Sorry for the length, but I do value your content and am hoping to get some insight. Magic: The Gathering has overhauled and announced huge plans for their new clientin 2019. Fully supported esport and partnered through twitch Magic Arena is drawing tons of people while it is just a game in beta. I am all in on this. While planning out my channel, is it more wise to jump into a semi-saturated pool inside of twitch (with the game fully supported) or try and Zag over to Mixer with a tiny audience and zero platform support? Starting out, It wouldnt be gaming for more than a few people anyways. But after a few tournament top 8's, and my name getting published, perhaps the size would grow. Any thoughts would be awseom. thank you for the wonderful content. I look forward to hearing from you.
You're totally right. I find it was much easier to grow on RUclips. But anyhow, when I tried to stream on twitch, it just didn't grow. Then RUclips started to do that weird thing when you linked to Twitch, so I was SOL trying to send my audience to that platform. So I started to stream on YT. On twitch, I have 10-20 viewers when I stream. YT 500 AT LEAST. Twitch really, really needs to do something to expose new streamers and grow the amount of creators that represent it. Twitch has a handful of them, RUclips is a whole community of creators, hundreds of thousands. Great video.
Arguably its harder to livestream on RUclips than Twitch and so if you have the ability to livestream on RUclips you send a notification to EVERY SUBSCRIBER which is essentially an equivalent to a follower on Twitch so on RUclips when you can first livestream you already have 100 "followers" which is double what twitch wants to become affiliated and it would be very easy to get 5 viewers at once as well at that point so there is also an equivalent that's just better because you have to put the work in in the first place on one vs the other.
Someone that finally doesn’t just say “speak on your stream”, “interact with your viewers”. You speak of the core problem of growing. Appreciate the tips!
Man, I speak constantly. The only times I'm not talking are when I take 20-something-second breaks so that I don't fucking kill my voice. Jesus. Don't come to me and say I don't talk enough.
Excellent video bro!! I did started on twitch first, got top 1 fortnite in Brazil, for this reason I did grow up and I am making money and living with it, but since beginning I realized this problems of growing, lucky me I started when fortnite started and I was a really good player. Now I’m working on RUclips too and I loved to understand how it works comparing with other plataforms! Great channel
Tbh I owe your channel a lot, watching your videos has helped me a lot and even the one time talking to you has helped too, I'm not sure if you remember but we had talked once in cob's server and since talking to you I've now hot 1,000 followers on twitch and I've grown more and more daily
Dauntlas hi i barely started streaming/youtube videos today literally.. i spent all my savings on a laptop a computer and i would really love to help eachother grow
I've been a full time streamer(partner) for over 5 years. Everything you said in this video is 100% true. RUclips was easy for me to grow but twitch. Wow. One of the things that gave me an advantage 5 years ago was I had already been working on a RUclips channel for 2 years. When views were low on RUclips, they also were low on my streams. RUclips is the number 1 way to grow your stream on twitch. Other ways that are useful are as follows: Network with bigger streamers(hard to do as "who the hell are you" happens), play niche games and stream alot, accomplish something(IE: win a tournament etc). But as you said, grow other platforms and have those trickle to your twitch. Now a days it's alot harder to do this because RUclips got rid of the little "Hes live on twitch" button that would popup when they implemented RUclips gaming. However, if you have millions of views a month on youtube, that will surely impact your stream and at the very least give you a head start. From there you need to continue to stay relevant and don't lose your spot. I did RUclips and Twitch at the same time for 3 years straight, 16 hours a day, everyday. It is a lot of work, but if you do it, it will be worth it eventually.
Thanks man.... I've been on the fence for the past couple of weeks trying to decide if I want to continue streaming only to Twitch (due to affiliate) or if i should just go ahead and focus my energy on streaming to RUclips. This helps a lot. 👍
@@AlignAGI Yeah, i think so. I mean Twitch has been fun and i like the interactivity with overlays and stuff, but larger portion of my audience is already on YT. I'm thinking i'll ditch Twitch affiliate and go back to multistreaming. It sucks i'll lose the bits and cheers and subscriptions, but at least I'll be able to broaden my reach at the sake of exclusivity.
@@JamesTheAxeThrower my apologies... i misspoke. I don't mean overlays like borders and alerts and stuff... I mean the interactive extensions that Twitch has. The one i was using specifically was bobmobs if you want to see for yourself.
I would love a video on the pros and cons to steaming on Twitch vs RUclips vs Mixer. With how hard it is to grow on Twitch I’m wondering if it would just be a better option to move somewhere else.
IF a twitch streamer is not getting viewers after years of streaming then they clearly are doing something entirely wrong or are not entertaining. It's pretty simple. Every twitch streamer that has more than 100 viewers has one thing in common - they have either a vibrant/engaging personality, or they are VERY VERY VERY good at a game or particular aspect of that game that they are playing and know how to market themselves. The fact is the average person that tries to "get into streaming on twitch" absolutely sucks at video games. Why would i want to watch a random bronze player play some game or a new person that's not known in a game. This is the responsibility of the person streaming - GET GOOD AT WHATEVER GAME YOU ARE PLAYING. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. GET GODLY AT IT. Or become a caster, or have an over-the-top entertaining personality or get good at video editing. Why do people think you'll randomly get 100's of viewers without any of these things? Algorithms and understanding how they work of course will help but that does not matter at all for getting viewers on twitch. Imagine going to some random tennis courts or basketball courts in a city where you live and seeing random scrubs playing basketball. Are you going to really give a fuck about watching some random people play that clearly are noobies and not good at tennis or basketball? Nope, you'll forget you even saw them. But what if there's a tournament going on downtown there at your local courts, and you see two really good players playing, or one of them is incredibly hilarious to watch, etc. You'll wanna find out who they are and if they compete and how good they are, and if they are really good that will be self evident. The #1 way to get viewers on twitch, a video game website...IS TO BE GOOD and KNOWLEDGEABLE for whichever video game you are streaming. And then if you are able to articulate that with commentary to viewers...you WILL get VIEWERS. It's really that simple. If you aren't growing on twitch, it actually is entirely your fault, you may just not be good enough or entertaining enough at the game you are streaming. The game you are streaming doesn't even matter as long as you are one of the best at it and can constantly be talking about it while you are streaming and interact with twitch chat. Being funny is also a plus! The other #1 thing that will help any twitch streamer grow their stream is to stop watching videos like this and instead TURN ON YOUR MOTHER FUCKING STREAM. The more time you put into it WILL pay off if you commit and keep working at it..just like anything. Another thing to COMPLETELY AVOID IS - DO NOT TRY TO ADVERTISE YOURSELF LIKE A USED CAR SALESMEN. People abor that shit. Don't put "twitch.tv" in ANY of your fucking usernames in any game, or any platform. You think it's good advertising? Wrong. It makes you look like an idiot and it's what everyone else is doing. If you cannot make a name for yourself with the username you chose, it just will not happen. Make it happen the right way with good PR, don't try to leech off of others, definitely collaborate if you want, but build up your own stuff yourself and don't overtly advertise. Be honest and genuine and people will feel that vibe from you.
i agree with some of ur point but not entirely true, here is the biggest problem with twitch either u r a Top dog like ninja DR.dis shroud etc(or topdog of special category Heartstone Dota whatever) or u r nothing! consider youtube for example we have top dogs in gaming like jack ,mark etc but also we have 100000s of channels with 100k - 20k subs that still make enough money to keep going on!(i know there r smaller channels making money too but percentage is so small compared to youtube) cuz u can search ,and u have suggestion videos u can watch them go fast forward skip it etc.. but lets assume im more entertaining and skilled than ninja in frotnite and i make a twitch account! nobody is gonna watch me! bcuz no one is gonna go to the bottom the page find a streamer with 0 viewer and click on it! they only way top get big there is start streaming a new popular game before other guys and be highly skilled in it or win a couple of big tournaments for big game to earn reputation! on youtube, insa etc u can make a video and it stays there forever so even if nobody watches it and first its possible to become viral later on! while on twitch its live effort u play 10 hours a day nobody watches it and that10 hours is totally wasted!
@@samjon3458 The main reason the percentage is smaller compared to youtube is because Twitch is a smaller overall platform and there generally isn't as much variability in the kind of content you can stream as opposed to the content you can make on RUclips. Also, the reason no one would find you is because Fortnite is extremely over-saturated on Twitch, there are TONS of great players streaming to low numbers.
To be honest all the points in here are very true but i don’t necessarily think that collaborating with other streamers is impossible, or even that hard. Naturally whether your introverted or not, if you have good chemistry, your stream will notice the good vibes. Another thing is if your a streamer stuck at 0 views, it doesn’t hurt to have your stream open on another tab or even ask your family members to at least have it open so you can move up on the viewer list, the higher up you can get yourself on that list, the easier people are going to find your stream. Thats what i did until i had consistently about 3 viewers then from there ask your viewers if they wouldn’t mind if they could share the stream to their friends. But if you do this, make sure you know that its not all about the numbers, each viewer isnt a number its an actual person so treat them kindly even if they refuse to share the stream. Last but definitely not least, stream for the right reasons. Stream because you enjoy it and then naturally people will come in and notice your enjoying playing no matter how many viewers you have. I have a friend that said “if your new make sure you follow the stream so i can make it to affiliate because I’m broke” which in my opinion, if you have that mentality then you shouldnt be streaming. You shouldn’t stream because you want money. Stream because you enjoy entertaining others and making people smile. Its not always about the Numbers. Anyway Great Video, very helpful insight on the algorithm.
Oh btw sorry if i sound like im bashing people that make money on twitch, im not. Being able to make money doing what you love is freaking awesome, im just saying stream for the right reasons and you’ll enjoy yourself more
well, the thing is, chat does make streaming way more entertaining imo. if that isnt given for someone it can lessen the experience right from the start
To be honest, I’ve decided to and given up on streaming at least half a dozen times. On the flip size, your videos are helping me to better understand what this live streaming is all about. I get it that nothing is a substitute for actually doing it, but it’s helpful to know what key the song is in before I jump into the stage (to use a guitar playing analogy :)
I've streamed 3 times a week about for 7 months and am lucky to get more than 3 viewers on twitch at once. But the more people that are there, the bigger the chances I get more viewers lol
I find streaming and RUclips to be two different skillsets and depend heavily upon what you put into it. I find editing videos for RUclips can be just as tiring as staying entertaining on a stream for eight hours. RUclips is a tough place to get noticed as much as twitch, it's a whole lot of work as much as a whole lot of luck. That being said, yeah, it can help to grow somewhere else and then move over to twitch, but no matter what, it's going to be an uphill battle.
@@Mrfiufaufou If that's your argument for twitch being more strenuous or difficult, you have to work on your critical thinking, bro. Either way, I see the point to both sides, but equally I think both sides are fucking moronic for arguing in favor of either. Which was my point- the point that whooshed on by your head. Take it easy, bingo.
I've given up steaming several times. Mostly because I've been burnt out. We're talking several month breaks, losing all of my progress of people watching and hanging out. The internet forgets and people move on, but slow Twitch growth is a real bummer. Take it from me, I usually average 1-3 people watching at any given time and I haven't even hit 300 followers. I've gotten to a point where I just enjoy being live and hanging out with my few friends I've gained from Twitch. Take it from me, I've streamed over 1000 hours. It's not so much about numbers anymore to me, but I would like to see some growth. Twitch is not a discoverable platform, so I decided to make a RUclips channel thanks to you Harris! Honestly, it's fun making videos too!
I followed your advice and made a RUclips channel. I'm still learning how to create content but the process of it all is very interesting and fun! Thanks Harris.
Best way to grow on twitch is be part of community. What i mean by that is don't just stream and disappear from twitch. You need to go into channels of same genre or game you play and interact with chat. People will start noticing your name in other channels and will click on your name and realize that you stream as well. Streaming is all about being active in community and not just focusing on growing your own channel and making money. I know a few viewers who are regulars on bunch of channel of this certain game who when they went live for a first time they got instant 100 viewers. That is the difference. Making content on platforms like youtube is more about you and your channel where streaming is all about sharing and being part of community first.
Multiple yt vids of yours showed up in my recommended homepage lol. But I agree with all you said. I think collaborating, networking and making friends is the best way to help a channel.
Love the honesty! This video lowkey gave me the push I needed to not invest in streaming on Twitch. There's really no hope tbh ppl only wanna watch ppl who are already popular play fortnite. That's the wave & if you're not on it you're SOL 🤷🏾♀️
Solid advice for both new and veteran creators. Thanks for speaking to the hardships a lot of us face when creating as most videos i've watched don't always talk about the "morale" of creating or how much it can affect you seeing little to no return when you've put so many hours into your craft. Great video and keep up the awesome work! Looking forward to catching your stream 👌👌👌
This is all the way true...ive been pushing and pushing...finally hit affiliate and then got kicked out my own home by a wife who didnt support my streaming...im sure she was happy that i cant stream atm but either way your advice had improved my streaming and i thank you...once i get my own place ill start streaming on youtube and twitch..i wont quit...i want my lil daughter to see the vision i have for us...
im pretty sure if your an affiliate on twitch and stream on youtube you can lose your affiliate status or even be banned. be careful man!!! dont let your hard work be for nothing.
That Underrated idea is such a great idea! You need to email them or something cause that would completely set the apart from even RUclips. Having a PERSON doing the work is an issue a lot of social platforms have but it's a feature we all want. Great content! Great idea
This is a great video. I was working on getting ready to stream and the first thing on my list was to start a youtube channel. There is literally no other way to grow on twitch than to bring people from other platforms. You are completely right on what you said!
I've been streaming for a while and tried multiple platforms. I've gotten affiliate on Twitch and still seen very little growth. Even though I've been doing it for a while, you solidified what I've been finding myself. It can't be done on Twitch alone with how big the platform is now. It's all about marketing yourself outside of Twitch. Thank you for the video and you've earned a sub from me. Keep up the good work!
I've seen about 6 of your videos already and you are helpful as hell man. Just started streaming and your advice is on point. Off today and plan on watching more. Good luck my fellow streamers!
Twitch doesnt have to change, its people that are the culprit. Look at any other entertainment profession. Actors/Actresses, Porn, Game Journalists, we always always always make the popular more popular and turn our heads to the potentially great up-and-comers and underdogs. Here are some examples. Days of our lives / General Hospital - Super famous, still on the air, but people really dont know the actors and actresses. But we ALL know Ben Affleck, Tom Cruise, all the majors. Sure the big boys are featured in a movie pretty much every year, but the soaps are on daily throughout the year. Take almost any show; Last Man on Earth, The Neighbors, Fresh off the boat, people general dont know the cast unless theres a huge name. Porn - Millions of actors and actresses, maybe 20 names are known around the world. Games Journalists - Giant Bomb is the only one that comes to my mind at the moment, and I know there are quite a few businesses out there. They just dont share the same spotlight. Its just who we are. We make the rich richer and the poor/unlucky suffer and struggle. Just the way of the road. Twitch, RUclips, and the like, can be manipulated as well. View bots and whatnot. They can fake their success to gain real success. Not something that can quite be done otherwise, without like clever marketing and going that kind of route, which is widely accepted. Point being, Ninja the Fortnite streamer gained 5million follows REALLY fast, where it makes me suspicious thats exactly what happened, that he used botting, then people seeing "Oh, he's got 100K viewers, lets check him out and follow him", again with the making the rich richer kind of thing, rather than being like "Oh, this dudes got 3 viewers, no big deal, lets see whats going on with this dude, oh snap hes actually really cool really clever really good, just no one knows about him." Its all crazy. We're all crazy. And we try to justify and explain the unexplainable and the unjustifiable. :P
Great tips my man. Thank you for taking the time at 5am to put this together for us. Much appreciated. I'm just starting my stream on TWITCH. Gaming, art, and adventures. Gonna do alot of mobile TWITCHING. Things I enjoy.
you gave me some great ideas. twitch hasn't done much for me. but i love my D&D live stream. not going to change that. i do adventure videos on youtube. i may have to commentate those videos on twitch and let the people that watch me on youtube come and watch it live. its 230am and now my mind is racing of ideas.
I just started streaming on Twitch and after spending a lot of time on it for years as a place to go and watch something entertaining, I now believe that you need at least make your followers believe you have 1 of 3 things to make it there: 1st - You are exceptionally skilled at a popular game. 2nd - You are uniquely interesting, as you bring something the majority of people cant because it ties well with your personality (Hilarious,Genius or even informative..etc) 3rd - You are a Beautiful human being..., Unfortunately this is out of your hand. I saw streamers that were averagely normal and only made it because of this . And as long as you try to get a % of these 3 things you have a chance to make it there just don't be Fake unless it's working.
Seems like tutorials that have to do with twitch on RUclips (though there are some some) seem to be lacking. I’m glad that you’re making these videos for all these up-and-coming streamers and helping them grow their audiences.
I wanna thank you personally for reaching out and trying to help even tho’ you are struggling yourself. I can almost feel your trial and errors throughout your grinding on Twitch. If I’ll ever have a window to shoutout a name it’s certainly will be yours. Hope that will make you a bit stronger.
Fantastic ideas for Twitch! Human curated channels is a good start. There's just so many unheard, unsung, underrated channels there not being noticed. I honestly believe Twitch will make notice of this and make some changes...I hope😊Thanks for sharing, Harris!👍
Dude Harris! This is so sweet man! Might not remember me, served in Pittsburgh mission together. Just found your channel today! Feel so cool that I actually know a RUclipsr! Keep it up man! Content is sweet!
You need to be a entertainer you can’t just be normal guy playing fortnite you have to stand out and have a personality and be a top tier player where not just viewers notice you you need the streamers to notice you and talk about you that is the only way
That's also how you attract stream snipers and trolls who wreck your shit and can ruin your channel repeatedly, it's a catch 22, you don't have to necessarily a top tier player, that's just erroneous as hell to say that, you have streamers who are at the bottom of the list and everyone loves them because of how they are personality wise, not because of how good they are at the game, take for instance that marble game, takes zero skill and those streamers have 100+ viewers, yep they're top tier player at a game that requires only 1 button to push let me tell ya lmao
Really thankful for your videos man. They've really been helping me out! I've only started streaming this past weekend but your tips have helped me so much more than some of my co-streamers. Now I just need people to play with and new games to play. Thanks again!
@@shmoejoeman5157 So? They don't need it, they are already on the top of twitch. They aren't gonna benefit from the 1 viewer that comes in from their game.

Good and useful video. I’m surprised that you said that collaboration is difficult, though. In the short time since I’ve started streaming, I’ve already met plenty of fellow small streamers. Streamers seem to be sociable people, in general.
Great video and the points you have made are very accurate and precise. This needs to gain much more momentum so hopefully twitch staff can understand how to even improve there site(unfortunatly maybe they have become lazy to make improvements because there is not really anything that can be rivalling) and make it much more friendly and welcoming to small streamers like me(my twitch GirlyPRO has only about 3600 followers on twitch been grinding for at least 2 years) you feel hopeless and frustrated at the fact that only the huge streamers can get more and more growth whereas the little ones like me hardly get any. Does anyone else feel like they are stuck?
Dats so terrible that noone in Russia has the same cool content to watch so glad me I learnt some english in private school to make me able to watch you and understand you. Your videos are rly helpful and I wanna say thank you for your amazing content and hope you keep doing videos like this one for ppl

I’ve been thinking about this for my last week and a half. Crazy you made this a week ago and I just made a decision the other day to start branching to other platforms more. Smart advice and a great video. Amazing work.
I've been watching some of your videos and it's been great seeing the struggle a guy so professional as yourself is going through. Your dedication and devotion to streaming is amazing and it most definitely WILL pay off eventually. I am now subscribed here and definitely following you on Twitch. I have avoided getting into youtube so far but this video has really opened my eyes for the problems on Twitch compared to other social media. Thanks for all the insight and please keep up the amazing work!

I've had multiple people tell me if I want to make something of myself that I need to create content on YT. I tried and just got frustrated every time so I have very few videos. Uploads to YT just doesn't seem friendly at all (at least when I last tried). I go back and forth on whether I really want to continue streaming many times and it doesn't help that I have crippling chronic depression. I've been on for 3 years and have...270 total follows. Honestly, while the dream is to become big I would be perfectly fine with just a small dedicated audience. I don't even have that. Even though I already knew a little I'm glad I came across this video because I never actually thought about what actually caused this problem besides that YT is permanent and Twitch is temporary on videos. I hope one day that the Twitch devs will realize what you've realized and make it a lot easier to discover people. Until then, all you can do is what you suggested, or try and wait a few weeks for the big streamers to finish the new games and then move in on em yourself. I hear that helps too. Great video!
@@leedahxo Or I could just stop watching at the beginning once I get bored and move on to another video, which Im sure many people do. This is called constructive criticism.
Very True. I use restream on both Twitch and MIXER hopefully I'll be able to get noticed. But my issue is that I'm inconsistent when I make videos and stream. And I know the most common tip is to be consistent and unfortunately that isn't going to happen if life keeps calling you.
Thank you for this. I was on Twitch for most of the summer, and while I didn't stick to a schedule, my audience was never more than a few of my friends.
I discovered your channel in search of ideas to get off 0 viewers for streaming, I just switched away from twitch to mixer but also use "Mobcrush" to cover several networks. That hypezone on mixer i never knew about, subbed to your channel. Thanks Alpha.

Great, complete videos man. Clearly identifying the problem, relating the audience, then providing some brilliant solutions that I'm all about! So glad I somehow stumbled upon your channel. Guess I have RUclips to thank for that as it wouldn't have happened on Twitch!
i been low key watching your vids and you bring up some really good points. I have a question, i been a gaming channel for a little under 2 years but wanna do different content. I want your opinion. Would you think that i should start a new channel if I wanna do rants unrelated to gaming, basically i want to start a channel about me talking sh!t, lol. Is it smarter to start a separate channel for that, or incorporate that into my current channel? PS I'm not trying to quit gaming
Awesome video and your thoughts are super fleshed out. I've been in and out of streaming for years, as gaming is a giant hobby for me. This year I'm setting a goal and throwing everything at it to see if I can succeed. Part of that goal is to be completely different and hit it with a social campaign from the other top leaders in the social game. Keep it up! Gave your twitch channel a follow as well.
Great video man what you are saying is super true. It’s about which platform is more popular in order to get successful. It’s never gonna be easy. I tell people don’t just do it for the money. Do it for the dream of wanting to be successful. Nothing you want in life is ever easy.
Anyone watching after this comment is made: Now twitch has and are still working on many ways for people to grow. Me myself ha felt this, a lot of people scroll all the way down aswell, even when I stream fortnite! SO THERE IS HOPE! Just make sure you have some friends in your stream to begin with, to avoid being alone
Great vid, thank you for putting this together, glad i came across you. will catch you on stream soon. Great to hear opinions of how people who are further along the road are finding it. Great problem analysis with proposed solutions and full of positive perspectives. Thank you again.

Arguably its harder to livestream on RUclips than Twitch and so if you have the ability to livestream on RUclips you send a notification to EVERY SUBSCRIBER which is essentially an equivalent to a follower on Twitch so on RUclips when you can first livestream you already have 100 "followers" which is double what twitch wants to become affiliated and it would be very easy to get 5 viewers at once as well at that point so there is also an equivalent that's just better because you have to put the work in in the first place on one vs the other.

i love going to smaller streamers and dropping a follow if they are professional because of how much people appreciate it and how much it helps them

Dauntlas hi i barely started streaming/youtube videos today literally.. i spent all my savings on a laptop a computer and i would really love to help eachother grow
@@chava408essj8 If you come up with a original name then
I've been a full time streamer(partner) for over 5 years.
Streaming 5 hours to no one gave me shivers.
Thanks man.... I've been on the fence for the past couple of weeks trying to decide if I want to continue streaming only to Twitch (due to affiliate) or if i should just go ahead and focus my energy on streaming to RUclips. This helps a lot. 👍
What's your plan then? Are you going to make the switch?
@@AlignAGI Yeah, i think so. I mean Twitch has been fun and i like the interactivity with overlays and stuff, but larger portion of my audience is already on YT. I'm thinking i'll ditch Twitch affiliate and go back to multistreaming. It sucks i'll lose the bits and cheers and subscriptions, but at least I'll be able to broaden my reach at the sake of exclusivity.
@@TheHaggardNerd you can do overlays and stuff on youtube lol you just need to use stream labs
@@JamesTheAxeThrower my apologies... i misspoke. I don't mean overlays like borders and alerts and stuff... I mean the interactive extensions that Twitch has. The one i was using specifically was bobmobs if you want to see for yourself.
I like youtube way more
I would love a video on the pros and cons to steaming on Twitch vs RUclips vs Mixer.
This comment... you know what are you talking. Thats so True.
i agree with some of ur point but not entirely true, here is the biggest problem with twitch either u r a Top dog like ninja DR.dis shroud etc(or topdog of special category Heartstone Dota whatever) or u r nothing! consider youtube for example we have top dogs in gaming like jack ,mark etc but also we have 100000s of channels with 100k - 20k subs that still make enough money to keep going on!(i know there r smaller channels making money too but percentage is so small compared to youtube) cuz u can search ,and u have suggestion videos u can watch them go fast forward skip it etc.. but lets assume im more entertaining and skilled than ninja in frotnite and i make a twitch account! nobody is gonna watch me! bcuz no one is gonna go to the bottom the page find a streamer with 0 viewer and click on it! they only way top get big there is start streaming a new popular game before other guys and be highly skilled in it or win a couple of big tournaments for big game to earn reputation! on youtube, insa etc u can make a video and it stays there forever so even if nobody watches it and first its possible to become viral later on! while on twitch its live effort u play 10 hours a day nobody watches it and that10 hours is totally wasted!
@@samjon3458 The main reason the percentage is smaller compared to youtube is because Twitch is a smaller overall platform and there generally isn't as much variability in the kind of content you can stream as opposed to the content you can make on RUclips. Also, the reason no one would find you is because Fortnite is extremely over-saturated on Twitch, there are TONS of great players streaming to low numbers.
aviloStarcraft2 or shotuts and raids
TLDR?
Being able to make money doing what you love is freaking awesome, im just saying stream for the right reasons and you’ll enjoy yourself more
@@goood. Yeah, he as explains this in the many others videos he has created about twitch
GoodCallYT I think you should tell your viewer you want to grow on twitch sadly most people won’t come back to low view streams which is the problem
well, the thing is, chat does make streaming way more entertaining imo. if that isnt given for someone it can lessen the experience right from the start
Who else is a small streamer not seeing any growth? :(
Maybe the point is to just have fun and not worry about how many people are watching you.

small streamer here just hit 1k follows when I started I would rake in 30-40 followers a day and now I get like 6 max 😂😂
Get yourself into fail clips few times per month and some big podcast and you are good to. Also have a gimmick.
I've streamed 3 times a week about for 7 months and am lucky to get more than 3 viewers on twitch at once. But the more people that are there, the bigger the chances I get more viewers lol
Your youtube void filling thing blew my mind, legitimately the first of your videos I've seen. And I found it exactly how you explained it. Crazy :D
Difference is, you can take as many breaks as you want while making videos, and those videos are viewed forever. Try doing that with twitch...
Unless of course you're super good looking.
I followed your advice and made a RUclips channel. I'm still learning how to create content but the process of it all is very interesting and fun! Thanks Harris.
I believe if you have fun, people will watch you. If you make it a grind, you will tire out. Focus on the fun and the you, forget the rest.
Inspiring but not really true

Point being, Ninja the Fortnite streamer gained 5million follows REALLY fast, where it makes me suspicious thats exactly what happened, that he used botting, then people seeing "Oh, he's got 100K viewers, lets check him out and follow him", again with the making the rich richer kind of thing, rather than being like "Oh, this dudes got 3 viewers, no big deal, lets see whats going on with this dude, oh snap hes actually really cool really clever really good, just no one knows about him."
Its all crazy.
I just started streaming on Twitch and after spending a lot of time on it for years as a place to go and watch something entertaining,
I now believe that you need at least make your followers believe you have 1 of 3 things to make it there:
1st - You are exceptionally skilled at a popular game.
2nd - You are uniquely interesting, as you bring something the majority of people cant because it ties well with your personality (Hilarious,Genius or even informative..etc)
3rd - You are a Beautiful human being..., Unfortunately this is out of your hand. I saw streamers that were averagely normal and only made it because of this .
And as long as you try to get a % of these 3 things you have a chance to make it there just don't be Fake unless it's working.
Love the video but your shirt bothered me the whole time 😂

Great video!

i been low key watching your vids and you bring up some really good points.
This is the first person I have ever watched that actually helps... thank you so much, you’ve already helped so much 💙
Love the advice man!, try my best to implement them into my new streaming Channel!
Super excited,thanks again!!!!
Can’t wait to learn some more!
RUclips suggested the video. Glad I clicked. You've earned my thumbs up and Sub. Best of luck
You can do what you set your mind to. Keep freaking going.

Your RUclips is doing great man! Glad to see you growing so fast!
Love you bro, sometimes its not the tip I come back for but the push you give 🙂🙂🙂
Awesome content, you earned your self a subscriber. Keep it up man rise to the top !
You’re the man! I was thinking the same thing about twitch, no efficient way to search things. Such a shame.
Great vid, thank you for putting this together, glad i came across you. will catch you on stream soon. Great to hear opinions of how people who are further along the road are finding it. Great problem analysis with proposed solutions and full of positive perspectives. Thank you again.
