@@fouada8656 The M12 batteries are way smaller, and I have limited space in my tool bag. I can fit 4 M12 tools, 4 M12 batteries, and a charger. If I carried M18, I'd probably only be able to fit 2 tools, 2 batteries, and no charger.
@fouada8656 Both the Milwaukee 12v and 18v lines are good to buy into, because they have a lot of different tools in both battery systems. I carry M12 in my general tool bag with my hand tools, and then depending on the job, I carry a bunch of M12 tools in a Milwaukee Packout duffel bag, or M18 tools in a Milwaukee rolling Packout. If you’re a DIYer, M12 has plenty of power. M18 is better for bigger projects, and has bigger tools like a miter saw, table saw, etc. And you can get both lines for pretty cheap(often ~50% off) if you use the “battery hack” at Home Depot. I just picked up the M12 oscillating tool at HD for $88, and it’s usually $160. Buy the batteries/charger and oscillating tool bundle, then return the batteries/charger, but it’s only really an option once you’ve already accumulated some batteries/chargers.
I have both and actually prefer to use the M12 as the performance is nearly identical. The bigger difference is the smaller M12 battery vs the M18 as you can fit the M12 in a lot tighter spots especially with the smaller 2.5 HO battery. With that said, these are the 2 best multi tools on the market in my opinion so pick your favorite!

Thanks for comparing these. I have the M18 Fuel and I was just looking at picking up the M12 Fuel to carry in my tool bag. 👍

Why do you need an m12 if you have an m18? It’s barely smaller
