No harm, certainly. I added them all "just in case" but of course if you will never play a certain system you could skip it. In the grand scheme they take up very little space compared to all the ROMs anyway so I just install them.
I followed your guide to the Daijisho and added for example GBAdvance roms that i had from retroarch and loaded the core you told us to load but im still getting a black screen everytime i try to play the games

Hey guys I have everything setup, and all games are running properly. However, I'm not getting any of the bios boot animations. This is interesting because in Retroid Launcher they do appear. Is there a setting that "skips" the boot logo in Daijisho? I can't seem to find it if that's the case. Thanks!
Any idea how to get save states to store on external storage? I wanted my save states to stay on my roms card so i could acess them from linux and not have two sets of save. However, i get an error saying acess failed when trying to save/load states from my card in Android
I didn't set up Google at initial setup. It now won't log in to Google giving me server errors. How can I factory reset. I'm going to try to manually get a newer apk for Google chrome and hopefully that might help. But if it don't do you know how to factory reset it?
During the initial retroid setup wizard, do you recommend installing all applications in the preinstall apps from google play services? I'm not sure if these are included in their os build and could be older versions of the apps?
I installed them because I was curious but you don't *have* to really. There are only a few things, lie Dolphin for handheld, that you couldn't just install later from the Play Store if you decide you want them.
I love the way this looks and might switch over from Dig. But can you create your own systems like you can in Dig? For instance, if I wanted to separate my NES and Famicom games into separate systems?
Sure, you can. Although it includes Platforms setup, you could always create a new Platform with a new name and short name and the same players with a different rom folder.
Great video. I'm having trouble running Saturn's Sega Rally on Yaba Sanshiro 2 though,paid or free version.both are problematic for Sega Rally. Whether I run it on it on the retropocket 3's included front end or stand alone, I'm always getting popping and skipping audio sounds,input lag, and frame rates that drop allot in Sega Rally. I've tried various settings in the emulator but still it runs poorly. Question:are you running the game perfectly or close to it? Also, what bios are you using? The included Yaba Sanshiro 2 ones,or do you install your own Saturn bios? If you do install them what directory on this device? Most any other games runs well but not Sega Rally,does this emulator have trouble running it well? I've tried RetroArch but it seems to run my Saturn games not quite as well overall,as if its abit of a resource hog so I've stayed away from it for Saturn stuff. What are you settings to run Sega Rally? Thanks.
I will be honest, Yaba Sanshiro is one of my least favorite emulators. It's unfortunate because 1.) it is the best option we have and 2.) I love Saturn. You're right to say Sega Rally is one of the worst performing and most difficult to emulate though. My best settings suggestion would be: CPU Affinity and SH2 Cache ON, Open GL Video Core, Frameskip ON, Triangle polygon generation type, 1 or 2x resolution (this doesn't seem to change performance much in this game), RGB Resolution Original, Use Computer Shader ON, Sound Engine Current, Sound synchronization time Real Time (this seems important for the best quality audio). Give those setting a try and let me know if it is playable. I still get the weird issue with the ground textures showing the sky behind them, but the audio is mostly correct and the frame rate is stable although not perfect.
I knew you were the guy to ask because you have a love for the Saturn thats awesome. My favorite console also. Your advice helped abit,the sound skipping isn't so drastic now and the frame rate more steady. Thanks for the help. I agree with you,I'm not afan of this emulator either. Never liked it much on my PC,and the same troubles I'm having on Android as well. Its buggy and tends to just be somewhat a moody emulator and does weird stuff at times. I usally use Menafen with the Mednaffe front end,or Beetle Satun in RetroArch. Both are really great,just wish they were there on Android. Bettle Saturn is but it always crashes when loading a game in Retroarch. So I guess its just Yaba Sanshiro for now,a shame because the other two do a much more stable job. Thanks a lot for this tuto. I am currently having a problem with Daijisho and Redream. When I launch a Dreamcast game from Daijisho, I go to the library and I click on a game. The game is not directly launched but send me in the Redream emulator to choose again the game to launch. I have this problem only with Dreamcast from Daijisho, every other platforms are correctly launched. All my Dreamcast files are in .chd. Thanks a lot for your help !

It will! The software side of things is basically the same between the two. It is just RP3+ will perform better and can emulate some high end systems better. I will make a new setup guide but other than adding things like Wii, PS2, and Gamecube it will be the same.

Most emulators will not play PS1 from a zip file. Also, CHDs are usually smaller than their corresponding ZIP anyway, and still use lossless compression.
@@MjolnirStone I see. I have only ever tried SwanStation through Launchbox/Retroarch and it runs the zip files great. When I extract the zip files before hand they are in bin/cue but they also contain several additional "track" files. Not sure what to do with the multiple tracks.
How do you play the sega cd + 32x games? Do you need the sega cd file and the 32x file in the same directory with the same filename? What emulator/core do you recommend for this?
Good question! There aren't actually any 32X CD games I actually want to play but you would use the 32X core. That core can also play Sega CD and Genesis games, so it's fine. I recommended Genesis Plus GX for Genesis/CD because it is generally better, but PicoDrive can do all of them.
Dolphin MMJR2 is really your only choice but beyond that I don't know much. I don't find it worth the effort because very few GC games play well on Retroid Pocket 3.
…i dont like these frontends…it seemed like you needed or was forced to use them…but for a couple of years now i reject unnececcary frontends…an overcomplicated clotted visually disturbing filter between picking an emulator and using its often clear and simple cover art and folder representation…dont get me wrong…i have as many an love n hate relation to the comically messy retroarch…but use it for everything up to snes and saturn…i like my clean and simple desktop…my own static middle grey brushed metal background…organized system icons and next page emulator apps…after that categorized folders with android games…struggled for years with all of these fancy looking frontends for my different handhelds…if anyone have the same bad experience with frontends as i…i say…you are not alone…
This front end is super easy to use and set up. Don't know why people struggle so much with it. It takes me longer to transfer the files than to set it up.

Actually, no. Most people seem to complain about the opposite with every disc showing and they don't lie the clutter. Are you using the default Retroid Launcher?

I don't have an rg353p to test but if you are using Daijisho I suggest you pop in to their official Discord. They are very friendly and helpful!

What do you mean? Just add the file path to the player and you are done. Have you seen Retro Game Corps guide on it?
