Yeah, I screamed when they gave the credit to "backup singers" for Olivia's vocals. Ugh! Let's face it, they shouldn't have used this video in the first place when there was a legitimate promo video made for the song. This was a video created years later for a home video release. None of the people in this video except for Olivia were part of the original recording. The youngsters need music consultants like myself to assist them.

Loved Olivia. She was one of my early crushes when I was a kid. Love this song. She was beautiful, sultry & sexy without ever being over done. She didn't need to promote herself as anything other than a genuine person. Olivia was the ultimate vocalist, she had sultry low tones and angelic high tones with everything in between.

One of my favorites from her. It's so sultry and mysterious sounding. A good friend of mine had the album Physical on cassette, and we listened to it over and over. ONJ was a huge part of the soundtrack to my early childhood. Phenomenal voice. What an icon! RIP

People kind of forget that she started in the country genre (and had a number of hits too) in the early and mid 70's. This song from actually came out on the Totally Hot album before Grease so this was the start of her shedding her good girl image and changing her style. Try "Landslide" and you will see this very clearly-Soul Kiss too.
One of her most astonishing vocals comes from "Big And Strong" in 1987-the note she gets to and holds near the very end of the song is unbelievable. Very clean crisp pure voice and surprisingly versatile

I hope you guys explore her early works. I remember her coming on the scene when I was just a kid. She actually started out as a country singer though being from Australia she didn't sound like any American country stars. That didn't keep her from winning awards however. She was the ACM Most Promising Female Vocalist of 1973 and Top Female Vocalist in 1974. Her album "Let Me Be There" was huge and my older brother who was in college at the time told me they played the heck out of it then. A couple of years later she had an even bigger breakthrough with "Have You Never Been Mellow" which was more her soft pop style. She had several albums worth of songs before "Grease" came about so you have plenty of early stuff to check out.
