    --- About this pattern ---
    The Durable Friendship Shawl is quite simple: it's mainly made out of double crochet stitches, chains and puff stitches. A good project for beginners who want to give their first shawl a try!
    I've used fine / sport weight yarn which gives the shawl a nice drape. The good thing about this shawl is that you can use any yarn you like! Find some American yarn recommendations on wilmade.com.
    Yarn: sport weight yarn or similar
    Hook size: 4mm / G
    For more info, please check out the written pattern on my blog, as it contains a lot more detailed information.
    --- Share your final result with me! ---
    Let me know in the comments which yarn you are going to use for this shawl. Please share a picture on Facebook, Instagram and Ravelry so I can feature you!

    I love this shawl SOOO much! I think/HOPE i will be able to follow it with your instructions though I'm still semi-new to crochet. The only thing i wish i could see the whole thing laid out flat once complete so i can see what my end result should be. Wrapped up on a person doesn't give me that. Thank you SOOO much for this tutorial!!💜💜💜

    Okay, i made this shawl and will take a victory lap because personally i don't think i would consider this a beginner-friendly crochet project. Especially the border work. And by that time you've spent all this time and really don't want to give up or mess up! Though it is also my favorite aspect of this gorgeous shalwl! I think that if i had it to do over again, or in a future project that has some more difficult stuff at the end, i will try out that part first before i begin the project... although IF i had, i may not have gone foward with it and then i wouldn't have my all time MOST FAVORITE crochet work and shawl of ALL TIME! (All time, being about a year, lol, since i started chrocheting).
    To the tutorialist The Amazing Wilma, if i may, i love your accent and your technique and the way you film it, and truly EVERYTHING the exact way that you do it, but i do have one thing i wish that you would add to the way that you teach it... especially when it gets into anything tricky, if you would show it and teach it exactly as you do one more time than you do as you are starting a new row. It's hard to separate out what aspect we are doing somewhat differently because its the end of the row, and when the repeat starts. This way we can see the rhythm as well as get another look at where the stich goes and pattern looks. At my stage which is a bit past beginner, i had to take screenshots and expand them to try to see what the goal was... this is not easy on a moving video. I had to undo and redo a lot due to just that one thing. So its just a small change but it would be SOOO helpful to those of us who are stretching outside of what we know how to do. Oh, and also if you could show the whole thing laid out flat at the very end. I was worried throughout the entire making of this that i was getting the end of the rows wrong and messing up the whole thing. This last one could totally be just me.
    Having said all of that, your channel is the ONLY one that I've not only subscribed to but also hit the little bell thing so I'll always know when you put up a new one!!! SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! I never thought i could make something so beautiful and intricate! I did it in velvet! Thank you SOOO much!!!💜💜💜

    really beautiful. I am a beginner but I understood your excellent explanation. one small thing - as a newbie it would be easier to see if you used a lighter colored yarn for the tutorial. subscribed.

    So gorgeous, so even though the lion brand jeans is a dk yarn should i still use the same size hook, 4mm or should i go up? Thank you for sharing your beautiful pattern and givig a tutorial!

    • @WilmaWestenberg
      @WilmaWestenberg  5 лет назад +4

      Thank you so much! You can try 4.5mm and if that hook size feels too small, try 5mm. The shawl will end up larger but you can decide to make only 4 repeats instead of 5! :) 💕

    Hello, I definitely love this to give it a go. I am not very familiar to American Brands. If anyone could help me find suitable yarn for this project from woolwarehouse.co.uk I would really appreciate it. That is where Normally get them from. Or another web, I don’t mind. Thanks so much
