Man this course is tempting. Colosso has an overwhelming array of things I want to learn. I'm going through Marc Brunet's course right now and he also says to study from your favorite artists. I have to say that has given me such a boost to find my own short hand/style when sketching and drawing. At first I was wary of studying from others because I don't want to copy but it seems to have the opposite effect which is weird lol. Your character looks stunning great effects and it looks like you learned lots on shading! Shading/colouring is so hard for me too I've resorted to softened cell shading style. I would love to do that really crisp, highly rendered look especially on clothes and shoes!. Anyway sorry I rambled here haha!
@@glitterslits6269 Highly recommend Marc Brunet's course I bought it way back almost when it first started so price was quite different it was like one chapter at the time lol. He recently made a study guide to go with it and discord is decently active.
The greatest regret I have been doing while learning art is avoiding to COPY. Nothing bad about copying other artists the good thing about copying/studying other artists is questions arise that is mainly on the fundamental level. Questions like: 1. How to draw this muscle in this certain pose? (ANATOMY) 2. How to draw this object in a certain camera angle (PERSPECTIVE) 3. How did he/she paint this sparkling eyes or amazing hair? (COLOR & LIGHT THEORY - PAINTING) I'm sure you have to believe in yourself first and foremost as an artist but that is also a double edge sword--you deny learning from other's because we are seeing it as a weakness. By copying we believe that we can't learn anything if we copy but it really is the opposite just as you said. GODLY ARTISTS TODAY USED TO COPY/STUDY HUNDREDS OF ARTS TO BE AT THE LEVEL THEY ARE TODAY.
Anddd we have another pot of color gold! The understanding of shape language in the lighting process is amazing. The mention of the terminator is now something I'm going to be thinking about for a while. Awesome video as usual and thank you.
I wish it had more about how you used the techniques you learned instead of being a review of the course, and I love the drawing! Turned out awesome and it's very you ✨
I think it’s good that there is courses for this sort of thing. But it’s more about how to color and draw specific styles. Not really about the fundamentals, which are VERY necessary before getting into these courses.
Thank you so much for sharing. I was always wondering where to put the hard edges and where the soft blending. Now I have a guideline. Can't wait to put this new knowledge into practice.... as soon as I can physically draw again 😅 I overworked a bit and my hand responded with revenge. XD Fortunately, it is already getting better. So, hopefully just one more week of not creating.
let me summarize it for you: take gatan courses instruction: take gatan courses the secret is: take gatan courses credits: coloso ofcourse its already obvious the moment the video was sponsored by coloso itself im just saying for those expecting a big secret to be revealed is...... to take gatan courses. also skip this video if u r expecting a secret, cause this video is much more dedicated to give a "tease" on gatan courses and promote the classes.
Looking good, but tbh this style isn't my thing, i'm more specifically talking about the blurred parts, some of them looks a bit too sharp or too much But i think this could become handy for learning
I been having so many problems with that Coloso website it's almost unwatchable... How did you get trough all the errors and video's not playing on that website?
I don't recommend colosso for beginners tho. Because it's not actually cheap and you can buy a class that don't help you in the end I just felt like I got scammed. It wasn't different from RUclips video
Not really, people on RUclips only share the things that everyone already shared or are allowed to share. For example, materials or textures, there’s a few videos on RUclips that teach this, and are from 5 or 6 and more years old, and they don’t teach how to draw the textures that you need or eant to specially draw and learn to draw, and those youtubers use brushes that they don’t share or sell. So FUCK RUclips LEARNING

tracing? yeah you can trace to learn, but i would recommend to try to step outside of tracing and draw with guidelines and references so that you don’t have to be dependent on someone else’s work/image
This more like a long advertisement then a helpful video..... this is why youtube isnt that good no more... people to focused on making money rather then helping
that's the part you would buy gatan's actual course if you want to learn more, this is for promotional purpose (coloso sponsored), but I must say it is still very informative:)
All the lessons I watch regarding color gets confusing; I understand the basics, but when the info gets deeper into other aspects all I hear is noise....like the adults in Charlie Brown. I can't understand the concept no matter how many times I watch 😔
I warn anyone from taking Coloso classes. Worst viewing experience I've ever had. I bought joons course and even 20mins of watching is filled with 20times refreshing because the damn videos keep getting errors. Biggest waste of $150. Just get Schoolism or brainstorm
Lies, if you don’t install their video player of course this will happen, otherwise with their video player the video runs super good and smooth. Brainstorm and schoolshit is crap compared to coloso quality
Wow you sold this course completely. Not only does the art look gorgeous but it sounds like a fresh take on teaching this stuff.

For the floral patterns on the Kimono, did you draw your own floral pattern or did you find a free/open use pattern to layer over the drawing?
