Love your videos! You really inspired me to keep working on myself and my brand. YOU ARE AWESOME. I can definitly stay that he is right about RUclips and Twitter. I had a LOT of new people following me on Twitch because they saw my RUclips videos or Tweets. 10/10
I feel like you've talked about how the opposite in other videos, how Twitch takes an absurd amount of luck and your job as a streamer is to lower the amount of luck needed. Now, there is no luck involved? I'm not trying to call you out or anything, I can understand how, with new research, formulas and such can change. Keep doing a great job, my man.
Yes, in his very video he said that he's been trying to make youtube content for 13 years and the one video suddenly took off because the algorithm itself decided to share it, and that eventually led to him getting partnered on twitch.. So how exactly is that not luck? I do enjoy his content, but this video can safely be put back into the recycling bin he pulled it out of.
@@regalx1 do you really look at his stream quality and his knowledge about all these things and say that his career is luck? yes most opportunities are created by luck like some random guy joining your 0 viewer stream but it takes skill to capitalize on those opportunities and keep that viewer in chat and coming back every stream. Idk why your trashing this guy. he knows what he is talking about and he is clearly good at his job. he has worked his ass off to get where he is today and he deserves to be there. don't say that someones career is just based off of luck. its not true
@AlphaGaming, I'm a filmmaker in the industry for 5+ years and I've been watching your newer 2020 videos. DUDE! the LastPass ad you did in this video was entertaining and made me want to get it. Please do more of this! Keep up the good work as well! You have helped me grow my stream SO MUCH. Just wanted to drop this comment here. Cheers, muchacho!
That why is so important. It's hard to answer. I've been working a lot on quality by upgrading lights and cameras. The interactivity as a music streamer is taking requests and talking directly with chat. The discoverability is what I've been working on the last year by reposting drum covers from my streams and now creating educational videos to learn how to drum. The why though is something I forget about and it's the whole reason I got into music. Sometimes, you just need to connect with someone and something. It helps knowing others feel the same as you do, especially in hard times. When you're feeling depressed or hurt or angry, music helps me feel that so viserally. It reminds me I'm not alone. Thanks for reminding me Harris!
Dude your insight it’s ACTUALLY invaluable. Not only is this video already in my Favorites playlist, but the way this is laid out is so digestible. I find myself stuck on the “left side” constantly - this is a great visual to remember. I swear you don’t get enough credit. I’ll be taking all this advice to heart🙏🏽
I am 60 years old and started streaming last year and I find it exciting. Your advice and knowledge are very much appreciated. From an old guy I have to say it is good to see someone who talks straight and actually makes sense....thankyou :-)
Another banger!! Took your advice to grow other mediums of social media first and grow my twitch community from there. I now have one of the best reactionary content communities around! Thank you, Harris!
Your content is so genuine and helpful! As someone putting everything they have into something like streaming, it’s amazing to have someone like you there for advise when I need it. Thank you!
Ive been streaming o twitch for like only a week now and when i got my first new follower it made me so excited. And then the next day this guy came through my streaming saying he loved it and now he/she is in my streams so much, plus i have like 8-9 viewers on one of my streams. Its was so awesome. And thats the reason i watch your youtube videos, to help me get better at streaming. Keep up the great work.
Bro, the things you say really shows the XP points you’ve gained from all the years grinding on the platforms. Truly, you’ve inspired me and I just spent the whole night on the left(Q and I), setting up my overlays on OBS for my stream and you post this!? Your advise couldn’t have come at a better timing. From the bottom of my heart, 🙏🏽 thank you for the heart and hard work you put in these videos.
I am so happy I got a chance to watch this video. I'm a streamer and stay-at-home dad and I develop and create all my own content on my stream (Overlays, animation, alerts, ect.) I was literally about to go waste more time recreating new stuff for my stream cause I've either gotten bored with it or I felt like it wasn't engaging my audience enough when I was missing the more important things that it takes to build a stream. Really, thank you for the advice.
Been watching Harris for a while now. But this one is probably the one I needed the most. I’m spending WAY too much time on the left side. Way too much. I think most of it, is, I’m nervous. Nervous about failing and trying to learn a side of this business that I didn’t think I’d need as much. Glad I found this video.
Thanks bro, this is great advice! I don't want to play games other than maybe a viewer request. My whole why is to help people and ease their path that I've been through before them. I hope we can collab some day
Excellent video . Im streaming since three years. But i was thinking about what other content i wanted to do. It took me a year but now i know. Your vids helped me push my strengths. I never beleived in luck
WOW! That was an amazingly well-made ad at the beginning! (had to pause the video just to write this comment) That ad makes the viewer really want to watch it from start to finish. In other words, it's highly engaging. Well-done! Respect!
2:46 you said your our stream daddy! Not stream doctor! This is why inlove watching your videos... you keep it real af! Keep up that work. I also shared your channel with a community im in. Hope they use you advise as well as I have. You helped my streams out tramendously! Thanks for all you hard work and advise.
Thank you so much Harris, your video brought me a lot of value and really validated my thoughts and plans to grow as a streamer. You're a true inspiration my friend! Also want to give huge props for the very creatively clever ad at the start of the video. Most advertisers don't understand that for an ad to work, it has to blend in with the content and be entertaining and native to the platform. You've executed it perfectly, making a great example how it should be done 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 I also wanted to recognise the intelligent way you presented the "Quadrants" which remind me of Robert Kiyosaki and his books: " The Cashflow Quadrant" and "Rich Dad Poor Dad". Needless to say, I liked, subbed and hope to one day catch a game with you and meet you in person to express my gratitude! Much love from Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘😁🤙🏼
Greetings from Germany. I love Twitch because its interactivity. I can talk to my audience I feel comfortable around them and I don't have to be ashamed for what I love to do. There even was a couple which fell in love because they met each other in my stream. That is something I will never forget. :D :)
I follow 2 large twitch streamers that are similar in size channels wise. Yet one of them streams to about 3-4 times as many viewers. Both are variety streamers and both will even be playing the same game at the same time but 1 of them has a very dedicated viewer base that shows up no matter what. Your brand is important this is really good advice in this video
So this is a strange post. Like so many who served, I had a traumatic brain injury leaving some holes in my short term memory... the ad you ran in the video is just what I needed. I usually hate ads but I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw this and clicked the link. Props where props are due.
Man i just found your channel literally 7 hours ago and I have not stopped watching... IVE BINGED WATCHED YOUR VIDEOS SINCE 7PM AND NOW ITS 2:50 AM AND IM STILL HERE!!!! Also I would like some advice from you because all this business talk you've done with making extra money, growing, creativity in streams etc. and I have what seems like a good plan to me but yet I'm not sure because I'm not a very smart person. If you can get back to me that would be great, Thank You... for being awesome and opening my mind up to having a business with streaming/content creation.
Hey Harris/AlphaGaming. I just wanted to say thank you for the video. It really shed some light on what it takes to be on a platform like this and I feel like it’s something us aspiring streamers needed to hear. Thank you for adding value to my life. Hope all is well, keep grinding brother.
What has been working for me thus far is streaming games that are unsaturated however not completely dead. Take Destiny 1 for example, atm the viewership for destiny fluctuates between 60-100 viewers and people like myself stream it nearly everyday. I think the key is to start off with slightly new/old games, grow in thst community and once you have gathered an audience that loves you for you and not the content switch to a similar game or subject and continue the cycle. This is my gameplan for growth and so far it is working. I started off with call of duty then i played destiny then i played rainbow six siege. As long as you stay in a similar category of niche of gaming your audience should/will never die. Consistentcy is also huge because once people see you are a legit person and are constently bringing more content, your audience will want to support you and your goals in anyway possible. ( yes im talking about follows and donations ). The point is keep grinding on twitch and push for somekind of growth everyday even if its only 1 more follow, subscribe, or mention.
My own experience suggests that the left column is irrelevant. My own channel is pretty small and niche, but it has an incredibly loyal community. The same group of guys every morning. All because we have a why. I do day trading. We seve an important pace in the markets and we're helping other people empower themselves and show gratitude. Almost everything else on my stream came out of necessity. I only put effort into the left side when we find it necessary. The other quadrants basically take care of themselves because the community has purpose.
I hope this doesn't get lost in the comments but I have a few questions for you. 1). Is it ok to rerun some of your previous streams as a smaller streamer on twitch that you feel are quality content to try to keep your streaming consistant and to pull in followers? 2). Uploading youtube videos consistantly, is this effective and will this yield results? 3). Will streaming regularly without over-doing it for burnout (3-4 times a week for 3-7 hours) effectively grow my stream? Me: Currently I have 86 subscribers on youtube, 136 followers on twitch w/ 3.5k views, and a couple videos over 1k views with several at like 400 views. Where should I proceed from here? I also noticed that some of my videos, if I give them a bit of a push, make the title as close to the search bar results as I can, and make sure videos with a name similar to whatever random idea I would look up pop up in the first 3-5 videos I tend to get much more views. Example is world of warcraft me killing the lich king if you look it up you may find my lich king kill video in the first few videos that pop up. Should I continue doing this whilst simultaneously employing as much creativity into whatever I enjoy AND whatever is popular? Also when it comes to youtube instead of twitch should I upload videos more than I stream? What's your advice for best growth in your opinion? Follow for follow right? "deletes twitch account" P.S I don't use social media for my content. Should I?
He mentioned specifically in this video to utilize social media to aid in being discovered. Twitter, Instagram & FB. Facebook gaming is growing at an incredible rate, and you may be missing out on a ton of potential viewers. Good luck! :)
As a content creator, myself, I'd suggest messing around with your thumbnails a bit to increase your click-through rate. You may have the best content, but people won't see it if your thumbnails don't catch their attention. :/
I'm not a gamer-but I'm looking into streaming. All I can say is WhooHoo! Finally a guru who actually know his sh*t. Gear sucks ideas rule-without ideas the left column doesn't mean Jack. You're sorta a Seth Godin with hair ;-) BTW you are the first person to make me hit subscribe.
i started streaming and i felt like in over my head a bit just trying to set it up alone but you know it is gonna take time i should just do my best and i really appreciate this video it gave me alot of insight :) obviously i need to work on alot but at least i have a general direction of what i need to do to grow i liked the video and subbed!
This is the video I needed man.. I've seen almost every single one of your videos, but this is the one. I've been dwelling and you called me out on it.
I had to pause it to come down here and say that I'm incredibly glad that you mentioned American Dad. He's an awesome dude and posts a lot of funny shit. Carrying on to watch the rest of the vid.
Your advice is the main reason I now have this channel, and I understand is going to take a lot, time and effort, but I still want to thank you for inspiring me to start. Keep being awesome dude.
I feel like RUclips is tough if you don’t have a huge audience already, and if you make something on a different but connected content, the cross pollination... how do we know they’d still be into the streamer? To make it worth the time? I have broadcast experience IRL and know about speech technique, the why and how for the technique behind a mic and camera. When doing this part time, it’s definitely tough for time, especially if it’s not repurposed content!
I have been binge watching your content for knowledge and information on how to properly start this streaming and youtube business.. I am a novice streamer just starting out and SADLY I don't even have my own set up. I stream in a internet cafe.. I'm from the PH. .. Anyway my point is... this video of yours "specifically is the coolest and funniest one when it comes to advertising your sponsor. ^~^
Okay, thought some of your previous videos were the best ever but NO!! This one is absolutely the BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!! Once again Mr. Heller, thank you so much!! Passing this on to all of our streamers!!
Just wanted to say thank you, whether or not you see it!! Your advice has made starting out a lot less scary and your videos are always super motivating!! Thanks man!!!
Everytime i watch your vids, there's at least 1 time in every video that sends a shockwave from the tip of my head to my feet, thanks for the wisdom. i'm an upcoming streamer and i can gladly say that your other streaming videos had a significantly positive effect on me.
Common wisdom says "knowledge is power", I prefer "knowledge is like laughter, it's better when it's shared". Thank you for yet another awesome, informative & helpful video.
Talent is the ability to exploit an opportunity, luck is the fact that this opportunity present itself in your life in the first place. That is why you need luck in life. Sheer work with only badluck won't lead anywhere. Luck without talent will be wasted. Luck and talent together and only together will make you great. This is what people mean when they say it's luck that made her business great and it show a lot of humility to be honest.
My biggest thing I am finding as obstacles is the IT side of setting it all up. I am not software savvy, and we're not allowed to ask for help in other streamers chat. So, there's lots of things I haven't set up properly yet as I don't know physically how to! For example, I want to set up my SL Chat Bot commands, but I don't know how to write the commands, I see where to, but I mean, literally the symbols are a blank for me. Once I've got the gist of things I'm fine at figuring things out, but I can't find any places with the most BASIC of tutorials for complete stream novices. :(
I agree with the discoverability. I have been told by viewers that just stumbled upon me said they would have followed sooner Had they known i existed.
Been thinking of getting into it, but Twitch in Malaysia just isn't a viable platform yet, maybe I'll look into another platform such as Facebook RUclips, then make a Twitch transition when it's widely accepted here. Lastly, I just wanna say I love your contents. It's informative and supportive both in facts and emotions.
Oh man. I was hoping you'd bring up Gary Vee when talking about Social Media Business Strategy and you did. Great props to you for knowing an absolutely amazing influencer.
they why!! YES!! I do what I do because I'm passionate about helping others relax, heal, love themselves more and create a beautiful life doing what they love!! 💜 now, someone help me with the other 3 quadrants...!! 😆
You are so inspiring, I have been watching your vids now for lika a week and I have watched atleast 20 different vids. Keep doing you and... HAPPY STREAMING ;)
I love you streamdaddy. I learend so much from you although I stream for longer than I dare to say. There is always more to know. LastPass is awesome by the way (got it before you made the "advertisment" for them :D ) Either I am dumb or deaf or both: How do I properly find my Why? "Wanting to entertain people" sounds like a way to vague why, or is it enough?

“I’m your stream daddy....” that got me 😂
Dude I laughed too hard lol
This is why I gave it a "like" and he delivered on the promise.
HAHA sounds good to me XD
I literally went back because I thought I heard him wrong and said "did he just say stream daddy?" outloud😂
He just slipped that right in there
That was the smoothest transition into an ad i have ever seen in my life, Linus should take some notes XD. Very entertaining as well

Harris, amazing ad! You made it so original & so cool!
Thanks for making my morning :D
Dude, Your advertisement during this video was freaking awesome!! good Job!
Just wanted to say thank you, whether or not you see it!! Your advice has made starting out a lot less scary and your videos are always super motivating!! Thanks man!!!
Hahaha! Now you’ll forever be branded as stream daddy! 2:45
BTW, Hi LastPass Harris! 👋 I didn’t know you and SquareSpace Peter were friends; Dope!
Love the setup man. Would you recommend the Elgato Key Lights?
That was an awesome funny advertisement for the sponsor of this video. Now... Lets watch the rest of the video :)
Everytime i watch your vids, there's at least 1 time in every video that sends a shockwave from the tip of my head to my feet, thanks for the wisdom. i'm an upcoming streamer and i can gladly say that your other streaming videos had a significantly positive effect on me.
Your channels one of the best ive discovered over the course of the last year. Keep up the good work man!
At 2:47 stream daddy isn’t it stream doctor LOL
Common wisdom says "knowledge is power", I prefer "knowledge is like laughter, it's better when it's shared". Thank you for yet another awesome, informative & helpful video.
Talent is the ability to exploit an opportunity, luck is the fact that this opportunity present itself in your life in the first place. That is why you need luck in life. Sheer work with only badluck won't lead anywhere. Luck without talent will be wasted. Luck and talent together and only together will make you great.
This is what people mean when they say it's luck that made her business great and it show a lot of humility to be honest.
Awesome video man! That ad you did in the beginning had me 😂
My biggest thing I am finding as obstacles is the IT side of setting it all up. :(
Dude. You are brilliant! Thanks for doing these videos!
That sponsored ad was just so slick... I didn't even realise I was being sold until I was sold!
Another amazing video! Thanks for all the hard work both on RUclips and Twitch. Keep going! You have a big future in this.
Hey question, can you use a iPad Pro as a 2nd display for twitch chat with a windows pc
I haven't personally done this, but I used my iphone as a "window" to help keep an eye on the chat.
I agree with the discoverability. I have been told by viewers that just stumbled upon me said they would have followed sooner Had they known i existed.
Great way to do your sponsored ad. Harris is always teaching us the trends.
Amazing ad scene
Now thats how u implement sponsor part, briliant. For the rest part you always leave great tips and inspiration, keep it up.
Great video Harris! This is definitely what everyone should be looking for!!
Dude that was the smoothest ad. That was well played
Oh man. I was hoping you'd bring up Gary Vee when talking about Social Media Business Strategy and you did. Great props to you for knowing an absolutely amazing influencer.
Which one of the ‘formula’ do we need to prioritise?
haha "I'm your stream daddy"
Also, great ad BTW. Still won't use the product but sure is funny and convincing!
That was actually a really cool way to do a sponsored ad! ;)
Sadly you forgot the one that I need the most in the quality section. Internet.
If this isnt accurate, I dont know what is.
they why!!
That smooth, clever and original transition to the sponsor
I think I kinda forgot my "why" that I had, or at least I thought I had, and that actually totally terrifies me
@Alpha Gaming help me pls which i should buy for streaming and videos making and talking to friends røde nt usb or blue yeticaster
Love the creativity!(edit) to clarify I mean the sponsorship
That was absolutely the best ad I've ever seen. I don't even need it but because of your ad Im downloading it 🤣
I started binge watching your videos and I am hyped. Honestly I use a lot of these tips for RUclips and they work out great
I love you streamdaddy. I learend so much from you although I stream for longer than I dare to say.
There is always more to know.
LastPass is awesome by the way (got it before you made the "advertisment" for them :D )
Either I am dumb or deaf or both:
How do I properly find my Why? "Wanting to entertain people" sounds like a way to vague why, or is it enough?
Hi Harris, may you please share how you put your socials on the screen? In the beginning of the Video for example, when you put your twitter?
In the day and age of instant gratification, business still take time to grow. Great advice
Useful and encouraging, as Always! 🙏😉❤
what song are you using, I dont really listen to music but i have heard that one before and forgot the name
that was by far the best AD for a sponsor i've seen on youtube ever!
That was a good advert/sponsor
I'm a beta tester for LastPass! I've been using it for like 3 years at least! Love it!!
An awesome video as ever Harris! 😁 thank you as always for the solid advice man 👊
%100 best sponsored ad ever, oh and the video was good too
10:51 my thought was the classic It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia quote "You remember feelings?"
This channel is addicting
1:24 “am i speaking spanish?” Wish you were
