    Hello Wilma, I was so blessed to be able to share in your visit with Josie, Thank you! I clicked on something in all free crochet. Can't tell you how I find the page with your lovely shawl. I'm tickled to say it's exactly what I've been looking for. I want to make s prayer shawl for a lovely friend. I've purchased books I couldn't really afford just hoping I could make one of them work. Then here you are! It's simply easy and more then that exactly what I'm about. Water.. It's been a strong part of my whole life. (LOLOL we all start there) seriously it's a very meaningful symbol for me. After going through a horrible accident..twice! I've known it's the living water of life , GOD , who certainly sustains me. So, to bring it back to the point..LOL it may sound silly I have a strong pull to the color blue (& white) I can ONLY imagine it's the water connection for reasons I'll not bother you with. The shawl, being a prayer shawl, for my friend Will represent being covered By God's GRACE, humbly submitting to the FATHER beneath it during prayer and knowing where your planted..in the living water of life. There is no thought of an idol or anything to that effect. Just a sweet, beautiful, way to bless my friend for her tinge of prayer and certainly to wear. I have fyi thank you for the video. I cannot read patterns due to brain injury( I see what it reads and I've got it ..easy peasy ;-) & OH WOW.. the YARN! I've seen this style so often and decided I'll never use that. It must take so much if it to complete anything. It's so thin..on and on plus that caused alarm for the cost. You've shown me .. (I'm totally laughing because God's been showing me all the time lately, NEVER SAY NEVER! & Here it is once again. Can't keep God in a box by limiting myself in or to ANYTHING!) Now I can't wait you see if they have a colorway local that comes anywhere near what you've used. I sure hope so!
    SERIOUSLY, sending you loads of HUGS & BLESSINGS
    You are a very brave and more importantly a beautiful young lady

    Thank you for doing this Wilma. My son died last year and my daughter is getting married and wanted to use blue for him in her wedding. Shes had a really hard time and we spent months trying to find something I could make her for the wedding. Im legally blind and have a hard time reading patterns or watching most videos. Your video is absolutely perfect for me AND its in the blue she wants to use AND its a pattern she likes. which is amazing bc shes not a fan of crochet. lol anyway its like its meant to be thank you so much!

    Love this shawl too and your enormous dedication to finding others with conditions like yours . I wish I knew more people that shared a type of epilepsy that I have one type is I have very common partial complex another type is phonetic I’m extremely sensitive to sound strange sound will trigger a seizure some not to strange but things like gunfire balloons fireworks coughing certain music laughter some people’s voices I can’t be in crowds it’s a rare and I’ve never been able to meet anybody else with that subtype 😐
    Anyway I love you work I have some special yarn cakes from my local yarn store just waiting for the perfect shawl pattern. I love your videos. Oh and I saw a pretty diamond 💍 on that left finger💗💗 Can’t wait for more beautiful crochet creations to come .Greetings from USA

    Hi Wilma. This is a fabulous pattern, I found it to be so relaxing. I've loved every minute doing it. However I'm going to have to undo it as it's just not the right shape. I think it would be so helpful if we could see the shawl you did laying flat, the fist part of mine doesn't lay flat ,and is dome shaped if you get what I mean. I used a scheepjes Whirl which costs alot ,so I want it to be perfect. I'm going to do it in wool in dyed myself, it's 4ply.
    Thank again for ALL the patterns you have done ,You are such an inspiration . love Amanda xx😊💞

    Hi Wilma I have just purchased the pattern for your beautiful Bella Vita Shawl, I'm a little confused as to what you refer to as
    ' the corner ' Please could you try to explain to a beginner 😉

    • @WilmaWestenberg
      @WilmaWestenberg  6 лет назад

      Hi Ann, thank you so much for your support! Really appreciate it :) Sorry for my late reply, I'm not on RUclips that much. The corner is the '1 double crochet, chain 2, 1 double crochet' in the middle of every row! :)

      @WilmaWestenberg  6 лет назад

      Thanks so much Lorinda! It's from a Dutch brand called Durable - unfortunately I have not found a webshop yet that ships the yarn internationally. I've added a link to similar yarn cakes that are sold worldwide if you're still looking for similar yarn: wilmade.com/joyful-josie-shawl/

      Red heart came out with a very similar one called "it's a wrap rainbow"(they also have just a plain gradient called "it's a wrap" which I am using to make her Neverending shawl for a friend. I do a lot of prayer shawls, but this will be my first with this type of yarn as it is going to a special person. The yarn is a super fine (1) 55% Acrylic and 45% cotton It's my first time using a yarn this fine and I've been crocheting since I was 7 and will be 52 in a few months lol. Hoping I don't make a mess of it.

  • @purpleiguana208

    I saw this and immediately started crocheting. I was a little disappointed at first because the top border was sort of "frowning" down rather than going straight. I'm into the second solid section now and I laid it out to take a picture to show my mom, and my shawl looks upside down... the bottom edge is nice and straight and the top edge is curved. I'm following the pattern as you show it, but my shawl looks upside down. Have I done something wrong?

    • @amandall3633
      @amandall3633 5 лет назад

      The same has happened to me. I've had a few attempts. I've also got a bowl shape at the top centre. I'm giving up 😢

      I should have read the comments before I started this….mine is also ‘upside down’ and not as pictured despite following the pattern. It’s a shame but I’m going to have to rip it all out ☹️

    Wat een mooi patroon is dit ! Enthousiast begonnen. Na diverse keren uithalen en opnieuw beginnen...moet ik het nu opgeven. Helaas...ik krijg de vorm niet mooi. Ik volg exact het patroon en ben ervaren. De bovenkant gaat bij mij aan beide zijden te schuin naar beneden lopen. Ik werk met acryl en kan dit niet blocken. Ook met wel blocken zou ik dit nooit recht krijgen. Zo jammer...ik vind hem echt mooi..maar mij lukt het niet..
