I met her at a cocktail party about 10 years ago and she was so lovely! She directed the conversation and questions to me, she DID NOT want to talk about herself. Just so down to earth and so kind, I was blown away!!! She sold 100 MILLION albums.
I love how everyone has the same exact reaction once the chorus hits and Olivia Newton John just handles the key change with no effort! What a voice. RIP.

She was batting breast cancer for 30 years and she died a week ago she's British born moved to Australia at five. This is her song that she sang as sandy in grease.
We have so many artist on you tube from Olivia’s era but hardly any of her. She was a bombshell. As popular as Madonna and Janet Jackson. Not only cancer was her issue but she had other heart aches to. She had a boyfriend or husband that disappeared or died with a funeral and everything. Then he showed up alive somewhere else in the world which broke her heart. I’m sure I don’t have the complete story, but Olivia Always had heart in her singing.
Olivia does indeed have a silky smooth voice, but also a very powerful one, people are usually surprised when they see her sing a full concert set and her voice is just so strong and pitch perfect. ONJ was a powerhouse in the 70's and 80's and actually had the top selling single of the entire decade of the 80's with her mega-hit "Physical" which has just celebrated it's 40th Anniversary with a remastered 2CD/1DVD set including the videos for every song on the album (a first at the time, winning her a special Grammy) and also the 1982 live concert. Now, Dame Olivia Newton-John, who spent her formative years here in Australia, lives in the USA and works tirelessly to raise funds for Cancer research as she has lived with it since the 90's. An admirable lady who, friends say, is still as down to earth as she has always been.

We lost ONJ too breast cancer shortly after I won my fight with breast cancer. She was a warrior for over 20 years for Women's Breast cancer awareness. Would love for you to hear my favorite song by her. "I Honestly Love You"

I LOVE Olivia! Newton-John is in fact, her actual last name. It is very unusual but her family last name is Newton-John. She is not related to Elton John. She starred in the movie musical "Grease" where this song is from.
Oh wow I definitely shouldn’t have assumed, I forget that sometimes a persons name can be hyphenated from both parents as well. I’ve never seen Grease before but it’s definitely on my movie list!

Elton`s original name was Reginald Dwight, not really catchy is it and he isn`t related to Olivia, this song takes me back a few decades for sure, perhaps more than I wish ha ha ,,,,
