7:41 - how do you know where those flights have flown in from just from watching them landing or taxiing from your aircraft window while you're taxiing?

Very old engine
Those Rolls Royce RB-211's are absolutely on song. It's incredible to think they were designed over 50 years ago!
That’s right originally RB211s we’re designed specifically for the L1011 Tristar.
Did you see the wing bend and flex at the start of the take-off roll?
@@reubenmorris487 yes
The 747 was designed over 50 years ago.
Who all are watching this video to listen to the sound of the engines!

I am mostly interested in hearing the engine sound along with the announcement made by cabin crew

I would even say me myself and I
That wing flex with roughly 8 ton of engine on it is unreal..

Gotta give it to him;
These are some of the most spectacular high altitude engine snaps I've ever seen.
Crazy.🤯

40k plus so yea thatll do it
Despite being a frequent flyer, I always get excited with engine start up on push back, the spool when the plane starts taxiing and that initial roar that turns into a quieter whirl as the plan speeds up on take off run. Such power. Such beautiful sounds!
Declan-Kayode Keegan have u ever flew to Mia from Lhr
Engine start in a 747 is very nice, as the fans speed up you can feel the slight resonance through the cabin and you know it’s holiday time.

Dear god it must be the same people making Range Rovers that are making the airplane engines.
When you hear those engines rev up like that, you know you're getting a big dose of raw power.
10:08 Listen to the engines, I love it
@British Airways Boeing 747-436 ya I loved it!
One of my favorite things to look forward to as a kid living in Phoenix was to look for this plane every evening around 5pm ... memories ... always wanted to take this fight, but now its gone.
I live in Phoenix too, been on this route 3 times as a child. Don't remember which aircraft I took though, because I was too young. Sadly I won't be travelling on a BA 747 anymore, but I hope to travel this route sometime in the near future.
Agreed! I went to ASU from 04-08 and recall that being the only 747 into Sky Harbor.
Those RB211's hitting their sweet spot at take off still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck after nearly 30 years of these beautiful machines being in service. Great video - thanks.
A big fat like for this video because BA is still flying the 747 in 2018
777-8 and 777-9 are replacing the the 777 -200 and -300 series and all 747 series including the -400
BA is replacing more and more of their 747s with A380s :(
Actually if you've paid attention to the end, it shows that the flight arrived in August of 2016. He posted the vid in January of this year and it was easy to mistake it for a flight that took place just this year. Temps. in Phoenix would've not been in triple digits if this flight was indeed taken around the immediate date before it was posted.
Ähh ? Lufthansa have also enough 747-400 in 2018 and the biggest 747-8i Collection in Service.
I agree any news on a rival to the Airbus 380, seems like Boeing are just going down the economy route with the 787 with its composite based light materials and efficiency
Beautiful sounding engines. Long takeoff roll too, 45 seconds from max thrust to rotate.
Indeed!
9:57 Are we not gonna acknowledge the Concorde in the background?? 😂😂😂
@Luke Mills yeah no it doesn't, Concorde are grounded period.

GE and Pratt Whitney...
Another like for the 747. Good to see a company using them to move passengers as opposed to the regular freight haulers. Flying over the big pond, I'd prefer a 747 over a modern 2 engine craft any day. 2 are good, but 4 are better!
don't wanna correct you but you probs meant 'twin' engine instead of 2 engine :)
@No name No surname 747 8 is the fastest passenger plane
@@aseem7w9 No its not. The 787 now is. The only 747 variant that has a cruise speed anywhere near a 787, is the 747-8 which is only a freighter series model and uses the 787's engines.
@@rotor13 747-8 isn't a freighter only model... Korean Air, Air China and Lufthansa are 747-8I operators.
I know another like for the BROLLER 747. In this time is fucking business dameges. IS it fuck? YES IT FUCK, NO IT FUCKN'T. Hithrow fuck up? NO fuck down. Many pussies PISS-PISS or PUSS-PUSS? It still amazes me to see how the wings and engines flex without falling off great video thank you 😊
Shawn Murphy it is really beautiful and scary at the same time.
They can withstand a hell of a lot more than that I tell you
Is it a Flyght simulator 2020?
@fruit king Top Gear taught us that
king it was very factual
Im from Phoenix and I always get so excited to see the the BA 747 land at Sky Harbor. The only 747 that lands at Sky harbor.
You were so lucky to fly on Queen before she was retired. Cant beat the RR fans turnin n burnin! Fantastic video and thank you THANK YOU for NOT using music. So many nice aviation vids wrecked with music these days.
10:08
Beautiful engine roar!
Frankie L. IKR!!!
What kind of engines are those RR RB211s?
Yes!
RB211-524H
Frankie L. Agreed one of the best
Nothing can beat that thrill, that speed and of course the view. I miss my days of flying since I retired but the videos are the next best thing. I think if I had the cash I'd be an addict to flight.
When I used to work at Boeing in Mesa and left at the end of the day, I would normally see BA289 flying in from Heathrow. It's still a thrill to occasionally track this transatlantic flight through Flightradar 24 from beginning and then see BA289 flying in.
Nice
WOW!!!! That was a beautiful take off!!! Those are gorgeous RR jet engines with a beautiful sound!!!!
When I made this trip it was so amazing to me that from departure to arrival we went along with the Sun and landed in the same day, 12 hours later. Mind boggling.
What shook me was the temperature once I stepped out of the airport. Direct hot slam in my face.
Hehehe... Yeah, that's Arizona for you! We don't pull any punches when you talk about summer heat.
It's the desert.
Supposed to be 118 here in AZ tomorrow
I couldn't believe how quiet and smooth the flight was! Thank you!
Well it was perfect flying weather
There are people who've been travelling in 1st class all their lives yet never video tape, and then you have those who find even the slightest upgrade the best thing ever. It's like a scale, really, from 1 to 10. Excitingly random world.
That engine/wing shot for take off is an incredibly beautiful thing. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this, I rarely get to fly in my job and I love it when I do. Usually my bosses prefer to send me Club Cattle Car, so I live vicariously through your videos. Thanks.
Tanay.my fabrate airlines international it's British airways when the flight over high skyvits look so good specially the clouds nice vvideo but I also miss continental airlines now it's United bull shit.
I did this flight back in 2008. I'm glad to see they continued using the 747 for all this time. With the pandemic killing the demand for super Jumbo's, we're gonna miss the uniqueness of the 747 and A380
The A380s aren't dissapearing in every airline. Emirates, Korean Air, Quantus, and Singapore Airlines still have numerous A380s going strong.
But they have officially ended service with them with Lufthansa and Air France
And Lufthansa have brought back many of their A380s for a while as well as still flying the 747s on some routes at the time of posting. When it comes to the latter I imagine they won’t be around too much longer though so use em while you can!
RB211s were optioned on 747s when I was an apprentice at Qantas. From memory, they introduced more power and fuel efficiency at the same time by using 3 spools. Nice to watch them in action.
So this is the beautiful queen that I see landing on my way home from work! Really something special to watch her make her final approaches as Im stuck in traffic. The Queen of the skies... long may she reign
my dad likes 747
It's always amazing to see this plane fly and around 5:15 PM and line up with runway 27R at Sky Harbor. gets even better when it lines up over my house in Mesa right at Val Vista and Brown. BTW If you see some dorky guy waving at you when you're looking out from the window on the left hand side of the plane, it may be me
Does it queef?
Have to disagree Concorde was the queen of skies and shorter flight time as well
+Dan Grimmette - I see what you're saying but, the Concorde no longer flys, but the Boeing 747 still does! The 747 is the most popular civilian jetliner in the world, hence the name "Queen of the Skies!"
7:33 When the gang pulls up
HAHAHA
lol
and they're all there like: "allow the queen through bruv lmao"
😂😂😂😂
Amazing footage Zuhair! We would love to share the departure clip out of LHR on Airliners Live with credit to your channel if you would allow that?
14:20 has to be one of the most beautiful images of uk I’ve ever ever seen from a plane. Insane to think major cities like Exeter, Torquay, Bournemouth, Cornwall is just below visible in one shot .
Took a while to find, but it looks like Abersoch in NW wales.
@@Daniel-ib9ku You're right. It's actually the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. RAF Valley is close by.
I always find the 747-400 wing to be a bit shaky. Those dual engines are dancing on those wings. I am sure it was designed to be mellow but sometimes I think woah thats a bit too much wobble going on.
Then you would like the B- 52. It's skin is wrinkly and stretches out in flight!
The wings to flex to avoid metal fracturing.
I see what you mean by be to wobble it does look scary
Nope, it's a virtually perfect machine. It does precisely what it was designed to do.
@@mackenja43 are you sure?
great video - I watch these big BA birds fly over my house at Langley & Iver in either direction every day - its good to see what you can see from the window seat of one of these sky kings as opposed to looking upwards - great wing flex, especially once the skipper cleans up
You have an incredible view from Langley & Iver! Thank you for watching!
I used to live in Iver (left in 1992) before I made the USA my home. I always thought that Iver was pretty immune to the takeoff/landing noise.

The RB-211's have the best music in the aviation industry.
they sure have a very distinct sound when the light off and go up to power.
Ummm hear the ge90s
SoCal Transportation Spotter I’d say that, along with the Rolls Royce BR-700’s on the 717.
He and Trent 700 ♥️🤩
Damxge YT Agreed nothing like GE90’s at climb thrust
That's got to be the smoothest landing yet.
Yea lol, I remember last year when I flew when we were landing it made a loud sound and it was nothing perfect like here
Those powerful, mix exhaust, RR engines are stunning, they just looks great and elegant! I love "em so much!
So well done. Thank you for this incredible vicarious experience.
Absolutely wonderful, someday I would like to get a chance to fly on that 747-400 before they go to retirement.
For the whole takeoff roll, I was watching the wings flex, almost waiting for them to just break and fall off! I think it's just an illusion of the wings looking much smaller than they really are. I've been on a 747-400 before -- behind the wings -- and I remember just how massive they were. Deplaning, I also looked out a window further forward to see just how big the engines really are. Still, the flexing looks to be about 3-4 feet!!! Probably even more at the tips (The winglets themselves are about 6 feet tall!).
Fly this route every Summer. Thanks for posting.
The touchdown was so perfect and soft.
Thank you for letting me share your journey from London to Phenix with you...it was fantastic !!!
Always like watching the 747's taking off! The wing flex is great to watch, more fun in real life though, of course. And those Rolls Royce engines, such a nice sound they have!
Such a smooth touchdown I almost missed it
I started to interesting about commercial aviation and airline companies when i was 13. I flew in 2016 Helsinki to Barcelona.
Ive lived down the road from the airport all my life. Always been fascinaited.

I’m glad you have a great flight. You flew in premium economy class. I actually flew in premium economy class on American Airlines. I already went to Switzerland in a few months ago. The legroom is great. Very comfortable for me. My last trips, I didn’t like sit in the economy class from London to Phoenix by last year. I got a bad knees. I went to physical therapy. They fixed my knees.
That is some great footage! From the airport runways to the engine shots, not to mention the awesome flyover views.
This is a fantastic video. The take off and landing are amazing and the HD picture quality brings it to life...I felt I was actually back in Phoenix!
Chanced upon this video of yours...am an aviation enthusiast and love watching such footage... very nicely done friend!! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing...!!!!
I loooooooove that roaring noise of those roles Roy’s engines looove it🤯😍
Look at those mighty RB211-524s flexing on the wings! There must have been some pretty strong winds up there that day. I live under the flight paths in and out of Heathrow near Maidenhead, about 12 miles east of the airport as the crow flies - I can recognise those engines by sound, and can be sure one of BA's Jumbos will soon appear overhead :)
12:29 beautiful engine sound
This has to be the best sound in the world..... RAW POWER !
That's what you call a proper long hauler - and you can't beat the purr of a set of Rollers'. Superb video - they may be getting on a bit but our Queens rule the skies.
Those RR engines sound fantastic, sounds so lovely. One day I wanna fly on the 747 our queen of the skies...
Another great and sharp video you made here Zuhair! Looks like you had a pretty nice flight with BA. The meals look perfectly fine. The interiors are of course outdated but nothing beats flying a 747 :)
Thanks as always for sharing

so quiet the engines and wow what views you have captured
Its a shame....the 747s have about 2 weeks left of flying this route. I'm going to miss them immensely. Gorgeous birds to see flying over the lake on final.
Such a smooth landing. I love that at heathrow at the tip of the runway when you’re at first queue to take off Concorde is there for show and storage. I love that. I flew this aircraft i believe LHR LAS. It was showing its age but it’s still the best.
I find planes so intriguing! Everything about their engines, how long that plane has flown for, just amazing! Great video!

It's almost absurd how after so many decades the RB211 refuses to die.
Nothing like the first generation gas-guzzling 747s with the reverse thrusters behind the engine at landing and all the other loud mechanical noises throughout the flight! Loved every minute of it! JFK to MAD and MAD to JFK 1971, 1972, 1973, 1976 (Pan Am mostly)
Brilliant video, it took me back to my 30 years BA cabin crew flying career on this magnificent Queen of the Skies aircraft.
