- OMG HI GUYS 👀💦 It's been such a LOOOONG time since my last video! I'm so excited to start uploading again. I really, really hope you enjoy it. There's lots more coming in the future!
🦩 No flamingos were harmed during the recording or post-production of this video 😬
In this video, I'll guide you through the Fill Tool and its essential properties in Clip Studio Paint. This is not a sponsored video - I've made a personal decision to change from Photoshop to Clip Studio Paint, so my software in the future will be that. Although I always aim to mostly do art videos that you can watch regardless of your software.

One of the best Clip Studio tutorials I've ever seen and explains the fill tool so much better than Iv'e heard. I've been using it for a long time, but this will help immensely. I learned a bunch of new, useful stuff. Thank you, Nadia.
I'm sooooooo super happy to hear that ;___; I'm always afraid if I over/under-explain or just talk gibberish that no one can figure out XD;; So I'm very, very happy whenever someone learns something from my videos! Thank you so much for watching ^^
@@Nadiaxel - I've been watching you for a long time. Your tutorials are always great. Thank you so much for the art and education over the years.
Truly helpful ! Thank you so much, your tutorials are super clear Nadia ! ❤
I totally agree with you 👍🏻
I had absolutely no idea the fill tool in CSP was so good!! This is such a helpful tutorial, thanks Nadia!! 💖
RIGHT? My mind was blown away too when I started to dig into it XD
@@Nadiaxel a feature I really like is the models... before I had to make my pose in a different app, screen shot, transfer to drawing program and use as layer 1 and tbt its pretty tricky when you got characters placed in front the other
Clip studio should've paid you for this it was so extensive and well explained thank you so much !
Haha, you're super sweet! 😚 I've worked with them before and they're super nice - maybe I'll get to do that again in the future ^^ Thank you so much for watching 💖
Another tip when using the fill bucket tool: Hold down and drag your cursor across your line art and it will fill all the areas you drag to. Much easier than clicking 10 times on each enclosed area.
Additionally, similar to the "connected pixels only" part at 16:51 ,but with even more control: Say you only want to change half of your blue areas to red. Start your cursor in a blue area, hold and drag the fill tool over those blue areas and it will change them to red. CSP will intelligently know you only want to change that blue hue and will ignore all other colors as you drag your cursor around the page.
Ive been using CSP for 3 and a half years now and I absolutely love it. Much better than Photoshop, personally.
I had such a hard time letting go of Photoshop for some reason. But then I realized it was probably because I was just afraid to dive into something new and leave something comfortable behind. Now I'm only frustrated that I didn't go to CSP sooner 😅 It makes such a difference to work in a program that was specificly designed for artists!
Watching your video is like working a giant field with just your hands and then looking over your shoulder and suddenly seeing actual farm machinery. Not even joking this will all save me many hours of work and I wish I looked this up sooner. Thank you so much! Got a sub from me!
Amazing guide! I had no idea how people were coloring so efficiently in this program (I was basically doing it by hand), this is incredible and makes me more excited to really improve my drawing. Thank you so much for the guide!
I’ve used CSP for about 5 years now and I can’t believe how much my mind was just blown all because it never occurred to me to look at fill tool properties.
This literally just cut my coloring time in half! I feel like I should send you a free book when I print next month! Thankyou!!!!
I''m a beginner, and I spend about 20 min, now I'm master now!(this vide helps a lot to me!)
I learned so much! Thank you for the explanations! And I'm glad to see you back.
nice to see you back, take it easy and thank you 🙏
This is fantastic. I'd love to see more tutorials like this, more deep dives on the inner mysteries of specific tools.
omg thank you so much, insanely super helpful tips!

Your tutorial really helped me !! Thank you so much ! You explain very well !
Every program uses the fill tool differently and ive used four. Clip Studio is my newest and you have rescued me from SO much hassle thank y o u
This was exactly the video I needed, as always great job on explaining! Thank you Nadia :D
Great tips! I was so happy when I learned ‘area scaling’. And yes- the reference layers. Just what we needed!
Thanks so much for your videos- you inspired me to start my own drawing channel! 😊
Agreed!! When I discovered the Reference Layer my entire world turned upside-down XD And the area scaling just upped the overall quality of my coloring! Thank you so much for watching! :D
Your content is life saving! I am learning so much ♥️ thank you
Great tutorial!! I've seen this topic before but benefited more the way you simplified it. Thanks!!
Abundantly helpful, and well-edited to boot. I'm so excited to get the hang of this toolset- I think it'll be a game-changer!
Thanks so much. I ve been searching for area scaling explanation for a while !
Thank you for linking each of the chapters in the description. This makes it much easier to reference while practicing with the fill tool. 🙏 Please make more tutorials for CSP!
Awesome tutorial! And welcome back Nadia!!
This was the most entertaining, professional and helpful tutorial I have ever seen! 😊 I especially liked the part where you said "what you see, is what the fill tool sees", that was such a neat and simple way to explain it! Thank you for spending so much time on making this tutorial! ❤
Wow! I don't think I've ever sat through a more informative, smooth flowing tutorial dedicated to the usage of a single tool!
Seriously those were incredible if not game-changing tips, even for my amature works! Thanks a bunch! 😄👍
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! helped me a lot 💚💚
Your video was so helpful ❤️ thank you so much ! I knew some of these, but I didn't quite understand the other sub tool settings. I learned a lot and can now apply it to my designs 😁
Thank you for this! =)
I found tons of useful info for me about the bucket/fill tool. I sparingly use the fill tool and with all the knowledge from your video, I might actually learn to use it more often from now on.
Ahhhh this is so exciting! I'm so glad to see you back, you've just made my day
Thank you for this tutorial! I've been avoiding using the bucket. This'll help shave off some time for sure!
I love the energy and subtle humour in your videos. Thanks for doing what you do. :D

Oh wow this just helped me SO MUCH! thank you for these tips! I knew and used reference layers before but I had no idea about the antialiasing and narrow path tools. You just earned yourself a subscriber!
Thank you so much! Amazing explanation of area scaling and tolerance :D💖
I've been using CSP for a few years now and there's still so much to discover!!! Thank you! My jaw dropped at the fill in painted area! And for the all of the same color thing, I had been selecting by color gamut and like omg that speeds things up! I've been coloring with selection and markers this entire time aaaa
This is very clear. Thank you very much for making such a detailed tutorial

this was so SO helpful!! I've been struggling with using the fill tool for quite some time now, and now I understand it so much better! It helped my cut my drawing time in half now that I can do it much more efficiently. Thanks so much for making this tutorial!!
Awesome! I was just fighting with these tools but now that I understand them better, things should work out. Thanks for the tutorial!
So glad you are back! Your channel got me into digital drawing (and drawing in general, to be precise) back in 2019 and it's been such a journey for me since then. There's this whole artistic side I never explored and your tutorials were the catalyst for wanting to begin.
This last year I also transitioned out of Photoshop, but into Krita, which I'm very comfortable with. I may have to give CSP a shot if you keep up these vids :)
love you! This really helped me out!
This is by far the best tutorial video for Clip Studio I have seen yet! I always feel like I’m doing so much guesswork when I work digitally because I don’t fully understand the tools I’m using, but I have trouble finding good comprehensive tutorials. This video was exactly what I’ve always wanted, I finally feel like I can use at least one element of Clip to its full potential! Subbed and liked, hoping for many more Clip Studio tutorials like this one!
Best video tutorial I've seen about clip studio. Love it 🔥🔥
Very cool this will make my work flow so much faster and cleaner thank you!
Fantastic video! One of the best on CSP I have seen on any topic.
As someone who just started using CSP, I'm so lucky to have found your video so soon! I don't know what I'd be doing without knowing this, and you made it really easy to understand the fill tool! Thank you so much!!
You're amazing, the best explanation of these confusing tools I have seen so far! Thank you!!
This tutorial was extremely helpful and really well structured, thank you for making this!
Simply the best csp fill toll tutorial on youtube!! you got me subscribed :D
Hi Nadia. Brilliant video thank you. I have been using csp for awhile but never really fully understood those options. Love your art keep the tutorials coming
Ohh my goodness I love you!!! This is definitely game changer
i already knew mos tof these (the hard way) but clarification on a couple options and specifically hwo to use the enclose and fill and fill unpainted areas was epic!! its gonna make my colour work SO much easier
This just utterly changed my whole workflow. Thank you for the hours of headaches you have just saved future me. Excellent tutorial!
Top tier tutorial. Great teaching skills, bravo.
This was most informative. I have learn a lot about this tool that I thought I knew, but didn't. Thank you for sharing.
Great clarification!
Thnx ALLOT!!!👊
ive been using the tool for years and didn't know most of this, this is an AMAZING tutorial. thank you so so much!
Thank you so much for this!! When I first switched from SAI to CSP, the fill tool was one thing I had troubles with getting used to mainly because I didn't know what I was doing with the settings, even with the Reference Layer and such (esp with CSP not having the selection pen like SAI do). Turns out there's still a LOT I didn't know about it, especially how it could be explained with a 18 minutes video lol. Thank you so so much again for this, I'll be sure to apply these lessons into my workflow~
I've been trying to figure out how artists do that in speed paints for ages! Thank you so so much!
Thanks so much, this has been waaaaay more helpful than anything else
Thanks for helping me out about this! I haven't known the fill tool since I've had CSP until I've watched the video entirely. Thank you again! 🙏
This is game changing!
what a top quality tutorial, subscribed so fast
VERY Useful!! Thanks for the video and knowledge
This video is a masterpiece! ❤️
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! This video helped me a lot! As someone coming from Firealpaca where you use the paint bucket tool and the section you want just fills, it was nice to have a break down of CSP paint bucket tool! I will definitely be saving time, thank you so much!
The BEST csa tutorial I've seen. We'll done. I'm subbing and liking, this was extremely helpful
Fantastic tutorial!!!!!
wow, csp has been my goto for years and there's so many things on the fill tool alone I was either using wrong or didn't know about. thank you so much!
Holy crap! Thank you. I tried to understand all the settings myself but your video set me straight on a couple of things I had misunderstood. You've been a big help!
This is to sum up, the best tutorial Ive seen about this tool, dayum, now Im pumped to start filling some areas xD
