This is for the guy who made this reaction video, and doesn't seem familiar with her movies (especially 'Grease', where this song was featured) or her music, you really need to watch her movies, and listen to more of her music, she was a phenomenal actress, singer, and human being. The world just lost her last week, after battling cancer for 30 years. And there is hope in the movie, when she sings 'Hopelessly Devoted To You' because if you haven't watched the original 'Grease', you need to, because you'll understand everything Olivia Newton John's character
'Sandy' and John Travolta's character, 'Danny' had a summer romance, and things got complicated after school resumes, but they end up together. You need to watch this, the crazy movie 'Xanadu' (she sings the song of the same name), her songs 'Physical', 'I Honestly Love You', and much more! She was amazing, and the world is mourning her.

“Hopelessly devoted to You” played seemingly ( to me, anyway) on loop over our brand new stereo system in our brand new field house that Summer.
Thanks to Olivia for helping us Texas farm boys ( we still had a few then ) through those brutal weeks of two a day football practice in North Texas. I would not trade the memory, (every single time I hear this song - to this very day) as I sat with my back to the field house in a tiny sliver of shade, squinting out at the heat distorted chalk lines, getting ready to go again and see what new torture our new Coach had devised for us, and then hearing the lyrics“ hold on to the end, that’s just what I intend to do…” rising and falling with the opening and closing field house door, of the thought that this madness just might NOT ever end…😵‍💫.
But we mostly held on, and most made it to the end…thanks again ONJ…virtually every lyric rang true in some way, signifying that teams relationship with football that particular year.

After a week she played and sang everyone’s role’s in the movie. We all just wanted to watch Olivia and John. Olivia was always a happy and gracious women that will sadly be missed. Her music and her Cancer treatment Centre in Melbourne are great reminders of who she was. Thank you.

This song and "You're The One That I Want" were written by John Farrar who wrote and produced a lot of hits for Olivia. John, his wife Pat Carroll who sang as a duet with Olivia, were all friends long before fame in Melbourne in the 1960s.

Her album sales were in excess of 100 million copies. She was a force to be
reckoned with and really blew the public away with 'Let's Get Physical', a video
that began the workout genre videos that so many others emulated. Had she
gotten the full breast removal procedure instead of the partial, perhaps she
wouldn't have had a recurrence. Angelina Jolie was smart enough to do it when
she realized breast cancer was so prevalent in her family history.

She started as a Country singer who won CMA awards and the CMA Horizon Award for Please Mr. Please and Have You Never Been Mellow.
This song was just from the musical Grease in which she never went back to the roots of her success, Country.
People today are not aware of that start, they only know her from Grease.
    Rest in Peace Olivia.

One should be aware of the context of this song in the overall story of the musical "Grease" There are transformations of both her "goody two shoes" character and the "bad boy" that she is in love with to some sort of middle ground between their characters. Ms. John was very well cast for the role of Sandy. May she rest in peace.
