    Hey Mike :) I am loving your instructional video's - thank you so much and I hope your daughter appreciates the effort you make getting her LR3 ready for her to use. I have the exact same 4.4V8 LR3 and I'm so glad I found your channel, because as you're probably aware, most youtube video's of LR3's are of 2.7lt diesel motors. I feel much more confident approaching a problem watching one of you clips being the same running gear as my baby. I live in Brisbane Australia and will be spending many a weekend toying with my Disco thanks to you - big thumbs up mate, thanks.

      You are so welcome! I agree, there are so many videos on the diesels and the TD V6 that I make it a point to clarify the engine type of our LR3 at the beginning of every video.

    Yep I just used a quick splice connector across the two switch wires - fixed 12yrs ago - have just fitted a new splice - should be good for another 12yrs.

    Find your videos really helpful and so enjoyable to watch. Thank you for that. Btw , did anybody mentioned to you that you look like Chip Gaines. Anyway, more power to you.

      Thank you, Ertugral for your kind comments! I have never heard that comparison but my wife says she can see a slight resemblance when I smile.

    A temporary fix is a paper clip in the harness plug.

    Hi Mike, I needed your help
    I am having issue starting LR3 2005 4.4L v8 petrol model. Sometimes the car is not starting no crack at all (3 times it started when connected with external Battery charger , battery charged fully and clearing codes) and it will operate without any issues for some days and the same issue repeats. The thing is that same setup is not working always and I observed security red light is still blinking when key is inserted while having issue. When the key is reading I was able to program 2 more keys with JLR Mangoose cable. This keys also not operational while having issue. I have already changed battery with 92ah agm battery. Confirmed key is having correct program. So I am suspecting immobiliser system something issue.Please take time create content on key immobilizer issues so that I can clear the issue

    I should also mention mine was setting the alarm off all the time. Thats what was bothering me. But it would say Hood Open also. But for some reason cleaning it fixed it?

    Hi Mike, Considering you are such a great researcher (as evidenced by your excellent videos), I thought you might have a thought on this. We now have 2 older Rovers, and I plan on doing repairs that are within my comfort zone (about to do the hood latch alarm switch). But I don't have a mechanic's tool set. Any recommendation on a brand and a "set" recommendation - how big of a set for the types of repairs you tackle? Thanks as always.

      I have watched a couple videos from Chris Fix on this exact topic and definitely agree with his recommendations. I am personally attracted to any task which justifies a new tool so don’t worry about getting everything imaginable at the outset.

    Luckily my issue was solve with some WD40+ electric contact cleaner (rather a lot of contact cleaner) :D

    Thanks for the video. I’m in the UK so the Amazon link doesn’t work, 😢
    Can you give the LR part number please? Also, do you know the part number for the two mounting bolts too? Mine are FUBAR

    Hi Mike changed the switch and light still is on?

    • @wafflesquare
      @wafflesquare  Месяц назад

      Sounds like a wiring issue then. I would test the switch witch the continuity setting on a volt meter then short across the wires at the plug for the switch. Perhaps there is corrosion on the plug contacts which needs to be sanded.
