Within the first five minutes you answered most of my questions for set up that the other ones simply glossed over and left me confused. Thanks a lot for this video. Ditto. I've been binging a lot of the more popular channels and everybody is quick to assume that the only people watching are the ones that have a stronger understanding of how to set these things up. I very much appreciate finally finding someone who is willing to articulate the finer details to us noobs.

    • @SpikeStarkey
      @SpikeStarkey Год назад

Something to know about Graphics Settings, is that it's a per game thing.
Most games will work with the default settings, but there are a few that need to be tweaked to get right.
If you want to play at a higher resolution, you'll need to be willing to tweak settings to get full fps/speed. Again, most games will work with the default, but select few will need over/underclocking, frameskip, etc. to run well.

Also, There is another DS option for android called MelonDS, which is pretty decent however I still choose Drastic in most cases, Next AetherSX2 supports CHD, & I find wii is best on dolphin for handheld for its sub native options although I don't use it for much, all dolphin emulators can read RVZ file compression for wii games

After (very) lengthy testing most games for Wii tend to run better using a fork of MMJR2 rather than Dolphin for Handheld. Yes, Dolphin for Handheld can do sub-native if you insist on mmmaing games look awful but MMJR can get many Wii games running full speed at full resolution.

But it would also be nice having a dedicated device without a mobile network draining the battery like it would on a smartphone. I would assume it wouldn't get as warm as a smartphone, but I won't get better graphics and frame rate like I do on my smartphone. So I'm torn, bc I could just get, for example, those razer Kishi joy con things for my Pixel and have a better experience than this handheld, but I love the form factor and simplicity and the fact I wouldn't be draining my Pixel battery for emulation. I still need to see how long term playing battery life is on the 7pro with AetherSX2, so I am some testing to do

@Scott T I pre-ordered it before it began shipping, but shipped a day or two after initial date. The company recently posted that they are now caught up and officially out of the "pre-order" phase, and should ship out quickly. Only took about 12 days to get here. Not sure if the Chinese new year may affect orders or shipping though.

I like this guide very straight forward and simple. The other one I watched is ok but man every other minute he mentions to go to his website for more suggestions, not hating on the dude but it's really confusing on some parts, to much info going on.

My retroid 3+ metal edition was ordered last night and I'm pretty hyped as someone who wants to take a step back from CoD and Battlefield and try some new games. thanks so much for the tutorial as I've never emulated anything other than android on my windows machine! anyone know what the times for shipping are though? I ordered from the retroid site and used DHL and am shipping to Phoenix Arizona (Southwest United States)?

Firstly thanks for the hard work, it's greatly appreciated. I have. Even using Dolphin MMJR to play GameCube games, but for some reason, it flashes up on the screen with the inputs as I press them. I can see you don't have that problem in the video. Any ideas?

Great tutorial. I do have a question though: is it possible to save the configuration of Daijisho, so that I could import the configuration on another device? (I have multiple Android devices, so copying the config would say a lot of time)

I'm new to this and waiting on my RP3+. I need to build a rom library. Could you give me any advice on which file types to look for and which to stay away from. I don't know the difference between a zip and a d7 or any other type. Thank you

Hey! If you notice I mention zip or CHD or other things in the video. Those are my format recommendations. I would recommend keeping any games as 7z mostly because the games that would work that way are going to be smaller as CHD or something else. For most older consoles zip will work well. For most disc based consoles, CHD is best.

I've sent them a very angry email about the way they are treating their customers. I received my original RP3 after placing pre-order 2 days before they announced RP3plus.
Still - I placed the order on 8th Nov, they should ship out a new product on 18th. I asked yesterday about the update, and my delivery is postponed by another two weeks lol.

As I went to set mine up, I found that it will not connect to any WiFi network, whether one of my two secured ones or a wide-open public one. Sigh...email off to see about getting a replacement. I'll keep this bookmarked!

It's not the right white bar that's the issue for me, the bottom swipe up bar disables that area of the touch screen... on onscreen keyboards you can barely get it to register the bottom row of characters (or any touch options located in this area...... I have found that if i swipe up during gameplay and i mean swipe all the way up and immediately release it will drop me out of the emulator, and if I then immediately open the emulator in use back up through the daijisho apps tab the lower white bar will be gone at least temporarily. Only solution I've been able to find for this... If anyone else has a better one I'd love to know about it.... Also I use aethersx2 with my rom's in CHD seems to work great for me

I don't know if you've solved this yet, but I just dealt with this myself. There's an android setting, i think maybe under accessibility, gestures, you can change to have the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen. That gives you the back button, switch app button, and whatever the other one is. Much prefer that over that white strip thing. Super annoying.
