MAN WHEN I SAW THAT MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME I WAS HOOKED AND I WANTED A 07 TORCH RED WITH WHITE STRIPES GT500 BUT HONESTLY AT THE TIME I COULDN'T AFFORD ONE BUT MANY YEARS LATER I HAVE A 08 GT500 IN THE SAME COLOR AS I AM LEGAND AND I LOVE THE CAR.
I like this body style a lot better than the 2024 mustang horse 🐎 car 🚘
Caraca esse canal é um arraso sensacional que carro lindo esse conbina comigo 😁👍
Love em.
I was 14 when this came out
I was waiting for the car to lose it on the 0-60 launch and go into a crowd of spectators while one guy yells, "he too old! He too old!"
In 3000 the early 2000s are gonna be from 2000-2300 😱
comes stock with the CEL?
"But there's more to the GT500 than just a BIG V8." 330 cubic inches, and a 330 rear gear ratio. 😗
Not bad car saw one for $27.000 in mint condition manual.
The King 👑 has returnith 🤣🤣🤣 n to this day!! Ohhhhh and I might add will be the only 1 standing!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How much is 2008 Shelby convertible go for nowadays?
As awesome iconic and badass and legendary this exact car is and deserves the praise it once deserved it goes for around mid 30s which I find ridiculous its too much even for this legendary car this car is a solid 20k car all day but 30s and for super clean ones 40s? Man that's too much
Car deserves the respect it once got modern society failed this car as usual
Do the 2014 GT500 next
0-60 and 1/4 would've been quicker if TCS was activated and Ford used the NITTO tires instead of those lousy Goodyear tires.
Well, now I’m old
Exactly. All these great '80's & '90's (which is what Retro Review SHOULD mean!) reviews they haven't uploaded yet, & they seem to be stuck on the mid-to-late 2000's lately.
@@landyachtfan79 thats true. they seem to have just uploaded an 80s car today I think. But for god sakes I was born in 2007!
I'll never understand the performance numbers this car made. With 500 horsepower, it really should have been faster. I know it has trouble putting the power down, but its trap speed is still underwhelming. Even if it was underrated, the terminator cobra had a far worse power/weight ratio, and was just as fast.
They said in the video it was damp out.
The terminator cobra was faster than this. Overall a better car too.
They can’t drive. My 2009 gt500 stock did 12.31 at 116 mph with a 2.09 60 ft time. Now currently does 11.3 at 125 mph with a pulley and tune. And that’s street tires and 60ft 2.0. These cars aren’t slow. They needed driver mods. And yes I’d can get better than 2.0 60 ft but I’m ez on this car
WELL BROTHER I HAVE BOTH CARS AND MY 04 COBRA IN STOCK FORM IS ROUGHLY 425HP AND IT WEIGHS 3400LBS BUT MY 08 GT500 IN STOCK FORM IS ROUGHLY 500HP BUT IT WEIGHS 3900LBS LOL MY POINT IS 500LBS IS A LOT MORE WEIGHT AND WITH ONLY A 75HPS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO LOL THE WEIGHT IS WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BUT I WILL SAY THIS MY BUDDY BOUGHT A WHITE WITH BLUE STRIPES 07 GT500 AND WITH JUST EXHAUST AND HEADERS AND A SET OF 410S AND A PULLIE AND A TUNE LOL THE CAR LAYED DOWN A 11.1 AT 126MPH LOL SO WITH JUST EXHAUST AND HEADERS AND A PULLIE AND A TUNE LOL THAT'S VERY IMPRESSIVE.
This is incorrect the GT500 is quite faster and looked way cooler
The interior difference between New Edge and S197 is night and day. Even when the New Edge was new it's interior was awful even compared to f bodies of the time.
07 is Retro? Wow.....
Exactly. All these great '80's & '90's (which is what Retro Review SHOULD mean!) reviews they haven't uploaded yet, & they seem to be stuck on the mid-to-late 2000's lately.
Absolutely is
Marginally better than the cobra?
To think In 3 more years this will be a 20 year old GT500 😅
I remember driving one of these when they came out and being so underwhelmed. The gearshift handle was like grabbing a softball it was so big, the car felt numb and heavy, but more importantly it’s wasn’t that quick and very little exhaust growl/engine sound. This was at a time when Ford dealers were asking $75k for them, which was absolutely insane considering the far better driving and much faster C6 Z06 had just come out the year prior for about the same price after you figured the Shelby’s markup. Luckily some of the issues were addressed with later versions
Whats it mean when someone says it feels numb?
@@brandonrickbornponyexpress6574 it means it’s like you are playing a video game or driving a simulator, you turn the steering back and forth and there is no communication coming back from the front tires. Gives you no confidence to push the car hard at all. I have driven a new GT500 though and they’ve come a long way, despite even more weight and power it’s steering actually transmitted actual road feel
You must’ve got a bad one! 2009 lol is anything but numb. And I’ve never been been told it’s slow 🤦🏻♂️
@jameswillard1 oh thank you
Man u must've had a lemon or lying because I've been in these cars even the early ones and there awesome feel great and pretty good around the corners I dunno if u had ridiculous high expectations or ur soft but completely disagree with almost everything else u said
Cripes this Mustang has the same interior as the current Mustang 🤣
Still nicer than the 2024 Camaro😂
Download test drive Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport 2003🙏🏻❤
Fck im getting old
Perception is alway fickle... Top Gear's review(back in 2007) completely thrashed the then new GT500, but we all know better...(hehehe)
Man love the exhaust of this, but it looks like now some Sport Sedans can beat this Shelby now in a drag race.
It looks like u don't understand how 16 years of technology works how insane prices work how crazy markups work how better materials to work with discovered work etc etc
Iconic car
The new mustang is cheaper and much better
the 08 was a lot better.
12.9
slow for 500hp
Limited traction with those stock tires and tall gearing.
Yeah that's pretty slow the 03-04 Terminator cobras we're faster Better Built as well
The tires on these were so shit all they did was spin
@@eternalthread7846 I don't really think there was too much good to say about the car it was really heavy as well
@@nathanlopez5667 I think it a great looking car with a solid power plant but I do agree it’s inferior to the terminator, this gt 500 does deserve some respect bc it kickstarted the return of the gt 500 in the mustang line up
120 feet 60-0 for brake performance? It really was just a huge engine stuffed in a car, and no other considerations were made.
The worst Ford Mustang Ford has ever built (2005-2009)RIP🍷
lol not even, the 4.6 motor is just slow af without boost but at least you get a real pushrod motor 🤷♂️
Love the car but the interior is horrible
How I feel about the corvette C5
@@mariokart8054 Basically any C4, C5, C6 & C7 Corvette...
@@05gtdriver C6 interior was boring but at least it was functional and didn't literally fall apart or share the head unit with their SUVs like the C5. Hard disagree on the C7, My dad's interior held up well and looked great, unless you know something I don't and the stitching would come undone at 30,000 miles or something
@mariokart8054 I was referring to the quality in regards to the price point of a modern C4 & newer Corvette. When a simple Corolla interior outshines a
car costing 4 times as much, it's sort of sad.
Yeah, I know, Mustang interiors after 1973 are pretty crappy too. The S550 Mustang is much better, but not like the German or high-end Japanese stuff.
At the time it was considered leaps and bounds more attractive than the New Edge interior. I’ve owned both and in terms of quality of materials, it was marginally better.
FAR less squeaks, creaks, and rattles than F-bodies though

Never cool to like your own comment. BTW only children put comment of first.
@@Chrispbacon99 jealous?
Fun fact: every mustang come with its own numbers matching purse 👛
And every Camaro and Challenger came with a rainbow flag included! 🏳️🌈
Get em
Fun fact every charger challenger and camaro come with there own death certificate seeing as they always end up getting slaughtered and dying a brutal death to the mustang until barley being brought back just to go away again
05-09 were garbage.
So we’re the 69-70 Shelbys but I’d take one all day long
AND WHAT YEAR GT500 DO YOU HAVE. LOL JUST CURIOUS LOL PLEASE TELL ME.
Disagree they were icons
Why?
Must be a g.m.owner taking so FOOLISH!!! If not PLEASE explain the mustang family would love to hear what you have to SAY, as I would also.
These cars with just springs shocks, intake ,tune, and pulley are drastically better and are awesome cars
