    Moisture meters are not really reliable, if you use a chunky soil mix, they don't detect the moisture, so you may end up overwatering. However, if you use those self-watering wicks that come out of the bottom of the pot, you can feel the humidity levels by just touching them.

    • @betsybegonia
      @betsybegonia  2 года назад +2

      Yeah, using them is kind of a mixture of getting to know the pot and how much it weighs when wet or dry and using my moisture meter if it's mix with more coco coir in it.

      It's a painting by Schiele, "Girl with Blue-Black Hair and Hat", 1911. :) Schiele is one of my favorite artists. Thank you for watching, sorry for the distraction! 😆

    When you started taking about what plants look like with root rot a light 💡 went off in my head!! That’s exactly what’s been going on with my Monstera 😱
    I took it out today and I’m praying I can save it. Thank you again

      Nothing. There was weird chunky growth like cauliflower at the base so I've quarantined it and I'm treating it with sulfur once a week just in case.

    • @sarahjadeee
      @sarahjadeee 2 года назад

      I get those cauliflower growths when I water propagate, haven't noticed any side affects and the cuttings seem to be surviving fine even after potting up from water prop

    That’s not true you can buy grow lights and have any plant in your home. Walmart has big leaf lights that are like $9 and they work amazing
