Thank you Frank! My pilot valve wire was broken. Soldered it back and the heater is working now. Thanks for providing the solution and instilling the courage to try this. We were on day 4 with no hot water. Thank you!!
I only wish the video was better because I didn't use enough pictures and close-ups but I'm glad someone else was able to fix theirs. It's an easy fix. Someone replied that is in the hot water heater business saying it won't last but although I don't live in that house anymore I am still close with the previous owner and that was three plus years ago and that heater is going strong without any problems
I too took my Honeywell Control Panel apart and for some reason the wiring inside was not connected to the circuit board. The water was still operating without that connection. I did clean the gas line connection to the panel best as I can and brushed the burner..let’s see if the control panel gives me a status light (blue) and the water heater stays on for more than a month
Well Done Frank! Is it still going? Usually that's only a temporary fix until the valve finally fails? I've seen that technique used to get rid of a code 4. How about an update on the water heater? Thanks for sharing your experience !
If you took the coil out, the relay, you'll see the magnet wire is broken and you can just fix it by resoldering The magnet wire onto the post. I'm trying to figure out a way to edit this video so I can add the additional pictures I have.
Sorry, I can fix many things but I can't do the video thing very well. If you have this hot water heater control, use the 9 volt battery to test the solenoids and the one solenoid on mine had a broken wire at the magnet and the other one was ready to go but I took them up into my soldering station and was able to fix them and save myself some money. So here's the LinkedIn link with pictures. I should have done a better job at that to give people clarity but maybe this helps and I would even send you some personal pictures I have of it as opposed to the ones on LinkedIn if it could help you. Have a great weekend. www.linkedin.com/posts/frank-collins_httpslnkdinge6tgsu-i-came-home-last-activity-6707307080547733504-w_og?
5 years and still working. I did not capture the video well and judging by your comment, I would guess you are not very well versed in fixing anything that requires repair. Solder the magnet wire to fix the coil and you will have the functionality of the pilot solenoid returned.
@supermoto3261 I don't know what you're talking about "shoe the flame" and your next comment is disrespectful. This was in my infancy of taking RUclips videos so 7 years later in this hot water heater is still working.
@supermoto3261 I did not take a video for this and this was when I first started doing RUclips videos so I screwed up royally taking the video but 7 years later this hot water heater is still working so you should refrain from your vulgar comments.

That valve is simple. The coil wires break. An update? The heater is still working with no issues.
3+ years and going strong.
My pilot side does nothing, so what’s the cure ? I have new control valve on its way but I’m curious what’s the fix

it is bad starting for you ,always keep the camera fixed and let the action in front of it.
Do you want to buy a 911 slantnose red. 😅
Hi George and no thanks
He also cuts the sound so you can't hear him realize he didn't fix shitttt
