I love this series! I had CSP and just never used it because I wasn't sure about how to go about things but your last video made me excited to try. The way you teach is really clear and concise and I hope you continue. ^_^
CSP is superb and is continuosly getting huge updates and new features. The interface is intuitive and user friendly, I believe it'll surpass Photoshop soon.
I appreciate the Clip Studio tips! I would also love to see a video on how to color by creating a color palette first. I want to pick my base color first, but then I have to color-pick the rest of the colors to go with it, which will represent the shadows & highlights. I would love some guidance on how to color-pick the colors for the shadows & highlights according to my base color, and then create swatches for each one. This way I’ll have my color palette ready before I start coloring. For example, if my character has light brown hair, I will pick a brown for the base color, but then I have to figure out the rest of the colors on the palette that will be used for the shadows & highlights. This is something I want to learn how to do better.
Great tutorial! I moved from PhotoShop Elements to CSP 4 yrs ago and realised very quickly that you couldn't store selections and so came to accept it.... Thank you so much for showing and explaining how to store selctions - that had been there probably all the time.... The other 4 features are just as cool, but selection save did it for me. 👍❤
Thank you for explaining the quick mask and selection layers, I knew these tools existed for a LOOOONG time but felt confused about how to use them properly
I just started do art digitally I do comic art and was suggested using Clip Studio and I enjoy it, learning new things everyday, I had used Photoshop years ago when it was still a CD. I find Clip Studio very affordable.
I never knew about these steps! I'll most likely be giving these steps a try, thank you for always posting new tutorials! Also, I love your hair and I love the fact that you have a webtoon now! Gonna be reading it for sure!
Another excellent tutorial thank you very much I would advise you put them all in a single playlist call Clip studio tutorial so they're easier to find thank you have a great day.
Recently got a pen display and CSP and it's definitely been a tricky transition since I'm used to Procreate. Maybe one day I'll be able to really put these tips to use! Also really glad to see you back! ^^
Thank you VERY MUCH, Your Video was very helpful, there is one thing I need help with maybe you know a tool or option that can help. I use clip studio paint (for about a month or so) and there is one thing I have been struggling with when adding shadows I like to break down my characters shadow zones into different layers based on shape like having the head on a seperate layer to the neck since the head is spherical and the neck is cylindrical. After I make the new layer for each shadow, I isolate the head from the neck and the background using the lock transparent pixel option, so I can use the very edge of an oversized soft brush to give the neck or head a round look and it works GREAT! The problem is that if there is even the SLIGHTEST overlap where the head and neck meet the Multiply layer makes a DARK zone that is almost unavoidable. Even with much time spent cleaning it up the is always a few pixels left and the only way to get rid of the is to merge the layers later and try to blend them away without ruining the shadow separation. Is there a way maybe using the lasso tool to cut/isolate a portion of your drawing and move it to a layer above or below while leaving the rest of the image behind as well as leaving vacancy in the old layer from what you removed (so the is no darkness added by the multiply effect, without what you cut shifting around so it lines up pixel perfect, so you can color it or merge it later on without any overlap?
I love your CSP videos! I’ve been using the program since 2019 and I keep learning new things about its features. I strongly prefer it over Photoshop, mainly because my school paid for our Adobe subscriptions when I was in college and now that it’s expired, I don’t exactly want to pay over $300 for a year! CSP is also much more fun to use in my opinion
Hey Nadia ! Thanks a lot for those tips ! I knew about some of them (mainly the last ones) but didn't know about the type of layers ! I'd love to see your favorite tools and brushes in Clip studio paint ! I still struggle to be confortable painting in CSP. Now, I tend to sketch, ink and do the flats in CSP (because the tools are amaaaaazing !) but then I switch on Photoshop to finish my art...
Okay so the Selection layer tip just blew my mind. Currently on Layer 63 of one of my character paintings only because I’m too afraid to merge any of the layers together.
Very helpful video! Also you should try to avoid clearing your throat since it damages your vocal cords :) instead just swallow (with water preferably)
Hullo Nadia! Wonderful video you continue to amaze and give quality tips on how to create with this program! I know many programs work in a similar manner and could be applied to them as well! I wish I had had this kind of content when I was learning editing software! Congrats on the WebToon! I am sure it will become a fan favorite too!
Very helpful video; thanks for showing the great features of this software...I love it. Do you have any tips for digital art beginners on how to add shade and light in a simple yet effective way? Or how to color in an easy way; I find coloring very intimidating. Thanks in advance and have a good weekend 😊
miss ma'am do you have any advice to any course to help understanding CSP tools, im struggling to work and understand them. ffor example clipping a layer how does it work? i personally think if someone had a break down of CSP tools and where they are and how to use them in a video it would be amazing for us beginners
I never used Auto Actions before and i might start now. same with Draft and Reference layers. But i gotta say, You can Ctrl+Click any layer thumbnail to create a selection of that layers transparency. so i see no point in making a selection/quick mask layer over just making a regular layer and using that as a selection layer. is there something i'm missing about selection layers?
I want to love CSP. I really do. But what kills it for me are the exporting features. In my line of work, I am always sent files that have me turn on and off layers on the same template and export out multiple unique images from 1 file. (Basically a template for making ID Cards). In Photoshop the process is simple as clicking the "Batch Processing" button and stepping away to drink some water. With CSP, when you have HUNDREDS of cards to export, you need to set up Auto Actions to turn on and off the layers at regular intervals, then manually export and rename everything by hand. It's a nightmare. I'm using Pro, but I'll upgrade to EX if it has something similar to Photoshop. I just need SOME PART of Clip Studio Paint to Automatically name things during the export instead of always having to ask me. If you can tell me how I will hard switch right now.
So for a beginner ex is just fine. Olso I have a question it says Export animation cels and exposure sheet not with pro. But doss this mean ik can't save animation without a background like for alerts for twitch or GIFS
Despite having CS for 2 years now I'm still learning new features of it!! Congrats on the launch of your webcomic!!!
same lol!!

I'm looking forward for more CSP tutorials from you. There are so many tools where I have no idea what I should do with them.
Auto action is really useful. It saves alot of time just naming and foldering those starting layers in advance.
ive used CSP for YEARS and this is the first video that's actually taught me some new. my dot gradient backgrounds thank you for your service
i'm rather curious about whether or not you've figured out vector layers yet?? cos they're really freakin cool and i think you'll like em :))

You explain things (extremely) well ! Much better than most tutorials I've seen.
Whoa, thank you so much 😭❤️
Thank you Sooooo much ! I realise there's so much usefull tools in CSP that i wasn't even aware of, that helps me a lot !!!
I'm super happy my video could help you >w< thank u for watching!

knowing all this stuff now makes me feel so cracked at art oml this video is a godsend also BEAUTIFUL graphics
Thank you so muuuuch 😚❤️
Ok, so a timelapse feature is GOLD
Clip studio’s blend tool is just godlike
You need to add some Neon lights for your background to make it more beautiful IMO! :)

In my personally opinion the best feature that clip studio has is that you can use photoshop brushes on it :3
NICE!
