fyi for beginners u can make practically any brush a glazing brush by lowering its opacity (and also adjusting the opacity if u want more intense Gaze). personally I like 50% opacity. also using color settings like color dodge or overlay is another option to use to glaze (depends on what you r looking to do tho)
the reason you put yellow is because in the reference, there is warm bounce light coming from the sun's light reflecting from below off the concrete. same with the "blue-ish tone" its ambient light coming from the sky, this shows up in shadows mostly and functions almost like a fill light. light and color theory, it will help you understand where the colors come from.
I love the way you described glazing. Really felt motivating to hear that stuff is unique to you on how you decide things and make your way through painting
omg as i’ve slowly improved, i’ve been doing this a little bit but didn’t consciously know what i was doing or why it looked good??? but GLAZE ugh chefs kiss 👩🏽🍳💋
Alright that's one of the best tutorial video for digital art, really enjoyed the video and learnt something to improve at ,and got a little inspired too for my next video :)
I watched this despite nailing lava scenes and sunset scenes and blue lit scenes with the typical color picking technique, but god this technique is gonna make it so much better. Thanks!
Not even challenged but disabled as an artist who gave up years ago, I stayed for the editing and humor. I may have learned something but probably won't ever use it. But yes, 10/10.
this helped me sm thank you!! 😭💕💕 is it possible to have a tutorial or mini tutorial on how you did the lighting / blur in the hair? i struggle with that especially on procreate but it adds that extra chefs kiss of idk like realism?? also just all the little details in the bg you can spot even with the blur is so good!!
Thank you so much! I've been searching for a tutorial for so long that isn't just "Five tips to improve your coloring!" As an autistically challenged person, I find detailed explanations much better than simply telling me what to do. You're a life saver! :D And yes, I totally agree with the whole bullying yourself into submission thing. IT WORKS
Love you video, the jokes memes, commenting and the editing makes it good plus the amazing drawing makes it perfect. My first video seeing you and already made me to want to subscribe and see more ^^
I just subscribed. I didn’t know you use an airbrush to blend…it.looks so much better than the Gaussian blur😭 these videos help a lot, tyy. Hope to see more videos soon. Also does anyone have any more tips for finding my art style??😢 ty
Nice video! I appreciate you sharing your method of coloring (which looks very nice btw!) but I want to point out that glazing actually refers to coloring on top of a grayscale drawing using blending modes. You essentially determine your values in grayscale first and use an overlay/color/multiply blending layer on top to color your drawing. But the term glazing also makes sense in the way you’re using it as well. Not trying to hate on the video or anything, I just wanted to point it out in case anyone was confused.
Oh wow I'm early I am not sure if ur gonna see this but I just wanna tell u that I have been following u since u were at 2.4k it's unbelievable how far u have come keep up the good work and all wishes for ur art journey thank u for ur amazing videos
@@tazakartwoah I want to tell u that I really look up to u as a great artist and insanely funny teacher please don't stop spreading art knowledge for the noobs lol
that thing about colours muddying as you draw is because the default settings for photoshop use a physically incorrect calculation for mixing colours. change the settings to enable gamma for mixing rgb colours.
I am a cartoon style artist watching semi-realistic Artist makes me realize they are Brutal but depends how GLAZE their art styles for example Juicy Semi-realistic Art = Something suspicious Spicy Artist.
omg thankyou, im decent at sketching, i used to do it in class so i never really used color, switched to digiral and i was horse shit at it. im going to glaze EVERYTHING I SEE from now on. drawing might be fun again since now i have a chance to actualyl make something that looks good and not 4th grade level horse shit.
I like your coloring style, it really catches my attention. I like oil paintings so that's probably why i like your vibrant colors, but i would have emphasized the shapes that the light would have created on the dress, the skin and the hair of the girls to make the painting more three-dimensional. Try to make harder shapes if you want.
If only I knew how to work with layers properly. When do you color on the same layer. When do you move to another. I still color flat and add a new multiply layer over everything to shade. I need so much more practice.
This is the funniest art tutorial video I've ever seen. Super entertaining. This is also the first time I've seen one of your videos, so you better believe that "I'll be back." (Read in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice for best value.) On a different note, I'm colorblind, so I'm finding the whole coloring portion of my art career extremely challenging. Tryna figure out some kind of hack to give my art good coloring...without...being able to see most colors. It's a doozy of a problem, to be sure. Might have to stick with just black and and white or grayscale stuff as my 'style'. *sigh* Great video, sir!
Thank you, I am very artistically challenged

also having brush options is nice but for beginners all you really need is a round brush and an airbrush
