a Ford specific H beam connecting rod for 03/04s . The bottom end of the 2003 and 2004 cobra can handle nearly 1000 hp on stock internals. They coined the car the “Terminator”. In 2024 the power still holds up to today’s standards. McQueen's Mustang had fifteen inch wheels, real tires, and NO computers. I actually own a 2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang V6. Had it for almost 5 years. I bought it for a daily driver. I really wanted a fourth generation Camaro or Firebird V6, but couldn't find a decent one in my price range. In fact, it was almost impossible to find one at all. So I was basically "stuck" with the Mustang. I got a really nice one with only 77K miles on it for $4200. For some reason, V6 Mustangs depreciate like crazy, while V6 Camaros and Firebirds don't. The Mustang is somewhat of an "ugly duckling" compared to the Camaro/Firebird, but my bright yellow one does look a lot better than all those little gray front wheel drive four door sedans and crossovers out there. But that is mostly because of the color. The 1979-2004 Mustangs are not good looking cars. It's hard to believe they sold at all against the third and fourth generation Camaro/Firebird.

      No, the Cobra still has all the best equipment you could get in a Mustang of that vintage. Power windows/locks/seats, the top Mach 460 radio, keyless entry, traction control, ABS etc. It's just today even base cars come with a level of equipment that's leagues above what the top trims offered 20+ years ago. You can't get manual windows, manual locks, etc, in a Mustang anymore. Actually, I don't think you could get manual windows/locks in a Mustang back then either even on the base models.
