I’m going to say the viper still much better than both those other cars. The viper by a long shot with the cobra R and the z06 most definitely just ahead of it. Having watched the early nineties to late 2000 lemans progression from the GT1 GT2 GT3 split off variants to the addition of the GTS class. I’ll say the viper was the best chassis shown, Viper was a serious contender from the beginning. Starting out hot with the non-factory funded team Rent-a-Car RT10 ranked 12 it’s first year with no race history. The C4 ZR1 was considered consistently fast but the chassis was inferior and overweight and slower in gt1 format comparing to the c4 callaway gt2 non-zr1 corvettes. When the C5 chassis came out it became extremely agile. As Dodge saw the performance of the viper rt10s they immediately did a redesign for the coupe release in 96 GTS to over come the shortcomings of the RT10s, mostly the rear end stabilization. With a coupe the chassis was stiffened even more with a roof the rear aerodynamic was way improved eliminating lift with the duck tail style rear. As far as I know mechanically the GTS and RT10s suspensions were mechanically identical with updated materials and shocks. The C5R did increase chassis nimbleness but the power train still lacked to torque of the vipers while staying behind the winners in 2000. Every year after 2000 the vipers were given penalties in weight ballasts up to 400 kilos and intake restrictors down to 550 hp and both combination, therefore from then on the GTSRs were never raced a their full potential causing them to lose much ground in the GTS class allowing C5R to start to shine.
The cobra R’s performance is pathetic for that much hp. With no options! The 300zx turbo and Mazda rx7 turbo are both faster for less money and are fully loaded with options. Way to go ford.
@@crazybear5475 yeah and we're comparing the numbers to a base C5. Plus the C5 looks sexier and has perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Have fun rebuilding distributors😂
The C5 Z06 is the best car here. My dream car.
Chevy puts a common truck motor in a car, and calls it a day. Then they put the cheapest price tag, with the best lap times. Gotta love a Chevy
and still gets owned by the viper, gotta love dodge.
@@CJ-vq5tgperhaps you’re blind? The vette is literally faster around track.

I love the Cobra R. It was the most appealing Mustang for me, and I own a Corvette. I'd rather have a Cobra R.
116 trap speed on the Zo6 should have yielded a quicker 1/4 time you think..
🤩🤩🤩
Welp....God bless America
Expect more from mustang
Motortrend got the Cobra R to 60 in 4.4. Motorweek usually has the slowest and sloppiest 0-60 times.
its a shitstang, what do you expect

The RX7 is not nearly as reliable or special as the Cobra R.
@@hakeemsd70m neither one is made anymore nor can you find one still running.
A Mustang more expensive than a Corvette and slower.
The C4 1990 ZR1 is still faster for less money than all three of these.
Too bad the C4 is a pile of flexy plastic next to the rock solid C5. I would much rather have a base C5 over any C4.
