Thought this would hurt more, guess I am numb or just completely expected the loss. I appreciate your post game summary more than anyone elses because you are concise, straight to the point and pull no punches.
Iowa Hawkeye fan here.......and have to say, I feel badly for Nebraska, and have been to many Neb games over the years in Lincoln. Nebraska fans I'd say are the most respectful, classy, loyal and generally honorable and kind fans in ALL of college sports. I wish Nebraska well and hope they succeed truly. Great tradition and community there that deserves RESPECT and HAS IT.
from what I've seen, Nebraska does have the best fanbase. EVer optimistic about their football team and the girls volleyball thing was amazing.

The funniest part is Nebraska fired Solich after a 10 win season . If Nebraska won 6 games they would give the coach a 10 year extension and 100 million. No team has spent more for less than Nebraska. It is where bad coaches go to get amazing retirement golden parachutes. I mean they just gave the AD a million dollar raise. They just dump money on people and the fans keep watching 1995 you tube videos.
they didnt think solich would be as good as osborne, so they fired him after a few years. funny thing is it took 20 years for osborne to be as good as osborne. solich and polini were the last decent coaches nebraska had.
they fired solich and hired callahan, it only took half a season for callahan to destroy what took devaney and osborne and solich 40 years to create.

NOBODY out Iowa playing Iowa's style of play. They just have a way of hanging around n then just when it's needed they give you a haymaker n your toast
Minnesota was the only one this season who out Iowa'd Iowa. And there was a moment where Iowa still almost won.
Iowa’s style of play will win games against lousy teams but will never win against a quality team. Michigan can pretty much name their score next week. But it works for Iowa

I didn't know about Coach Rhule at first, but watching him Owning not Blaming is Huge. He's walking the walk and keeping the talk straight forward not to mention we're out 4-5 key players. First year of coaching a new team for Coach Rhule, first time the coaching staff have coached All together.
No doubt We have a Great Defense playing department. We don't have a quarterback or a kicker that part needs improvement.

What has he accomplished this season. No quarterback going into next season needed to find a quarterback desperately and no real play makers on offense. Team has to start from scratch offensively going into next season. Not really a successful first year

Gonna leave my comment I made prior to this game here: Hate to say it but Iowa's front seven is absolutely going to whip and manhandle Nebraska's O-line. Turnovers, punting, field position, penalties (i.e., discipline) and clock management are the types of things that win these games and (statistically) Iowa is amongst the best in the nation in punting, punt returns, field position and penalties so with that stated: Iowa 20 Nebraska 16. Fire Donovan Raiola NOW!!

@@rbra9611 Yah, not sure what game you watched but in the Nebraska vs Iowa game Nebraska averaged 2.5 yards per rush, Purdy was constantly under pressure when passing, Iowa consistently won one-on-one matchups in the trenches (you need to watch the game tape) and Nebraska's O-line had two false starts in the fourth quarter... at home.

all of our qbacks make huge plays for nebraska, the problem is they all made many more huge plays for our opponents.

Nebraska Football is never going to get over the hump until they fix the O-line and Donovan Raiola is not the guy to do it. Raiola's nephew, Dylan Raiola, probably didn't want to come here because he didn't have confidence in his uncle's ability to build an O-line. Fire Donovan Raiola, pay whatever the price tag is for the best O-line coach and the production from Purdy & the current skill players will emerge.
In the fourth quarter Nebraska's O-line had two false start penalties... at home. Fire Donovan Raiola NOW!!

Tired of the media talking heads not blasting Satterfield. He is sooooo obviously the problem. At first, when I heard about Rhule explain it like “Do we really need to fire coaches and have the players learn a new offense? Again?” I get what he’s saying, but when the offense is not getting any better; and the calls are largely weird (running the same play 9+ times and never having it work even once) is just….it is more on par with a mental disorder than anything else. It can’t be explained logically.

I'm a Hawkeye fan but I have to add something that I believe is an issue and has been for a long time. I think all of the teams should be allowed the same number of practices as the longest playing teams. I've always thought it was unfair that the best teams got all that extra practice. It's kind of like more tax cuts for the rich.
Except the 1% of top earners pay 49% of the tax burden...and top 10% pay for 75% of the tax burden....and 50% of the people pay ZERO taxes. Uhmmm try another analogy.

Bad coaching. Why is Rhule worth millions?
Bad teams lose close games. The offense has no stars, just mediocre skill players. Not good enough in the B1G. Iowa will find that out in the Championship game. Matt Rhule is a program builder. History shows that his first year is usually his worst year. He has to play with the former coach's players. GIve him 2 more. I think we'll see a big difference. We're not that far from winning this division. The only problem is that next year the B1G is adding three high profile programs. Where does that leave us? I don't know.
I see much better coaching that won this game poor management of time by Nebraska getting plays in light false starts that were at killer moments and then of all time to throw an interception well five and seven getting beat by a 10 and 2 team is exactly what I expected they did just enough to win and they did it when they needed to I will far better team more solid more fundamentally positive better coach look how long he's been there I think he started in what 94.5 I just am not sold on our coach he better prove it next year he had very poor clock management once again and it's timeouts what a joke I feel sorry for the players they gave it their best but that's the best they had 10 points😮
