    What's the biggest mistake you see other streamers making?

    • @ListlessAU
      @ListlessAU 5 лет назад +22

      Not reading chat at all, then when you call them out on it they deny. twitch.tv/listlessau btw

      People forgetting that they're basically creating free entertainment
      And giving some stick to people like graphic designers when they do something not exactly the way the streamer wants it.

    Harris helped me a lot in the Past. Tank you. One more Tip from me as a small Streamer: Dont Talk about Controversial Topics, never judge or Flame People. Ban negativity from your Mind, people want to relax After their shitty week of Work, dont remember them of it. They ask you when they want your Opinion of it.

    I have a question that I do not know if anyone has ever addressed before. I am an upcoming streamer on twitch and a casual youtuber. I have been devoting more time to twitch recently and it has been paying off so far. I have been told a lot that it is better to plan ahead rather than getting caught off guard and not being prepared. with all that being said, when is a good time to start creating merch and promoting it?

    • @HealthyWC-2
      @HealthyWC-2 5 лет назад +5

      If you can't ask your viewers if they would buy it or don't have enough to ask, don't go through the trouble of making them. My opinion

    • @variobro5922
      @variobro5922 5 лет назад

      @@HealthyWC-2 I'm actually considering doing the same thing. I think if you make some merch that people would want to buy (because it looks cool) then people would buy it. My plan is to get some merch that people will actually like to wear out and about. I am a pretty small youtuber and don't have many followers on Twitch but i don't think it's ever too early.

    I watch your videos a lot, but when you said something about subscribing, I looked down at the subscribe button and was surprised that I haven't subscribed yet. On a side note, I hate how RUclips calls it subscribe because it makes it sound like it will cost a monthly fee. I think they should change it to follow.

    The biggest thing that keeps your own growth in mind that I remember most is when your not working for your own growth, then your working for someone else's. Thats fine if its a friend or something you believe in, but if it's a company or person you don't care for then its not worth time you deserve to spend you know is not a waste

    100% agreed on the asking for subs thing, granted I've decided to push for 50 subs (which I did reach thanks to awesome and generous people)
    But I've made it abundantly clear. I was not doing it for the money, while the extra money from it yes was a nice small bonus, it's not why I did it, the reason why I've decided to make it clear I was pushing for 50 subs specifically was due to the information Twitch had released at the time that Twitch affiliates also received the option to unlock additional slots, which I personally felt was a justified cause to push for the 50 subs (as this would unlock all 5 emote slots as they come out for affiliates) but I was 100% ready and expected that drop that happened a month later but everyone does get to enjoy more emotes.
    As for the content on other platforms, I do try to edit clips for clip compilations (yes I know you've said to not do clip compilations) a little bit, or as you call them micro edits, but I've not done this in every single clip in those, I've felt I've had clips in the past that editing would only make them... worse? if that makes sense.
    PS: Hopefully your back is doing better!

    great video as always harris! however one question i have which isn't about streaming but more regarding youtube, what video editor would you recommend for people (and what do you personally use)? i have been using Resolve as it's free but i haven't delved into using any advanced features as it's both a bit heavy-weight in terms of memory/processing reqs as well as it seems it'll require some figuring out.
    do you have any insights on this? i'd also love a video helping us to figure out editing for youtube (as well as programs)!
    keep up the good work

    I completely quit streaming on Twitch. Because, I make more money taking a dump sometimes, than I did during an 8 hour stream in front of over 300 viewers. It's rough. I'm partnered too, it just sucks because you have to be there to get paid. Whereas, RUclips videos can make you money while you're pooping. Definitely build an audience on RUclips to at least 10,000 subscribers before taking Twitch seriously. There's a lot more analytics on RUclips as well to help you make better content in the future. Twitch just doesn't have that.

    I can't begin to explain what source of inspiration you are and these videos are as well. I've been binge-watching many of your twitch related videos as it's been a childhood dream to do something similar and make an impact on people. I believe this type of platform is one of the best ways to do so while doing something I love. Now that I've finally got a decent pc, got an income and some time to invest in this... I'm scared... but excited at the same time. I'll do my best and make a success! Thank you.

    Hi Harris! Huge fan, I always direct people to your channel because I feel like you put me in the right frame or mind to grow on twitch in a short time.
    I wanted your thoughts on something. I have some sub perks in place that focus a lot on community and I thoroughly enjoy following through on them.
    My question is this: would it feel too greedy if I gave tier 3 perks for 1 month to the top monthly bit cheerer? I feel like it would be a cool way to give them something back for the extra support, and it would have the added bonus of encouraging cheers.
    But then I fear like it would feel too greedy. What are your thoughts on that?
    Thanks in advance even if you can't find the time to answer, you're still the most thought provoking you tuber talking about this stuff.
