This is the first time for me to finish a shawl that I have been trying to do for the last month ANDFINALLY! I found someone who actually I can understand. Thank you Wilma so much and keep up the good teachings
Thank you Wilma!! I am using arctic white, opaline green, and and daylily pink. I had made a Baby's First Christmas blanket in these colors and wanted to make a shawl with the same colors for Grandma since she cannot see her new granddaughter. Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Blessings to you for sharing your gifts with all of us.
I am SUPER new to crochet and I'm a visual learner. Video is so much easier for me than reading a pattern. I followed along with the video, but when it comes time to go on my own, I'm lost!! I'm gonna give it another try. Fingers crossed!
Thank you very much ! i searched all over the web trying to look for some pattern of a poncho that i want to make for my daughter and i would get stuck at different points following the patterns but your explanation is clear ! I am going to try to make it in purple color .Thank you once again
Hi Wilma! Wat ben ik blij dat ik jouw site ontdekt hebt. Heerlijk rustige en duidelijke uitleg; daarna een overzicht. Fantastisch. Ga vandaag materiaal voor deze shawl kopen. Een groet, Lianne (Perth, WA)
Thank you so much! I do not read patterns very well yet. This is perfect, as I can follow along! One more xmas gift will be off the list. It is so pretty!❤
lovely video. i know it's a really small thing, but i really love your choice of nail polish. Since your work is the main focus of the video, you really don't want a distraction., so many times I watch knit/crochet videos where the person is wearing some ugly blue nail polish ... which makes me think of dead bodies. thanks for a lovely choice!
Thank you so much, really appreciate it! Especially because I never put bright colors on my nails, especially for the videos haha. So I'm glad you noticed it and like it! :D
when turning your work, make sure that the yarn is in front of your work - in other words it must be between yourself and the work BEFORE you work 3 chain for the next row - you'll find that the 3 chains dont twist and the loops will be on the edge and not twisted inwards - it makes it easier to insert your hook into the 3rd stitch when you get back on the following row
Love this pattern, especially that it is from side to side. Thank you! Now to find a yarn similar in the colour ways that you've used! Just love it! Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you SO MUCH. This really helped me and you explain so well. I am very new to crochet and I was worried that this wouldn’t work but it turned out beautiful ❤️
Hi from Los Angeles. I’m using Caron Cakes Buttercream. Stopped crocheting years ago. I still have skills but lack confidence. This is my first attempt at making a shawl. 😬 new subbie 😍
I made this for my daughter a few weeks ago, with a few tweaks cos obviously it's smaller then the normal size for an adult and added tassles x she loves it its the only think she keeps on as a scarf thanks so much its so easy to make an I love the fact u start bottom up it didn't take me long to complete, I recon I cud of completed the size I made within a day but took me under a week as the joys of distractions of toddlers they always want ur attention wen ur distracted 🤣🤣🤣 even tho it was for her she ran off with my crochet hooks an the wool I was going to use too but it's done an looks lovely thanks so much ❤️x
I forgot to put too Its thanks to ur video that I know how to make tassles so easy to make now thank you so much all my others went wrong or came undone these are great an have stayed a tassle ❤️ x
Thanks so much, this is a very beautiful pattern, making it now using Lion Brand shawl in a ball in the colorway calming desert, . Love the way it's turning out.😊
@@MsMelaniekaye yea? I dont know what you mean really i just know that your supposed to skip the stitch above the popcorn to get the right stitch count at least that's what I did but it was a long time ago that I crochet this soo
Thank you for this lovely pattern an tutorial, I am near finishing the Me Shawl. I can't wait to start this one. Many thanks from North West England U. K.
Thank you for the lovely pattern. I have a beautiful skein of yarn that has been sitting here for at least two years waiting for a pattern to go with i! This will be perfect.
Hi! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. I have a question though. I keep getting stuck on row 9 where you repeat row 3. The pattern says we should end up with 36 dc, but I keep getting 37. I have counted all rows numerous times...I found that my problem is in row 9 since all others rows are stitched perfectly. I’m thinking I’m not sure where to actually put the DC in the popcorn stitch. Please anyone help me! Thank you in advance
Hi Wilma, where do I stitch on the popcorn stitch when I’m double crocheting? It’s very hard to tell when I’m double crocheting. I wish you showed how to double crochet after the popcorn stitch row. Am I supposed to skip each chain space or double crocheting crochet chain space? Besides each popcorn stitch there will be a space on each side of popcorn stitch. How can I stitch there?
I have a very important question. I am stuck on row 9 where you repeat row 3. The pattern says we should end up with 36 dc, but I getting way more. I have counted all rows numerous times and am fine until row 8, where I end with what looks like at least 38 stitches, and that's not even counting all the stitches in the popcorn. Plus, I’m really not sure where to actually put the DC in the popcorn stitch. Please help me!
The same thing happened to me! One of my rows ended up with extra DCs! I had to undo several rows to go back to row 8, popcorn stitch row. When you begin row 9 and come up to the stitches by the popcorn stitch, you’ll notice there are two stitches above the popcorn. Skip the right stitch and double crochet into the left stitch. I hope that makes sense! (The left stitch is slightly higher than the right. Ignore it :-) After I completed the row, I had 36 dcs. I hope this helps!
Thank you for this tutorial! I appreciate that you explain the pattern verbally and you give the stitch count at the end of each row.
I've never seen the popcorn stitch done that way, that cool
I like the way you make tassels. That’s a pretty scarf.

Skip the popcorn stitch. It took me awhile to figure that out, too.
Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much!
Another wonderful pattern, thank you, I learned a lot from you.... :-) greets from Switzerland :-)
I love this pattern. You are so talented! Very well explained and easy to follow. I hope you are in good health and enjoying everyday! 💜💮
Wow!beautiful!
Thank you 😍
Beautiful ❤️.
thank you I am going to try this
How may I get a printed pattern? Where do I need to go to get it please?
I would think to keep the stitch count correct you need to put a stitch in the top of popcorn stitch. Pity this isn’t shown or explained in the video.
I have tried making this and it has gone ruffled and not triangle shape. What have I done wrong?
Sounds like your tension is too tight. Which yarn did you use?
How many grams is the cake you were using and is it yarn number 3,4?
How many grams it took roughly to make this project.
Lovely as you are
Thank you so much 💗
Thank you once again. Your amazing with all your wonderful designs
Thanks so much Penny, really appreciate it 💗
How much wool does it take
Please tell me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I used 1 yarn cake which is 3 ply and 820 yards (200g/760m).
Can I use fingering weight yarn for this?
