As a new owner of a 2005 LR3, I am so thankful that you decided to buy a Land Rover for Aspen! I learned recently that you can change the function of the lock/unlock buttons from only affecting the driver's door to affecting all the doors (my preference) by holding the lock and unlock buttons down together for 3 seconds. Repeating the 3 seconds returns them to just the driver's door. Looking forward to the back up camera/ cell phone connection episode!
I believe your paint is fine what is pealing is your clear coat that protects the paint , have clear coat remove the have paint buff and polished and have it clear coated again much cheaper than painted whole car
Doug, thank you for your kind words! I make it a point however, in every video that’s mechanical in nature, to say I am not a mechanic. I Am just a dad, refurbishing an LR3 for his daughter, and bringing the audience along for the journey.
My 2012 Sport was recently totaled in a accident and I purchased a 2012 full size hse. Has some sorting out to do as all of them seem to but the lock issue you demonstrated is present as well. Would love to see where and how to trouble shoot this system.
Mike I forgot to say I'm interested in all these videos because after watching TLF channel and having them say that land rovers between 2004and 2009 are the best used vehicles to own if you are planning on buying one. I am watching yours so I can be sure I can find one that is right for me and my family. I also like and subscribe
Where would we get the gap id device? We just got a key made for our LR 3, from Minute Key. After three attempts, we have a key that starts the car, but does not lock or unlock the car. We DID have a new car battery installed about a month ago, and after that started having issues with our key. We dont know if our original key suddenly not working is connected to that or if it is just a coincidence. Thank you in advance. Im hoping to avoid a trip to the dealership for an $800 key.
Watch this video I posted on how to program LR3 remotes with the GAP IID tool: Programming LR3 Remotes With the GAP IID Tool - Ep.10 ruclips.net/video/CfpqHQGc3jE/видео.html A link to purchase the GAP IID tool is in the description of that video.
The seat covers installed in episode 14 are awesome. Just the mere act of the seats being in the warm cabin area during the day has made the leather nice and tight. One of my favorite upgrades.
As I said stated the last time you asked this question, The LR3 came in three engine types; the V6 petrol, V6 diesel, and the V8 petrol. I am trying to immediately inform the audience of the engine size and fuel type so they can determine if my content applies to their LR3.
I didn't see your reply; I looked but it must have been earlier than you replied. I guess I should have waited long before checking to see if you answered. I don't really realize how many people you respond to. Thank you for your channel.
Oh… that door issue… 🙈 🫣 Mine started with the rear right, then… front right (passenger side) , now rear is only (manual, lock and unlock) front unlocks ok, to lock, need to a couple of presses in the key or inside, which then disable the internal volumetric sensor. So… I just use my thumb and do it manually (until I get the b..”grips” for replacing the actuator)
That LR3 with clear headlights looks so much better!

Hi Mike, another great episode thank you. I'd like to see you tackle the paintwork with some cut & polish, I think we will be surprised.
Ok. We will make it happen.

Next LR3 video will likely be installing the new stereo deck, then fixing the lock.

Thank you, BJ! Very much appreciated.
very good video. thanks for sharing
Upside down Jermy you are very welcome.
The best would be to solder the battery to the circuit board. I think it should have been that in the first place.
Jon you are absolutely right!!

How are the seat covers on the lr3?

Any thoughts on alternate paint options for hood and top.
We are getting the exterior painted a custom color.
Mike
I would like to know why you don't just say naturally aspirated v8
