    Oh my goodness. This was the perfect video for my situation. I was about to call a plumber but this saved me hundreds. Now, if I can get the anode rods out of the water heaters at my business. They are tough to loosen. Thanks very much for this posting.

    • @frugaldiy1
      @frugaldiy1  2 года назад

      You're welcome, Jeffery. For the anode rod, you can try spraying it with silicone lubricant spray two different times and giving it some time to work, maybe a day. Only drain a bit of water out because you need the weight of the water to stabilize the water heater. Then, hit it with an impact drill or a 1/2" socket and ratchet with a cheater bar at the end. You need the cheater bar for leverage.

    WOKE UP SUNDAY MORNING 3-5-2023, and to my disgruntled belief, I went to take a shower and had no hot water. Had the dreaded 4 flashes of water heater death. Never had it before. Got on Amazon to purchase another one. This current one with the 4 flashes, I had bought brand new back in 2015. I was going to do a reorder of the Honeywell Natural Gas control valve/thermostat off of Amazon. I stopped and said to myself, let me look up this code and refresh my memory about the installation of it, on RUclips first. So glad i did. I had decided to refresh my memory on how I ignited it and installed it, and came across this video. I'm so glad I looked at your video before doing the reorder. I did exactly as you instructed and it worked like a charm. In less than 5 minutes, I was up and running with hot water again. THANK YOU THANK YOU. The price of these have gone up significantly in my area. You saved me almost $150 bucks. The one I purchased from Amazon in 2015, new, was about $115 bucks. Again Thank you so much.

    Thank you @frugaldiy1. The one step that I added before following these steps was to flush the water tank for about 15 minutes before following your troubleshooting tip. The manufacturer of the water tank had suggested that I flush the tank since there was about 9 years worth of build up in it and the sediment might have caused the failure in the first place. The burner came on and I am waiting for a few hours to make sure the burner stays on and heats the water as expected. Lifesaver!

      @@frugaldiy1 - thankfully it was 65 degrees in Northern Virginia today (1/3/23) and I was also able to do the water tank flush otherwise I would not have been able to purge the (almost) nine year sediment build-up.

    Thank you, thank you! I called the water heater company. My unit was under warranty,so they are sending out a new gas control valve. No plumber had availability to come this week. Was without hot water for four days. This reset fixed my problem. I even asked the first plumber if there was some kind of reset and he said no. I am a happy hot water user again. Thanks so much for this video.
