"when you start to feel overwhelmed"-- Exactly! When your actual living space begins to look like a manic greenhouse and half your collection is suffering, it's time to evaluate....
As always, loved this video. So funny and so enjoyable. Was giggling throughout as you set up the trellises. I loved "The Man who mistook his wife for a Hat". A fascinating book I should revisit.
Hi! How are you? It's a pleasure watching your video. 😊 Hoya Thomsonii is not a difficult one. Mine grows in the kitchen on a east facing window. It doesn't like spraying. I water it every 3 days because of a universal soil. I hope my experience will be useful for you.
Love the sound of cicadas! I also find it really funny when people ask why do you have x.. because I want it/I like it. Why else would you have it? I am actually really glad you did this because I was going to buy those trellis and now I am not. TYVM!
Fun video! I just happened to order a few minutes ago similar trellises (tomato cages) for my first hoya bought 1 year ago. Then I happened to find a video from last year by More Houseplant Therapy channel guy, on The Top 5 Houseplant Experts on RUclips. He asked a browser AI who the most viewed are, and your name came up on the list, one I've not heard of. So I looked you up, scanned your list, and saw this one on putting hoyas on a trellis. Thank you for confirming my choice! 😂
I love how smart you are, I agree with the Hoya tendrils looking for something to grow on before growing leaves, I wondered for a long time why my Hoya elliptica was having baby leaves fall and that was why, he needed something to grow on. Just like how Pothos grow big leaves on a moss pole 🤷🏼♀️ same idea
I'm a fellow green flower lover! I just love green I guess. Will be picking up a nicholsoniae if I happen across one now. Really hoping to get some green flowering plants to go in our fern garden once it warms up a bit
OMG! I had no idea we had so much in common, Betsy. I'm a former English-teacher from the US, plant parent, and cat mom living in Mexico who hates fantasy as much as I love lifting weights while listening to old-school hip-hop (also love the old Black Keys!).
As a fellow plant person, previous theatre person, and someone who also likes to pick heavy things up and put them back down, I LOVE your content. I'd totally be here for a casual workout video of yours. A non-fitness youtuber doing fitness would be really refreshing, and I know it would be very entertaining from you. This is also inspiring me to re-trellis one of my hoyas which is seemingly trying to exit earth.
Good afternoon Miss Betsy ... Hoyas !!! Calls for a song : Ho, ya, ya, ya, canta y no llores ... Enough !!! And a cameo appearance by Unkle Frank ... You are spoiling us ... Thank you !!! See you in the next one ... Have a great evening ... La, di, da, la, di, da, la, la ... ✌️🙂🦊
I just placed a large order with AH Hoya and I’m so excited to get it! Ty for getting me stuck on hoyas. Absolutely feeling hoyas and anthuriums now and that’s about it lol
Didn't know you are from Ohio, I'm in Perrysburg. Yes, love the sound of cicadas, but they always mean the end of summer is coming, so kinda bittersweet. Winter has been mild, strings of cloudy gray days, half day of sun, more clouds, no real snow to play in so far, you know the drill. Love ya, stay warm, stay safe! 💚
I loved every part of this (as I always do). Hoyas and Betsy! I’m there. I also just recently ordered a few more hoyas, including another Hoya mystery box. 😱 I would also say that I’m too much into “ aesthetic” and I have dropped some coins on some really pretty copper trellises for my hoyas.

Hi Betsy! This was fun, as usual! On trellis's, have you ever thought about trying to make some out of wire? I'll bet you would come up with some really cool ones, and I'd love to see you do a video on it. Hint, hint. LOL! Years ago, I mean literally years ago, I took a wire coat hanger and bent it into a heart shape, then wrapped it with floral tape. It didn't come out too bad. I actually still have it and may dig it out to use one of these days, probably outside. I do like the round ones you used, much better then the others, which used to be just about all you could find years ago. Your new Hoyas are so cute! Good luck with them. The Hoyas you put on a trellis are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! Also, loved seeing Fred and the kitty in the hammock.
Nummularioides has been a prolific bloomer for me. And yes, it is very fragrant especially when the room goes dark. However, I don't love the smell. I will be interested to hear your take on the scent.
Im so happy to see you sister!! You look great! Love, love, love the hoya haul, my God their stunning. Hands down hoya is my MOST favorite plant & I have quite a few myself. Mine actually grow better in the winter believe it or not & their pushing out WAY more leaves now than in the summer lol. Ive always been told I do things ass backwards! You know what would be really funny? If they start to bloom in the winter to lol!
Was half listening/half watching while looking at fragrances online (idk how my brain decides what it's interested in... I can't even smell them over the internet! Why do I want to read about them?) And felt a sudden (frightening?) jolt when you read my username and announced my question. I completely forgot I asked anything. I did not expect the fourth wall to break today. I miss the cicadas too! Nice answer.
Of course on the trash bag. On that line, Toilet paper. If you use the last of it you are responsible to put the new roll on. Also, don't be that person that leave three squares on the roll so you don't have to replace it. (full disclosure I have done this before, lol)
I tend to order from Ryanne Orchidee as well since I'm from Belgium :D I recently ordered some hoyas and they will be shipped when it's warmer :D They recently added hoya compactas and mathildes to their range ^^
I lived in Guatemala for 15 years but I was born in Peru, both countries speak spanish but they speak a different spanish, the jargon, the accent, everything seems different and it made it quite difficult for me to understand when I was a kid, trying to study there. Now I home come back to Peru and boy oh boy I feel like a foreigner sometimes, cause I don't understand the jargon, sometimes my accent sounds very odd. Also, since I'm native bilingual my spanish has suffered quite a lot to the point that my english sounds better... it's quite sad when people treat you like a tourist all the time. So, I don't have your same experience with going back to the US, because every time I go back to Guatemala I feel more at ease and "at home" but never to that actual point. So, I don't feel at home neither in Peru or Guatemala. >M>
Hi, Betsy! Thank you for your enlightening as well as entertaining content! I'm Honungstjuven on instagram, and I had totally forgotten asking you that question, so I was very surprised to se my lil' picture pop up in this video :) You pronounced it quite well actually, it means "the honey thief" in swedish and the picture is of me as a kid with a jar of honey and a spoon in my mouth.

In my opinion, this is a beautiful way to remember a stunning creature that deserves respect and honor. I admire this fox, I take good care of it, I thank it for finding its way to me where I can appreciate it on a daily basis rather than it sitting in an attic somewhere gathering dust (it was quite dusty when it reached me). Furthermore the preservation of species is important and there are professionals who make museum-quality, anatomically correct work so that other people can see and appreciate species that they never would have been able to see before. This is vital, especially in the education of species endangerment, extinction, and some taxidermy pieces have been used for DNA extraction of lost species. This fox likely died naturally or was a victim of a car, for example. The person who created this taxidermy fox wanted to preserve it and they put great time, effort, and talent into giving it a new life. I respect your opinion and I am not trying to change your mind, but this is my perspective.
