What a collection😁🙌💖You must spend hours with your plants? The sunrise is my favourite. I have sunrise in every room. The color of those leaves and the Gardenia smelling flowers even make visitors want to know about it. I enjoyed watching🙏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I fell in love with Mr. Tent so searched for and found one! Thanks so much for showing your lacunosa collection. I wouldn't have known this beauty existed without you!
Hi Adam, so happy to see you! I love your collection, just beautiful. I am now a Hoya Head, and I am just a bit OBSESSED with them. Hope we see you again soon and happy growing!!
I can easily watch two hours of your videos. It’s funny because today I received two 8” pot of a regular H.lacunosa with many paduncle and a huge 8” H.Chelsea. Watching your videos and receiving my Hoyas today made my day.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise! I just inherited a hoya, labeled "lacunosa", and wanted to identify it. It has tiny, dark green, round leaves.
I was looking for permission to collect some more varieties of lacunosa. I certainly found what I was looking for! Your collection is amazing. I want to add some pronounced veiny leaves and different leaf shapes to my lacunosa, krohniana black and krohniana silver. Thanks!
My hoya carnosa finally bloomed after years. I know it's a basic one, but I had given up on it ever blooming, and it must have sensed that and then bloomed!
Yay! So glad to see a vid! Where’s the bourbon?! 😁 The only one I have currently is the silver splash. It is also the only Hoya of mine that has bloomed to date.
I have one lacunosa. It was a gift from a lovely ebay seller. Which was amazing of her. Its doing so well I hqve had a few forms of cheese fruit. I love the freeze dried stuff. But has it in mochi this very week and it smelt like petrol but off petrol best way I can decide it. Great vid and want to see more too
Great vid. I have the lacunosa royal flush and snow caps. I believe they are different as my royal flush comes in with purple coloring and my snow caps doesn’t at all. More silver splashing, but new growth is just green. Mr. Tent is lovely,.. need to look that one up. 🪴💚🪴💚
“ Just give it a try, but don’t spend a lot of money on it”. Words to live by 🤣🤣🤣 . Loved this video, Adam I don’t currently have any lacunosa but I’m keeping an eye out. 🪴🪴🪴
I laughed so hard when you talked about the fruit durian. I love durian. My childhood fruit favorite. 😂 I’m glad you tasted it. You have beautiful Hoya Lacunosa collection. I only have seven in my collection as of now. I do have the durian Lacunosa. 😂
Good heavens . I had no idea there were so many varieties of Lacanosa. Mine just says Hoya Lacanosa. Leaves are just green no splash. It is Beautiful. I did a plant trady with Kellies Hoyas and bless her heart she was going to send me 5 cuttings and sent 12. So dang excited. I am in the process of getting them all rooted and into soil. So I am far from a hoya head but I think I have about 25 different ones now. I love how they are impressive even when small and can be tucked in just about anywhere.
Durian is sooooo good, especially when you make a smoothie out of it, the creaminess and sweetness from it is so different. But hey you either love it or hate it. Hopefully you get to try some deserts made of durian, it's probably not as strong in flavour and smell so maybe it would be easier to tolerate xD Edit: I just had a tiny cutting of lacunosa, I'm super excited and can't wait for it to grow as lush as yours!!!
as an Indonesian, durian is one of my fav fruit hahaha, but yeah, ure right, there are only 2 types of people, they loveee it or hate it so much. But again, we have to choose the right one, some taste awful hahah. And i just wanna say ur lacunosa collection are so cool!!! it made me realize there are lacunosa variants tht really are different cos so far i only came by lacunosas tht has different silver patterns or "fullness", AND I DO WANT TO SIT THROUGH AN HOUR LONG VIDEO. cf stands for confer in taxonomy, if im not mistaken its compared to something similar
Would love a longer video, sometimes just to play in the background while doing chores. Some of my favs I repeatedly watch are the long houseplant tours done by Summer.
Man you really did save the best one for last. First Betsy, now you. I really wish Miro would do a lacunosa "haul" too. Then, the trio would be complete. I'm going lacunosa crazy and my list just got longer. Thanks for this videp, Adam. ❤️🙏
Hi, Adam. You make lacunosa sound very appealing, particularly the scent. Can you suggest where I might get a l. pallidiflora plant or cutting to grow in an East window? I'm in Toronto, if that's relevant.
Love all the variety of Lacunosa! You mentioned using a microscope to examine for mites…would you consider doing a video showing the equipment you use and how to do it? Would love to see your method!
Betsy Begonia did a video on mites. She didnt show how she used her microscope (for the record we have the same one because I asked her a while ago) but her video is super informative!
there's definitely a khroniana "black leaves" and lacunosa "black leaves" that are distinctly different plants as i have both and could tell them apart easily. same with khroniana "super silver" vs lacunosa "Louisa's Silver". should post photos somewhere eventually....
Wow! Awesome video and collection, Adam! 💕🥳🙌 I only have two lacunosa types: H. ‘Sunrise’ and the subjective H. krohniana. I found the blooms size on the ‘Sunrise’ an itsy bit larger than the ones on my H. krohniana, but the krohniana’s blooms’ fragrance was a lot stronger.
If you trim a Hoya and cut off the puduncles will they grow more so they can flower? I trimmed my grandmothers plant and it doesn’t flower any more. My plant is at least 50 yrs old. Love your collection
Hoya will grow more peduncles but I would highly recommend not trimming the long leafless vines or peduncles off. Vines tend to grow leaves once they feel supported and lots of times peduncles form on these vines or toward the end of them.
Love your video’s and your collection. Are you growing your Lacunosa’s in PON? To date I have about six Lacunosa’s that I am thinking of putting in Pon. I happen to have the same pots and was wondering if yours are in Pon, do you keep water in the reservoir or just flush the Pon when needed.? Hoping to see more videos.
Do you use a wick with you Pon or just flush with water and dry out? You should do a video of how you plant and water you Hoya in Pon. Thanks in advance for replying and all the great videos. ❤️
@@maryannmahlmeister524 some of my self watering pots ( the small ones like what the poonsak was in) do not have room for wicks but everything else does have a wick, PON and LECA.
I just start collecting HOYA. MY lacunosa has the peduncles I never see the hoya blooms, and look forward to seeing the flowers, but sadly the bud all fell off. 😂
I have one lacunosa was just sold as lacunosa and I have no idea what it is. Your collection is beautiful! What are the small round planters with ridges that you use? They’re perfect for Hoyas!
I have just one "lacunosa" hoya. No idea which specific variety it's meant to be, but it has small dark green pointed leaves. I got it as a generous rooted cutting. It's grown one new vine, but ho peduncles or blooms yet.
hey Adam, your last Lacunosa looks so much like a Parasitica Black Margin, so i'm curious if that's what it's X with. Your leaves are smaller than my Parasitica so could be a possibility. Anyways enjoyed your collection, thanks for sharing.
Wow, quite the lacunosa collection. So pretty! I would sit through an hour video lol. OH man Durian kinda taste like baby poop haha. I don’t know what baby poop taste likes, but that’s what I think. I’ve had durian a few times, and I just can’t get over the smelly-ness of the fruit. My friends love it, but nope not me :P
I got a small (very small) cutting of a Lacunosa snow caps. It put out a few new leaves, then everything turned yellow. :( Too much water? It’s in a 2” plastic pot so, given how small it is, I was watering it once every 6-7 days. Too much light? It’s next to an AeroGarden with a grow light. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
My mom & I had to sneak around whenever we had durian 😆 My sister hated the smell so much! Won’t even let us eat it in her house 🇵🇭🇵🇭 Once I ordered a durian smoothie & when the blender turned on, it stunk up the food court, which was kind of embarrassing 🙈 Also! i love durian! there are a lot of varieties and some are better than others (like hoyas!). before you completely write it off, i’d encourage you to try durian chips. if you don’t like those, then okay, maybe they’re not for you lolol.
OMG is Mr. Tent single? LOL Ugh and "black leaves." *faints* And nope for Durian lol if it doesn't smell good, there's a chance I won't try it. Lastly, I only have 3 Hoyas: Krimson Princess, Pubicalyx Splash, and Wayetii. The Wayetii was gifted and the other two I bought in store. I have no clue why I don't have more of them!!
Frozen Durian fruit in a smoothie with some raspberries and pineapple tastes just like fruit loops/ juicy fruit gum! Im not even kidding. Its delicious! Also, I have a Hoya Lacunosa New Jabra Ghost that looks just like your Hoya Lacunosa Louise. Since I have found very little information on the new Jabra Ghost I am wondering if they are the same? Great video! Thank you so much ✌️💖☺️
There are so many names given to hoya that are just seemingly made up hahah. I am guessing yours may be the same as louisa's silver, but I cant say that for sure. Also, I may need to give other durian treats a try before I say I hate it lol
Durian is indeed polarising🤣 I think it is slightly unfair for durian because it has a horrible shelf life. It should be best consumed within 24 hours.
