Just have my Hoya publicalyx 8 month ago,And boy it give me beautiful 6 flowers today I just can't stop staring their so pretty..just put your Hoya in the sun they loves it.
My Mom had a Hoya for YEARS. It was always there when I was a child. She said it was from a cutting she got from one that was in our dentist's office. That was in the 60's. She recently passed away and when cleaning out her house, I snagged the Hoya. I can only remember it blooming once in the 60+ years she had it. She even took a picture at the time it bloomed, and had put that snapshot in the leaves. Knowing Mom, she was trying to let the plant know that this was what it was supposed to do! I have had it in my home for about 6 weeks now. I am hoping to get some blooms someday. I think it might be in a pot that is a bit too large, but the pot was painted by 2 of her great-grandsons and I don't have the heart to repot it yet. Maybe I am afraid I will kill it if I do!
My mum has a Carnosa that my aunt gave her as a cutting. We realised recently that she's had it over 30 years. It sits in a very shaded kitchen window but flowers constantly.
I really enjoyed your video. I am new at hoya collecting which I stumbled on accidently. I am enjoying watching the little leaves grow to a bigger plant. I have only had 2 bloom. They were obscura which dropped off so soon & pubicalyx (red) is still in bloom for 2 weeks now & has 5 peduncles. The 5 hoyas you spoke of are in my wishlist & I hope to get soon. My problem is that no one ships to The Bahamas so I will have to arrange for collection in the USA. Thanks again & enjoy🥰🌱
Hi Knot dude. When my grandmother passed away in 1989, I was blessed to inherit her hoya carnosa which at the time was growing in a southern light on her dining room table, very compact. I brought it home & placed in my south east plant room window &with in just a few weeks it was putting out lots of new growth & to my amazement it started to put out several blooms which were so beautiful & fragrant! At that time I knew nothing about Hoyas. It started to vine up into my window blinds which at the time, was fine. But then we moved and I got worried, because in order to move to new home, I had to cut it back alot as it had grown up & intertwined itself through the blinds. It survived the cuts and the move. I have estimated its age at approx 60 yes. It continues to flourish & bloom in a northeast window. Flowers are pink and fragrant. I took two cuttings yesterday so that I could propagate it for new plants. Thank you for all the information you provide on your you tube videos! I didn't know there were so many varieties. I am looking forward to finding out where I can find some of these. I also have a compacta which got to be about 10 feet long, in a northern window & because of neglect on my part, I lost it, however I did take a cutting at last min. and is now thriving and blooming in a north window! I am definitely a plant nerd.
Oh John, thank you so much for your comment. So glad to hear your heirloom carnosa survived and is thriving! My hoyas find their way through my blinds too. Afew grew a leaf and I also was unable to untangle it and had to cut it off. Trimming is good through. Promotes more videos growing! Thanks for watching my video!
Whatever you have to cut makes great cuttings and plants will start from it in two weeks. Each plant propagates better and stronger plants. Dont be afraid to trim off the old stuff that is no longer producing blooms because they never will. Lose the non flower producing growth and your plant will love you. Buy some LED grow lights for your hoyas and you will be amazed. I use 4 cloning strips and leave them on all day for about 16 hours. Hoyas love intense light
Ok, I know nothing about making videos or editing but that setup you have with the camera you talk to, then one that does close-ups of your parts (lol), then another at the side for plant 'genitalia' close-ups seems like a lot more of a professional setup than I've ever seen on RUclips. Congrats!
In my opinion, it doesn’t matter to me when you post cuz I’ll always be here until you decide to fold your channel. I’m just glad you post at all cuz you’re such a pleasure to watch. Thanks Adam for posting~🌿🌿🌿 always a pleasure to watch.
I have a Rebecca in water. It's put out several peduncles while rooting! But then again she's been rooting for long enough to consider being grown hydroponic 😬
I can so relate to it "feeling like a job" statement. I love doing mixed media art, scrapbooking, jewelry making, etc and I foolishly allowed someone to convince me to start selling my work. Let me tell you....I "F"ing hated it. It drained me. Don't get me wrong, the money I made was good but it sucked the life out of me and took me well over 9+ months after I decided to stop selling...to get back into it just for the joy it brought me to create things! You do you Adam! True followers will be here.
Thank you for your video! I'm glad I've found someone that lives in a desert & is able to grow Hoyas successfully. Growing up in Mexico where the weather makes anything grow, my grandmother had a beautiful hoya, but never knew the name. I live now in Reno, Nevada & I want to give it a try to see if they'll grow & bloom here & your video has been a great help. 👍
Beautiful plants! Please feel free to send me any cuttings you don’t want.😂 I absolutely am in love with Hoyas. I’ll be online looking for these tonight. Thank you, thoroughly enjoyed the video
So I am in Arizona too, and the only hoya I have that has ever flowered for me is my bella, and it is prolific!! I love it!! I also have a pubicalyx that has two peduncles but they haven't bloomed yet. It's the purple royal hawaiian. I have a burtonaie and now I'm so excited to see it bloom eventually! I've only had it a year, so I probably have a while to wait still. But now I want to get the others you mentioned. I have been eying the sunrise for a while, so now I want it even more.
Someone gave me a bunch of propogations of the hoya Bella a couple months ago. I potted them up and fertilize here and there and boom, I just looked today and there is one little podunkle (or wtvr it's cslled-sorry I'm new ) ... I'm so excited about it. Guess I'm doing something right. I am supper surprised tho be said I thought it would be a couple years before I ever saw this..... Is this normal ???
I’m excited about having a Hoya in my home. I live in south Florida in a condo. My terrace is filled with beautiful plants. Will a Hoya do well in my climate?
Glad to see you back up on the big screen (AppleTV for me). I noticed some are in soil and some in LECA. I guess it doesn't matter what medium you use, as long as it gets the right lighting? And the "thwomp" of the whiskey stopper was so satisfying.
I enjoyed your episode😌🙏💖I definitely want a lacunosa😍especially for its' fragrance. I have a hoya davidcummingii. That flowers a whole lot! It's got a caramel-butter fragrance that drifts around the room, But!☝️you can't smell it if you put your nose to the flowers. You have to dip your finger into the nectar and then you smell your fingers and get that 'caramel-butter' fragrance😌🙏💖
I love your videos and always make sure I have some snacks ready to go when I see you pop up in the sub box. I think the reason why the content is so good is because it's not forced and you probably not make a video until you have something to say... A true King
I just bought a Hoya Parasitica, a starter plant, my last buy for 2020 but when I received it from the mail and checked the root system, there is a cloth/mesh wrapped around the root ball and I actually dont see numerous roots, im not sure if I should remove the mesh right away. Please help😥

I only have 3 Hoyas and this got me to thinking, where is my 3rd Hoya. Oh crap it's still outside. We got our first snow last night. I brought in the last of my houseplants yesterday afternoon as we were going to go below 30. I forgot my poor hoya. I feel terrible. It is now under 4" of snow.

I just started collecting Hoyas and happened to have 4/5 of the ones on this list (don’t have Rebecca yet). Hopefully a bloom is in the future. My krinkle8 is doing nothing though. Still waiting on a new leaf.
I love plants and am addicted to Hoya but the alcohol is triggering. I wonder why so many content creators think their video is more interesting with alcohol? OR is it something you’re using as a lubricant for talking on the video?
Is it mostly the solid or dark leaved ones that flower heavily? What exposure are they in? Are the thick leaved Hoyas best for tolerating a South exposure. I'm in Central Illinois with 2 huge south windows and I don't care for cactus, so need suggestions. Haven't seen your podcast for a while.......
It is so nice to see you and your gorgeous hoyas again! I always enjoy learning from you and really enjoy your content. Thank you for another fun informative video :)

I up potted it then noticed it had 5 peduncles. I may or may not be seeing flowers for a bit. One of my Pachyclada is about to flower. These re my first peduncles and flowers ever in over two years.
I give my hoya north sun here in Australia in my windows by hanging them. Have had hoya for a long time and never got them to bloom and boom! Once I moved them to more intense sun and I have now got constant flows. Sooooo goood! Now to fix my chinese money plant. I just can't get it right. But for your hoya, they basically need chunky orchid mix, seaweed emulsion severely diluted in their water, and basically full sun. Rinse them out once every two months to flush out the excess seaweed emulsion and there you go.

i have the Sunrise, growing rapidly, the Lacunosa, the the Crinkle Eight, the Rebecca and Obovata. The Obovata bloomed first , then the Rebecca which is still going and smells lovely, like Gardenia. Hope the others do too. Oh yes, and I live in the desert, 20% humidity and ready to cut back on the humidifiers as they’re wearing me out and I already killed off all the ones that had to have higher humidity.
when i first saw the Hoya trend , i decided i will get only one because i have lots of other plants , but i got addicted and now i have over 20 plant hoyas , and i think it will not end there
I have a burtonae that flowers all the time as well. It was my first Hoya I got to flower! I've found they smell more in the morning and at night. Nice to see you back again 😊❤️
Just started trying to grow hoya. (My first lesson, don't try to start a cutting in Michigan winter) my husband collects whiskey. He has a collection of Isla whiskey more than 30 years old) also, what video editing program do you use? Tia
Do you grow any of your Hoya outside on my covered patioI live in Az and have a black margin and a Australis. It’s getting hot out there but I’m nervous about leaving them outside and bringing them inside. How hot is too hot?
I do not grow any outside bc I am too afraid of that. If you wanna test it out I'd keep something out there you can replace easily! Keep me updated I'd love to hear how it goes over the summer!
How long does it take for a peduncle to go from teensy tiny nothingness to an actual bloom? My Bella cutting pushed out a peduncle instead of darn roots...!

Could I bring my hoya outside under the sunrise? Maybe they will be stronger? Thanks
I took notes and went to Etsy and put some in my cart. I’ll be adding some next month b
The hanger your krinkle 8 is in--dreamy :)
Nice video excellent keep the apple juice going brother blends with the video cheerios
Love the video. I rewatched to get the lighting info. I'd like to try these if I can find them. Thanks.
Ur the coolest person and make me feel so relaxed. Love your collection and your space. Have a great weekend Adam!
That’s exactly how I am with my you tube channel!
i have the Sunrise, growing rapidly, the Lacunosa, the the Crinkle Eight, the Rebecca and Obovata.
It's definitely a lot to manage sometimes so I'm happy my Hoya do well without them!
when i first saw the Hoya trend , i decided i will get only one because i have lots of other plants , but i got addicted and now i have over 20 plant hoyas , and i think it will not end there
I love your channel!! I think you should travel to Massachusetts!!
I like your Hoya I have some Hoya but I don’t have Hoya sunrise
Whiskey and plants. ❤
One of your Hoya has a metal support, where did you get it, it's super nice?
I have a burtonae that flowers all the time as well. It was my first Hoya I got to flower! I've found they smell more in the morning and at night.
Nice to see you back again 😊❤️
Just started trying to grow hoya. (My first lesson, don't try to start a cutting in Michigan winter) my husband collects whiskey. He has a collection of Isla whiskey more than 30 years old) also, what video editing program do you use? Tia
I use premier pro by Adobe!
My hoya multiflora never stops flowering
Do you grow any of your Hoya outside on my covered patioI live in Az and have a black margin and a Australis. It’s getting hot out there but I’m nervous about leaving them outside and bringing them inside. How hot is too hot?
I do not grow any outside bc I am too afraid of that. If you wanna test it out I'd keep something out there you can replace easily! Keep me updated I'd love to hear how it goes over the summer!
How long does it take for a peduncle to go from teensy tiny nothingness to an actual bloom? My Bella cutting pushed out a peduncle instead of darn roots...!
I was told that when they bloom they won't grow much until after the blooming.... Maybe that's why you get no nodes or roots?
