2024 Colorado zr2 here, just installed the wind booster and it’s freakin awesome. I was skeptical with all these rave reviews in the comments, but the thing works. Honestly it feels like how the truck should have shipped
Went with the Pedal Commander on my ‘18 Z71 diesel and it worked wonders for the dead pedal. Best part is that these throttle controllers are not detectable by the dealer and do not void the warranty like a tune. I also wouldn’t advise changing settings while driving because this can throw codes for throttle position.
HOLY SH*T!... Upgraded to a cold air induction intake, changed out a soler 76mm throttle body, and installed this wind boost... I haven't felt this kind of power since my 91 Z28 Camaro.
I have a 2017 Colorado and always dislike it's lag like throttle response, thanks for the tip. This channel has helped me out a good bit since it got the truck.

Not only does it have a range of settings in different categories, but it can make it so my accelerator works properly, if you’re not careful it turns the Colorado into a race car. In the Sport 8 mode (not even sport +) I got to 50 in about 3 seconds. Speed limit 55. It also affects the volume and sound of the exhaust. I’m really enjoying this. Thank you so very much for the video and recommendation. **** Just an FYI, for anyone buying one. DO NOT install it with your truck running. It will temporarily mess up your engine power. Be smart. Cruising on 993......lol I just picked up my 2022 Colorado Z71 from Riverview Chevrolet lookin forward to doin some mods. I can't stand the Lag in the throttle, Thanks for the Info. Brian from McKeesport, Pa just down the road.
That’s awesome! Not far at all! This is one of the most important mods in my opinion. The throttle lag in this truck is some of the worst I’ve ever experienced in any car.
I've only had my 2021 Z71 for about 2 months and I've definitely noticed this pulling out of my drive on the uphill slope of my road. I'll pull out and push down and in about a split second I suddenly get a burst of RPMs that go up to about 3k-3.5k range and then the throttling smooths out rapidly after that and the gears start shifting. It doesn't happen every time but it's that odd split second from pushing down a decent amount on the gas and then the sudden unexpected burst of power. My 2021 has about 45k on it, one previous owner who drove mostly highway miles on it over the past 2 years. Otherwise the thing is in great shape and I'm loving it (this is my first 4x4 truck coming from owning a series of sedans over the years). I'm seriously considering removing that horrible air dam though. I think about it a lot late at night lol.
I have a 2016 and put premium gas in it cause that’s all they had and I was on E. And I tell you what there’s no throttle lag 🤷🏾♂️. I only put a little under a half tank and it’s doing good. I may put regular back in with some octane booster…

Also thanks a bunch for all your other vids. I bought the license plate bezel, leveling kit, script grille, and black fog light housings after watching your vids. Also had air dam removed. This is definitely a good replacement for a tune as far as the throttle sensitivity is concerned but I'm still looking at possibly getting a tune later down the line for added power, etc. As of right now I can tell you without a doubt, this is definitely needed!
I have a Soler 72/76 TB on my 17 along with Trifecta, cai, cat back. Great improvement in part throttle drivability. I had a intermittent hesitation when doing a rolling stop, that is totally eliminated. It was great from the time I bolted it on but even better after 500 miles. Worth the $$$.

Thanks for the video! Two questions: Do you have to have the app running and phone connected at all times? If you set it at your desired level but don't have your phone will it still operate as before? Have you noticed any difference in gas mileage since installing the Windbooster? Thanks again!
You're quite welcome! You do not have to keep the phone connected, it will remember your last setting which is how I leave it. I never noticed any difference in gas milage.
Yeah, so Hey. I have been checking out your vids on tho Colorado, I have a 2021 I got last year, I got the cold air intake because of you, and I have been really looking into the pedal “enhancing” products. Now that it has been about a year since the windBooster vid, I was just wondering if you still like it, or what. Sorry if I’m being weird, but I’m just wondering. Thanks
I totally understand. I used that throttle controller right up until I sold the truck and it was working absolutely perfectly and I would highly recommend it still.
Quick question. If you leave or phone at home to run to the store or your wife drives your truck, does it still stay in sport number six?. Great channel.
I’m deleted and tuned on my 19 ZR2 Duramax. Still not happy with my throttle response. Will this mess up my engine and trans tune or JUST adjust the throttle sensitivity?
That’s not the answer I know he had a car Dino Dan tune no improvement there’s a governor somewhere please investigate for all of us we all have the same issue
Are you still using this? What are if any the pros and cons. I know a pro is better pedal response with no lag, any cons? What are your thoughts this or the Banks pedal monster? Thanks
I've used a bunch of different throttle controllers and they were all more or less the same. The features are all that really seems to separate them. This one was cheap and got the job done well. I still recommend this one over any of the other ones out there.
Say you left your phone in the house and went for a drive would it just default back to factory programming? I'm trying to order one of these online with the link in the description it's currently not letting me add my address for some reason.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thank you sir that was another question I was going to ask if you had any trouble with it obviously not good to hear thanks again!!
For Anyone with the two thousand fifteen or sixteen. Mine did the same thing and it struggled to go up hill and when? It. Did? It would sky rocket rpms and I had a very dead pedal. Like a lag. In 2018 they updated ecu a transmission for my 15 and the 16s It's on the chevy bulletin. They updated my codes and problem was solved!!!! Hope it helps
Great video! I have a 2015 Chevy Colorado z71 and I know exactly what throttle lag you're talking about. Would you know if it help/affects the MPG in the truck at all?
Every Colorado has the lag in the throttle. The easiest way to see it is to get a device like this and turn it on and turn it up. You'll see the difference immediately. It didn't affect my MPG at all.
I bought this about 2-3 months ago. Worked great until about 2 weeks ago, now its not working at all. I don't drive my Z71 every day, I have a work van, so I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue. I tried disconnecting then reconnecting it, no dice. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
Justin First off, amazing video and content as always. Interested in this item. I have a 2022 Canyon, have you heard any chatter about those vehicles having this issue. I notice when i step into my throttle it doesn't feel as responsive as my 1500 Sierra did. Thoughts. Thanks
I just drove mine hard.. a few months in, it puts you back in your seat with little to no pedal pressure.. when I first got it a year ago I was looking into all these things but never got around to getting one…
Great writeup but $200 is steep for what this does IMO. I have the 2.8L Duramax and I'd much rather put $200 towards a carb approved tune that gets me 52 more hp and 94 ftbls more torque and also resolves the throttle issue. I find that after driving my truck for for a while my foot is now sensitive enough to automatically modulate the throttle to mitigate this issue. Basically I do the same thing with my foot. A tune on the other hand will fix in a different and better way and with a lot more power and drivability. I can't speak to the V6 gasser. Perhaps it's good alternative for it. If you've got a Duramax checkout Duramax Tuner 50 state legal tune.
I think they did that on purpose bc the pedal is so light and it’s easy to over gas it when you’re wearing heavy boots without that travel but that’s just my hunch
we are picking up a 2022 colorado redline edition this coming thursday june 30th, 2wd, v6, will this throttle module work on it ?? it should,, i like your threshold , carbon , red colorado protectors too
Great info, experiencing the lag on my brand new Colorado 2,000 miles. ? is, If this is a problem, GM needs to take care of this, Why are we Colorado owners letting them get away this problem, especially if this is the solution with the Windbooster, if let go is it possible to cause transmission damage?

Do you have a link for steering wheel black bow tie?
Yes I sure do. You can get it here: amzn.to/491UwMD
Thank you. Yes, it is locked into that mode until you change it regardless of where your phone is.
Thanks I’m definitely order one for my 2018 Z71
You're welcome! I highly recommend it!
@@HorsePowerObsessed order placed can’t wait to try it out. Thanks again for the recommendation
You're quite welcome!
I just got mine today watching this video again.
Wow what a major difference you can actually feel the response. Thank you so much for this recommendation.
I want that phone holder for my truck, do you have the link for it?
How is you truck doing with this? Can you give an update? Any problems? I'm wondering if I should do this or just go get a tune
100% fine. It drives like it should have from the factory!
I’m deleted and tuned on my 19 ZR2 Duramax. Still not happy with my throttle response. Will this mess up my engine and trans tune or JUST adjust the throttle sensitivity?
Not at all. You're good to grab one.
I would like to order one but it doesnt come to canada. I also have a 19 colorado zr2. Love to try it
I have an 18 ZR one can’t bring it over 100 miles an hour there’s throttle anything to work over that work around that
A tune is the only thing to fix that, unfortunately.
That’s not the answer I know he had a car Dino Dan tune no improvement there’s a governor somewhere please investigate for all of us we all have the same issue
The governor can be removed via a tune and a tune only. When you get the tune you have to specifically ask for that to be removed in most cases.
Justin you should get one of these for the c5 and review it!
What phone holder do you have? I can’t find a good one for my Colorado.
It's the proclip but it was before a redesign they did where they moved it up by the vent now.
Say you left your phone in the house and went for a drive would it just default back to factory programming? I'm trying to order one of these online with the link in the description it's currently not letting me add my address for some reason.
No. It stays in the mode you last left it in. I never connect my phone anymore to it because I never need to change it.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thank you sir that was another question I was going to ask if you had any trouble with it obviously not good to hear thanks again!!
Will this put more strain on ur trans? I got the 2.5l shes a dog
I don’t see why it would. I haven’t had any issues.
Love your vids. Do you still wind booster still connected on your truck? How long did it take for you to receive it?
It took around a week for me to get mine. I used mine for about a year before I sold the truck.
@@HorsePowerObsessed so is it worth getting it?
@HorsePowerObsessed
Will this work with the Duramax as well or just the V6? And if it does, is it same WindBooster model or different one? Thank you
Yes it will work!
@@HorsePowerObsessed Grrrreat! Thank you! The diesel is lazy as it is, and the dead pedal won't help of course. I will give this a try!
For Anyone with the two thousand fifteen or sixteen. Mine did the same thing and it struggled to go up hill and when? It. Did? It would sky rocket rpms and I had a very dead pedal. Like a lag. In 2018 they updated ecu a transmission for my 15 and the 16s
It's on the chevy bulletin. They updated my codes and problem was solved!!!! Hope it helps
My 16 ATSV Sedan lag was fixed with a tune.Had massive lag under 3k.
Yup. Really only 2 ways of fixing it.
I’ve heard a few people having an issue what you’re gonna wanna do is contact wind booster and they’ve been sending out replacements.
Great video! What phone mount are you using? I liked how it was off to the side like that.
That is the original proclip design. Unfortunately, they changed it shortly after I got it.
Justin
First off, amazing video and content as always. Interested in this item. I have a 2022 Canyon, have you heard any chatter about those vehicles having this issue. I notice when i step into my throttle it doesn't feel as responsive as my 1500 Sierra did. Thoughts. Thanks
Thank you! That response issue you have is exactly what this will fix.
Have a link for the one you recommend?
What is the cost
I think they did that on purpose bc the pedal is so light and it’s easy to over gas it when you’re wearing heavy boots without that travel but that’s just my hunch
Do you have a video with the link to that pro clip and how it’s mounted?
So many different kinds.
Nice truck! I have a 2019 Z71. What phone holder are you using?
It's made by proclip but they changed the design shortly after I bought this one.
This might be a silly question, but do you need to have the app running for this to operate?
No you don't.
we are picking up a 2022 colorado redline edition this coming thursday june 30th, 2wd, v6, will this throttle module work on it ?? it should,, i like your threshold , carbon , red colorado protectors too
Yes it definitely will! You’re gonna love the truck!
@@HorsePowerObsessed I love my 2016 Silverado 1500 z71 off road, but it's getting kinda long in the tooth,
in Economy mode will this add to your fuel mileage on long trips?
Yes, the easier you are on the pedal, the better your gas mileage will be and this forces you to be easy on the pedal.
Not likely to cause transmission damage. Very likely put there on purpose to help with gas mileage.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks much for responding, Great info you provide
Seems like with these gas prices a little lag helps though. When I need to move though I slam it and it moves.
Exactly.
What model is this? It’s not the same as your 2018 red one right?
It's the same for either truck.
would this void a warranty?
No it would not.
@@HorsePowerObsessed very cool! Thanks
Just purchased.
I need this for 2021 GMC Canyon..
Yes you do. These trucks need this pretty bad.
@@HorsePowerObsessed my truck feels so underpowered with the throttle lag
Yup. This really helps.
What phone holder do you recommend? And is this the PC07 module?
Proclip phone mount is the best one I've tested.
Amazing Justin! Wondering when possible you could give a mpg difference? If there's not much of a feel i will definitely get this for mine.
I haven't noticed any loss yet, will definitely keep you updated.
What company did you use for your Bed liner or is it from the factory?
It’s factory.
my 2016 silverado 1500 5.3 v8 has the lag,, it bugs the crap out of me
Anything you can do yourself to "delete" the 97 mph limiter??
Not without a custom tune unfortunately
Is it safe to use with a tune?
